    it was the most beautiful of the three back then, and the only one which STILL looks great. It doesn't handle as bad as he made it look (as the Stig demonstraded). If you were really serious about handling, you could swap the differential for an aftermarket one. It was by far the best option. Never trust journalists, especially when they're funny

    • @shortbutfunnyvideos
      @shortbutfunnyvideos 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I beg to differ. It looks pinched, fat, bulbous, and the headlights look ridiculous. On the technical front it dosent handle, its wrong wheel drive, and is a glorified fiat. Theirs a reason barely anyone bought one

    • @MJ-uk6lu
      @MJ-uk6lu 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@shortbutfunnyvideos And yet it still looks the best and sounds the best. Let's not forget that R32 Golf was kinda shit too, in Tsukuba it doesn't turn, it's heavier than family saloon and only at Nurburgring it's any good at cornering. Focus RS is just sad, looks like typical ricer mobile of 90s. GTA might have been imperfect, but it's the least bad of three and if you buy LSD that Alfa made for it, it reduces understeer and that's still factory spec car essentially, since LSD was a factory option. You would need to replace whole outer body of Focus and to completely remake R32, to be any better. And to be honest, if you hate understeer that much, but wanted fully factory spec Alfa, you could have got one with more sensible engine.

      +Virus You know nothing. I'm on my 12th Alfa and they have all been superb. The ex had a Honda 150 (Civic) and it rusted to shit, Even on the roof and it spent most its life in a garage. The Nissan I once had, had a stretched timing chain so the car mis-fired. Quoted 10 hours to repair by 2 garages. Sold it and tried a Toyota Avensis. It used more oil than petrol due to faulty oil rings from the factory. Sold it and went back to Alfa. Two GTV6s, 3 Alfettas, 3 Giuliettas (80s era), 1 Bertone GTV, 1 Alfa Sei (6), 1 156 24v and now my 147JTDm. All a blast to drive and as reliable as anything out there. The Alfa diesel technology was a breakthrough and is used by all the other brands.
      You can stick with your generic Blandbox, I'm happy driving something different.

    Hehe, mine does that too, and it's only an 80bhp ford fusion :). Seems to be the eco-friendly rubber ford uses for the tyres. I can even lock all four wheels under heavy braking (the ABS doesn't work) and it doesn't even leave skidmarks! Regarding slicks, they're much worse in the rain because the grooves in normal tyres push the water away from underneath the tyre whereas with slicks the water just stays there & separates the rubber from the road so you get less grip.

    I get it. It's a cliche, but Alfas have that special Italian spirit. As a friend of mine said, they make a car dance, not merely accelerate, turn and stop. And they understand aesthetics: the Italians have this view that it's just as important that something be beautiful as functional, if not more. Isn't that sort of what life's about? It's kind of the automotive equivalent of economics or art and poetry. The former is about how we live, the latter is about why we live.
