    That's a really nice looking aftermarket light. I love the F1 function. It grabs your attention more than just a solid light will.
    Very good. They need to come out with a new trim piece just to finish it off. I give it a 9 out of 10.
    It's too bad how quickly a front license plate can ruin the look of a car. But what can you do, it's a necessary evil.

      @@markmedia3871 I used the wiring from the main harness in the trunk. I did not remove any tail lights. There is a rubber grommet in the trunk that drops the wires right were you need them. I remember it was a brown wire for the brake light source. Bulbs and sockets I just bought on amazon.

    I don’t understand why it is two horizontal Y’s. It doesn’t match any other line or flow of the car. As for the rest of the light: looks like every other 1990’s nopi knock off alteza. I think the whole thing looks cheap.

    Hey man this looks great! Quick question how so you feel about the chance of the engine failure issue going on with the gr86's? And about how if you track them they void warranty

    • @KevinVo
      @KevinVo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      That's a good question. I don't want to say it's blown out of proportion, but right now we have only seen a small handful(if that) of cars with issues. Of course, there could be more that have not surfaced, but I really can't say anything for certain until there's more evidence that this is a widespread problem. Am I tempted to drop my oil pan to check? Yes, but I also don't want to cause myself anymore headaches if Toyota does decide to do something about this and then I try to go in to have them fix it and they refuse saying I've tampered with the oil pan. So I guess I'm saying we need to wait to gather more info. I'm happy to see the press is picking it up though. I'm hoping that will for action from Toyota.

    • @BPEKSupraInteractive
      @BPEKSupraInteractive 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KevinVo Could it be possible to detect a noticeable amount of silicone in the oil by doing an oil sample like Blackstone Labs? I'm guessing if you go with this route, don't have to take apart the oil pan and risk voiding warranty.

    • @MH-rj1kg
      @MH-rj1kg 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BPEKSupraInteractive early on there may be a high silicone level in the oil anyway. It may give you an idea but wouldn't actually tell you if you have the issue or not. The only way to be sure is to drop the pan and look (which voids warranty from my understanding). My plan is to keep giving it hell and let toyota throw another block in if it messes up. At least until they come out with an official fix or response then there doesn't seem much we can do.

    Heard about some 2022 gr86s having engine failures lately from track runs and light drifting, hows your gr86 holding up? Considering getting one but all the news about this Subaru boxer engine failing has me skeptical esp bc toyota doesn't honor their warranties very often.

    • @Unchainedmaple888
      @Unchainedmaple888 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Even worse is that if there is something wrong with the engines, Toyota technicians will just make the problem worse. If you really want one, I'd highly recommend going with a BRZ even if it is uglier. My local Toyota dealer didn't have the necessary parts for my first oil change so I had to pay my local Subaru dealer to do it instead.

That would really piss me off as this same issue happened on my 1996 Corvette where the silicone dried up and started leaking.

      The ones I used were 10-32 rubber expansion nuts I picked up at my local hardware store

    Sorry but that new light looks like ass! Don’t like the relocation plate either. Plate blends in better in the center. Good video nonetheless. Thank you.

    The design of the brake light isn't cohesive with the rest of the car and it's not even set right? What's up with the line and dots? These reverse arrow design are horrid.

      I'm anticipating a tail light release that would have a similar design, but we shall see.
