A little over a year ago I was falling asleep with a broken heart, feeling everything these lyrics say. I couldn’t escape my toxic relationship, I genuinely believed it was love, genuinely believed everything was all my fault, believed him when he said it was all because I wasn’t trying hard enough, even if he was the one who cheated on me. I somehow made it out of that darkness, thanks to the support of my amazing friends and family. That relationship made me hesitant to start loving someone again, but luckily an old friendship blossomed into one of the healthiest and happiest relationship of my life. I’m so happy that I broke free, listening to this song just makes me feel so sorry for anyone who went through I did, or is currently still going through it. I want to tell those people that it starts with a choice: and that choice is choosing YOURSELF FIRST. Things will only get better once you break free from their hold on you. You don’t need this, you will NOT cry over them. Please be strong and know that you are capable of being loved by someone much more deserving of you- someone who doesn’t make you question whether you need this relationship, someone who doesn’t make you cry for the wrong reasons. 🙏❤️
