      @@yarukineez0 Glad you‘ve enjoyed the video!🙏 However Apex seals along your corner - and side seals act more as a piston ring equivalent. They seal off the combustion chamber creating compression.

    Greetings from Germany. I also had an RX-8 years ago. When I asked, the starter was also replaced with a faster rotating one. Nevertheless, the RX-8 sank a total of 3 times. The problem is that you can't turn it on briefly and then turn it off again immediately. So reparking for a short time is not a good idea.

    I love rotaries a lot, I'm not sure if you remember my last comment but I ended up finding a hobbyist like you but in my area and he said next time he ends up rebuilding a friend / customers rotary that I can come over and help and watch with the build, I'm super excited. Rotaries are honestly a lot more simple than piston engines at least when it comes to raw moving parts. I think the reason why so many people are scared of rotary cars is very few skills translate over to rotaries if you've been working on piston engines for your entire life. You could build 1000+ piston engines inline 4, inline 6, v6, boxer, etc. Building a rotary is an entire other world. It must be hard to get after market parts over there in Europe, its hard over here even in the USA. Japan is very spoiled mazda is still making a lot of OEM parts from rotaries over there.

      OMP delete != Sohn Adapter

    • @moritzherr
      @moritzherr  11 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @@indianmarshmello. In case of RX-8‘s a OMP delete actually means that you have to install a sohn adaptor… Otherwise the car won’t run because the ECU will throw a code.
      You can get an RX-8 to run without an OMP aswell, however this involves re-coding the ECU to prevent it from throwing a fault code :)
      Up until RX-7 FC S4‘s it is pretty easy to delete the OMP as they are mechanically actuated. Although since the FC S5 model they have moves to electrically actuated OMP‘s which means IF you do an OMP delete, you will either NEED a Sohn adaptor OR coding✌️

    In defense of the other guys, at face value an rx8 that's been "run without oil" to rotary owners means that engine could be a lot worse and a major gamble. Still though, it's always a bit of a gamble and you came out lucky with this having so many reusable parts! Good stuff man ❤

    The apex seal is only good for 80 miles then you will have to pull the engine again.. you should have used racing apex seals for longer life

    • @moritzherr
      @moritzherr  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@mrinternational5185 Bro don’t wanne be rude or anything but… Have you ever built even one rotary engine?😅 Because judging by the things you‘re saying „you should get new housings“ and „get racing apex seals for longer life“ you really don’t have any idea what you‘re talking about.

    • @moritzherr
      @moritzherr  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@mrinternational5185 First of all: 80 miles? What are you even talking about😂 Second: you cannot say that „racing“ seals provide longer life as this is totally misleading. There are different types of Apex seals made of different materials.
      However ALL of them are totally fine to use! The only benefit of carbon Apex seals is the weight and it has nothing to do with „lasting longer“. Wuite the opposite actually, carbon seals are super fragile and pretty dangerous for your engine in case of detonation.
      What you said about the housings is also total crap mate, I‘m sorry😅 Just hate it when people spread misinformation and be so sure about themselves.
      Mazda provides wear indicators in the workshop manual for the housings. Based on those you can check if the housing is reusable or not. And for a simple rebuild of a 84.000km engine there is NO POINT in buying two new housings when they are well above the wear tolerance!

  • @MyZxcvb12

    Why not put oil in the petrol like old 2 stroke every time you put petrol in?

    • @moritzherr
      @moritzherr  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@MyZxcvb12 Many people premix like this, including me on my RX-7. However it is simply more convenient to fill up a seperate reservoir every 500km than to stand at the gas station, carefully calculating premix ratios while there is a big line of cars behind you😂
      But the most important reason is that if you add it only to your fuel and delete the OMP, the apex seals will not get ANY lubrication on decelleration as no fuel is being injected during that time.
      With such an adaptor, oil is still being injected, making decel safe on a rotary👍🏻
      That’s the main reason why I am also moving away from premixing.
