OMG, my deepest sympathies .... I lost my wife of 20 years in early 2019 and my mother later that year ... keep the faith! Even with all this sorrow, I decided I needed to move on late in 2019. My wife was from Thailand and always wanted me to go visit her families home town (Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand) so I decided I'd take her ashes there and lay them to rest in her ancestorial home. When I did so last Dec I met a really nice girl who helped me find my way around a city I knew nothing about and a language I had little ability to speak. Long story short I returned in March 2019 before the lockdown, and while I only intended to stay 6 weeks the lockdown struck and I am still today living with my new girlfriend and am getting on with my life and happy again ... there are still sad days, but it gets easier t cope ... keep the faith, it will never get better but it will get easier.
I have no idea what to say beyond that I'm sorry for your incomprehensible loss. What a weirdly appropriate song for the circumstances. I think I would have found it painful to listen to it, but maybe it helped in some way - I hope so.

Sorry to hear. Ive had a coworker and a close friend do that and it was horrible for everyone they left behind. Its hard (cant imagine losing a child though) but I managed to use both instances to focus on myself and see what I can do better, and made some long lasting positive changes for my health, both physical and mental. I hope you can eventually do the same and change your life in a positive way from this experience. Hopefully Band-Maid can bring some comfort. They’re both talented and hard working when it comes to their music. They’ve got a new single coming on December 2nd and a new album in January.

Oh my goodness Dean, I'm so very sorry to hear this news! My son is 17 and this is a huge fear of mine. He's been so very depressed and down. He does virtual school because of the pandemic and I think he is very lonely, he tells me so. He sends up red flags a lot to me. I asked him what and when do you feel the happiest? He says when he's sleeping because he's not awake. I asked him if he feels depressed, he said in order to feel depressed you have to feel. He's been in talk therapy for 6 months now, but he just seems to get worse. He goes next week for some in office testing. I feel that he may be on the autism spectrum that has gone misdiagnosed. He was tested when he was younger, but the docs then just said he was a late bloomer. It breaks my heart and I feel so hopeless in helping. I try all the things I feel like I'm supposed to do. He's a pretty chilled out boy, but he does lack empathy. He says he'll never find anyone that will like him, because he doesn't understand how they possibly could. I can't imagine the grief that you and your family are feeling. I know throughout your life you're always gonna have the what ifs??? You're gonna wonder if you missed something or you are gonna feel guilt. PLEASE don't ever feel this way. This is NOT your fault!!! Please, please, please take care of yourself. If he loves animals it can make a big difference. Having a pet teaches unconditional love, as with dogs for example. They show love no matter what.
