I'm attempting to beat Pokemon Emerald - BUT - every time I defeat a trainer, I take their team for myself! Is it possible to become the Pokemon Champion while only using the teams from the previous trainer? Let's find out!

Rules for this challenge:
- When I beat a trainer, I must immediately steal their team.
- Pokemon from trainers must match the levels, abilities, movesets, and exact statistics of the Pokemon
- If the trainer used items, you may use the same items while using their team
- No fighting wild Pokemon to gain levels
- Must play on Set Mode
- Can re-organize the team how I see fit
This is not a Nuzlocke and battles were re-fought and save states were used. This is a challenge to determine if this is possible at all.

Try a pokemon nuzlocke with using pokemon with only 1 type i.e. no dual typed pokemons.
for example, valid pokemon - Espeon,Darmanitan,Hitmonchan,Blastoise,etc
invalid pokemon - Swellow, Gengar, Swampert, etc

I think it totally makes sense that to beat two trainers, you get to use two trainers teams.
Yeah you still had to defeat all the Pokemon just the same
Yup. I was actually surprised/confused that he didn't take both opponent's teams in the first video since while the two grunt situation was two separate battles, the double/tag battle is one battle against a specific team. So for me personally, it was neither tweaking nor breaking the rule.

Usually I don't comment on these, but you have some of the best challenges and deverse more recognition, these 2 videos were a blast
This was an awesome video. I’d love to see you do heart gold or soul silver. The map becomes really open when you get to Morty so I’m sure you’d have a ton of good options. Funnily enough, later gens may be easier because random trainers won’t have Pokémon that are completely useless (looking at you poochyena and pelipper)
Usually I hate when challenge runners use items but only using the items from the trainer you just beat is so fun and interesting and totally feels in the spirit of the challenge
Awesome vid! Would love to see black 2! Tonnes of strong trainers to choose from but also lots of equally OP trainers to fight, should be quite the challenge!

This chalenge seemed pretty tough! Congrats on getting through all the tough fight and finding out ways to get past seemingly imposible battles. That requires a big boi brain to execute plays like that, and you fortunately have a big boi brain
For the next chalenge, maybe black2/white2, could be rlly fun since the trainers are pretty diverse, you can battle the elite four in any order you want, and ofc black2/white2 are top tier games overall. Ofc this is just my suggestion and it's your choice for what game you wanna do this chalenge in next. I'll be looking foward to it, keep up the great work my boi 👍

Are you taking suggestions? I was wondering if it’s possible to do a twist on the letterlockes, where your next Pokémon has to start with the last letter of your last Pokémon. (But as with the letterlockes, evolutions would be allowed if you intend to use that particular evolution only.) it might be fun.

Was expecting you to have to restart in order to use Winona’s team for Tate and Liza, but you pulled through anyways!

The Tate and Liza fight was impressive, but I never thought I'd see the day when I'd finally understand how Wallace managed to take the spot of Champion off of Steven. Absolutely the video's highlight to me.
This was one of the best Pokemon vids I've ever seen.
Only tip I'd give is getting a bit less technical at the very end. Have fun with the fact that you're about to win 😅
Good stuff. Next game, could you do either Crystal or HGSS? Crystal for an added challenge, but you have to beat Red.
I would love to see this same challenge in another game. My vote would be for firered/leafgreen, but any game would be interesting. I do think it would be interesting if the next time you kept track of the amount of resets for every tough fight somewere. Would be fun to get a sense of how finnicky they were

HGSS Next! Maybe the Kanto gym leaders will become a challenge as after the league you suddenly become much weaker as well :)
Love to see Fire Red or Leaf Green (Kanto forever baby!), but failing that, black or white could be fun.
Norman's Spinda spamming teeter dance is strongly appreciated by speedrunners as well. My best guess is that it doesn't count as a targeted move (since in a double battle it will confuse all combatants other than Spinda), which leads to Norman not checking the opposing pokemon's status when deciding whether to use it. Or something like that.

The Tate & Liza Battle was so perfect i can't believe it. The hyperpotion healing 69 HP almost Made me pass out😂

This is a complete RNG-based run but it's definitely interesting, nevertheless. You've been transparent about resetting, so, it's no issue.
What I like the most is you using the Pokemon of other trainers to beat gym leaders. I like how it proves that random trainers can beat gym leaders.
More of this type of run, please! Which Pokémon game do you think would be the most challenging?
I'd love to see you do this with Red/Blue, that seems like it would be incredibly difficult. Especially with something like beating Agatha with Bruno's team.
"tentacruel can't do much to cradily" when you had ice beam? It's about as strong as stab sludhe and super effective, my guy
Zangoose is actually capable of winnning a solo run with level caps in place, even without changing natures/IVs between fights. Its stats and movepool are perfect for sweeping every fight.

I wish main games would do stuff like this. Give the player a premade team, and have them win a kind of puzzle-battle.
Nothing stopping you from taking Winonas team to Tate and Liza and not having to taint the run with that double team steal.
Maybe, depends if it could win or not.
Magma hideout
I thought about this and you’re actually correct, I could do Magma and Aqua Hideouts without beating Winona, clear out everything before T&L, then beat Winona and try the seventh gym with that team. It would be tedious without Fly but totally possible! Winona’s team is mostly under level 32, but with all 5 immune to Earthquake and a Dragon Dancing Altaria, it seems possible!

i think this could be cool with S/V cause the trainers are all optional minus important battles - probably a lot easier but i’m assuming a lot more team diversity too

And for the totem pokemons, you use the totem pokemon's stats/moves (up to you if you use the ally pokemon)

Would be interesting to see in how many games you could do this but only taking Gym Leaders/E4 teams. E.g. you have to use Brocks team until you beat Misty then you get hers etc.

Any indication that this is a Part 2, in thumbnail or title, discourages new viewers from checking the video out! Nobody is going to click on a Part 2 if they haven’t watched Part 1, but if a viewer starts watching and likes the concept, they may go back and watch Part 1!
I do appreciate the description pointing to part 1, though, as you said hopefully new people get caught up and check this out, since it's a mega cool challenge!
