Exactly. Check out untamed motors channel for specifics but he put 5k miles on his trd tundra and broke even after some slight mods.
Also when talking about a $50k truck, if $3k is a deal breaker for you, you need to look at less expensive options.

WOW... that is exactly my Tundra SR5 TRD ...!!! Same packages, parking sensors etc, and just a little under 50k (I got it for 47k). At the time, the TRD Prod at my dealership was well over 55k. Not an option. Still I just customized it a little bit more (Fuel Assault Rims, Fender Flares, TRD Sport Predator Edition Decals among others) I only miss the sunroof but other than that, everything is perfect. Excellent comparison.. Thank you both...!!!

I opted for the 21 Platinum. I loved the pro, price was the same as my platinum but could not look past the creature comforts I would give up going to the pro vs the platinum. The quilted high quality leather seats, ventilated seats, parking and rear cross traffic alert and power folding mirrors. Another feature i think I just observed in this video is the center gauge cluster display was black and white in the pro? It’s color display in my platinum. Lots of little things but overall both great trucks. The final thing that really sold my on platinum vs pro. I wanted windchill Pearl. Love the color.

I did a platinum and the dealer put on TRD: dual exhaust, front skid plate, rear sway bar, shift knob. Backflip tonneau, predator steps and BFG off road tires, and the black tundra letter on tailgate, spray in bed liner.
Granted Msrp was 63- but it’s pretty awesome to say the least.

Me, I'd go w/ the Limited. I don't do any crazy offroad advantures or go flying my new truck in back countries so the Limited is a better fit for me. Both the TRD Pro and SR5 don't have the interior features I like, however, I do like the all color matched of the SR5 tho

I would take the pro all day but I am actively looking for a TRD pro in lunar rock and can’t find one within 500 miles of me in Southern California for MSRP. Even the ones that are advertised at msrp when I call they tell me that is msrp but it’s not for sale for msrp. That said with rebates and discounts on the TRD sport that don’t apply to the pro the price gap gets wider. But the pro is a freaking awesome truck

For a 3k difference you get the Pro.
But realistically, the dealership will take off a couple grand off the Sport, the Pro they don’t budge. The Markup for my 2019 Sport was $48k. I walked away paying only $42k brand new. Have the same TRD Sport as Jeff. Love my truck.
The TRD Sport Tundra and maybe the Limited are the best value for the Tundra. By far.

I feel like the skid plate feature was missed with the PRO, and the general stance with the Pro being more level due to the front coils being different. I will say that for the price you very well could take the SR5 with some factory upgrades and then adding in your own could come out with more truck for about the same price. Real issue on that comes down to money out of pocket as opposed to financing a truck that is already a good build start.

You walk into the dealer and you say, i want the top trim. You take the "TRD Pro" home to find out that's it's missing a list of important "add on" features. Bad reputation to Toyota for being conservative. This is what happen when they let others build their brand and sell it the way they want. This would've never happen when they were made in Japan and shipped over in a handful of trims.

More rare to see a pro tundra than a raptor at $15 k more. Glad I ordered mine before the V8 is gone. I hope they go up in value like the FJ.

SR5 and build up the suspension, wheels, tires, etc...nothing special about the TRD Pro and the Fox shocks spec’ed for the Pro. The shocks are inferior compared to the buying aftermarket 2.5” or bigger Fox, Kings, Icon, and/or ADS Racing Shocks.

Pro would take the cake if it had more off road features agreed.

I agree James, and it’s a great idea to build up your own SR5 if you plan to keep it long term. Most tundra owners do. If you trade every 3-4 then the pro will be the smarter choice. Dealers don’t care how much you paid for the aftermarket Icon suspension. Not sure how selling a modded pickup outright would do but my guess is that people lose a massive amount of the money spent to upgrade.

@@boughtandpaidforautoreview1150 Yes.... selling your vehicle or trade in you go into it losing any mods $$$$. Either part it out and put stock stuff back on if kepted, and sell mods to recoup. Most Raptor owners rip thier stock suspension out for better, let alone a TDR Pro suspension.
