- For a long time @DanteRavioli and I have had a bit of a rivalry, but for the time being we have decided to team up and take on the resident evil 5 speedrun.

These guys knew the whole time what their audience really want and took them this long to deliver
I'm still amazed at how close Dante's estimate at the beginning wound up being to the run time
I mean the difference between Professional in this game compared to RE4 is that in RE4 it just keeps the main difficulty consistent. Leading to better setups and it ends up feeling pretty fair.
RE5, on the other hand, just means you get 1-shot all the time by off screen attacks you couldn't react to.

Crossbows don't instakill, melee kills do. I've learned this the not fun way, and you also bleed out faster. It's fun

Dude.. that jill fight can go wrong so fast… I deadass have PTSD from it. if you miss that first bullet, you better prepare your butthole cause she will spray your ass down. And it’s next to impossible to finish that fight normally unless you cheese it with the smg. I remember the time I lost a bet and was forced to play the fight as intended… those QTE’s being randomized was the peak definition of cook & ball torture. NOT A FUN TIME.
RE5 is a great game to co-op with your buds. My brother and I have played through it loads of times, and it's always fun.
Agreed, shitty resident Evil game, but a great couch co-op. Also played it with my big brother. I think we finished it first day.

Idk if you knew, but if you swap to 30 FPS just before the El Gigante boss fight in 2-3, there’s a chance you can one cycle him saving upwards of 1:30. it’s straight RNG, but it’s worth trying it if you end up doing a future run.

I remember the early day of Resident Evil 5 me and my friend had two old HD TVs just inches from each other our 360 hooked up via AV Cables, snacks and drinks on standby and my guide book propped open ready for clues. The professional run was a pure nightmare fuel we were in full no damage run

I believe that's because he was starting to dodge, or he was about to pull out his gun, reducing his chances to dodge, so the explosion of the rocket made him dash towards you, and when the animation ended, it damaged him enough to put him into his "recovering" animation where you can restrain him.
Obviously the best thing about RE5 and RE6 is the option to yell to your partner "sheva HURRY HURRY sheva" "ok. IM GOING"

I remember playing this when I was younger I went for 100% everything unlocked the infinite ammo I even bought the multiplayer dlc but oh boy there is so much stuff I just do not remember existing watching this video lmao
I just noticed when playing the game. The QTE ancient temple running section is just a cutscene if you play solo
I played through resident evil 5 so many times back in the day. only randomly, by accident, did I drag the bat in the temple all the way up the stairs that one time to find out that I didn't need to fight the thing at all. I'd spend a playthrough worth of ammo and grenade launcher shells trying to kill it.
Isn't it still faster to do the instakill mine trick? Where you place a mine where it lands after the cutscene, so when you activate the boss, he instantly hits the mine and dies immediately.
@@GBDupree I never knew that or tried it. it was just me and the game and little to no strategy.
For many people this game is definitely not flawless by far but I can't help but love it so much. One of the games I've had most fun with in my life.

The quicktime events for RE5 on pc caused so many deaths, me and my friend had to resort to plugging in a controller exclusivley for quick time sections😂

I remember doing this on co-op back in the day on X-Box360, Almost got 100% it with a friend from work, did it on hardest. Good times.
I thought I was dreaming.... but no! the dante and waifu are using teamwork
Professional is basically anything looks at you your dead you tend to want one guy for short range crowd control and one for long range. So sniper with a pistol and the other with smg and shotgun tends to blast through everything.

I loved RE5 when I was younger, was actually the first RE game I played so wasn't really one the people to see the change in genre the series went through.
That said after playing the RE4 Remake and watching this video, I look forward to an RE5 remake, as they were able to remove the QTE from RE4 and would be great so see this game with new look and no QTEs, I think the on-rails Humvee part would stay but imagine it be done a lot better

A friend and I used to play this so much we could speedrun it in a few hours, and get the treasures still. I don't remember the time we had on our speedrun but we I think could do it in under 2 hours on ps3
Also, in the swamps during the section where someone has to go in the water and dodge crocs, you can have one person stay behind and snipe the crocs. It takes about 2 headshots to take them out, and makes it easier.
As a former speedrunner you guys can actually beat Wesker with the launcher by simply standing behind him. He does a jumping kick attack that turns him around and if you make him do it and step back he is completely vulnerable while in the air.
Which Wesker fight? 1, 2 or 3?
I have never got the F V quick time event pressed in fights... its so stupid :DDD

My favorite part of RE6 when playing with my uncle is just constantly yelling and calling at each other. Just spamming voicelines and yes and no, best part of that game, glad they kept it from 5.

Hey waifu i noticed that in re4 when you are ashley you don't have to fully open the gate to get through so you don't have to crank an extra 5 seconds as well as use a shotgun to drop the bridge in one shot at novis2
