I'd like to try some more drift events in 2024. But I learned that grip alignment and setup is somewhat different than drift. Oh well, can't be optimal for everything!
Yeah, always seemed fun and challenging, and BOY is it. Although grip setups aren't great at drifting. The skills you learn drifting can help make you faster or keep you out of trouble in racing.
No the engine typically feels stronger and healthier AFTER a track day. Rotaries actually thrive under heavier use. I feel more confident tracking a rotary than a piston engine. Much simpler and lower stress.
Seems at least as strong as when I bought it. Currently almost 90k, bought with 73k. Lots of those miles are racing. Rotaries get a bad reputation, but hold up better in racing conditions given the right maintenance. Yeah its a badass daily, haha. My only backup is my motorcycle
Nice job!!
Was a busy and fruitful year! Looking forward to 2024!
So many years on and you’re still racing an rx8. Deserved my sub. Keep it up my man.
Good to see rx8 drifting,subscribe!

Firstly, you are a great driver, secondly, rx8 is a godly car. I got mine for 4500 a month ago. So fun to drive. God bless and happy 2024
Thanks man, same to you! Gonna take the RX-8 to Harris Hill perhaps? it's no AMG in a straight line but it sure does well in corners!
@@rx8matt Yes I am going to! The CLS55 AMG is just a monster. Thing handles too! Rx8 will be a blast on that short track. Can't wait.
DUDE you’re drifting now too!?!?

Any engine issues since you’ve been tracking?

Hey do you have any overheating issues on lower speed autocross? Also, are there any cooling upgrades you've done?
Fal420 fans, higher water percentage, higher pressure cap, undersize water pump pulley, earlier fan activation. No overheating
@@rx8matt Thanks a lot for the response, gonna check out the fal420 fans and pulley. What method did you use to get the fans to kick on earlier?

What happened to the white Rx8?
wow, never thought id see someone racing their dd rx8 let alone drift it 😂 hows the engine held up with all that abuse?

I right with ya! 125k original motor. Daily, tracked, and all. They definitely get a bad rep. mainly due to improper care.
