    I went through a cascade of thoughts and emotions during the clip: from " what the hell? Why this topic? We have to stay away from things we don't have proofs of, through "guys, entertainment isn't what We need", to "oh shiiiiiiiet the men speak for themselves"! You can hear the common motive out of their speeches. It was a danger. So they had to go. Another historical proof that We all need to be strong organisations and not a herd running blindly behind icons. We have to be organized and move as a whole so a tragic loss of a comrade doesn't harm us too much.

      I also agree, but it is much easier to have a smart leader and just follow suit than collectively gain intelligence, but again that is just my assumption. However education of the masses of these groups so that when one leader is struck down two else come up could also be great since information is so easy to access, but time isnt, education of our entire groups should be the goal for any movements forward. I really hope we get to live that reality. I want the immortal proletariot to do what is needed and run undying against these wrongs

    Everyone should read Malcolm X's autobiography. What an amazing life he lived. The man was imperfect, but he was always striving to do better, and _radically_ altered his beliefs throughout his life, including near the end of it as he began shifting much more toward socialism.

    • @gg-oy5gz
      @gg-oy5gz ปีที่แล้ว

      agreed. its so unfortunate that he died before expressing his true stance and ideology because most of his work throughout his life was with the Nation of Islam, a black supremacist organization who exploited fed up black peoples' money. Only once Malcolm left them we saw the true him even if it was only for a year or 2

    • @joeyrufo

      But he was more of a Muslim and he only believed in the equality of people (since he used to be anti-white racist) when he went to mecca and saw Muslims of all races and skin colors whether white looking blond blue eyed white people or Black Africans or Brown people all together believing in the same god doing the pilgrimage and rituals also its this that convinced him of Islam. He might've shifted towards socialism at one point but he was a Muslim and he advocated for Islam and he said that if Islam was to be the religion of the US then there wouldn't be any racism which makes since especially since the prophet (pbuh) himself said in a Hadith (collection of his sayings) this: "There is no superiority for an Arab over a non-Arab, nor for a non-Arab over an Arab. Neither is the white superior over the black, nor is the black superior over the white -- except by piety." Basically he said that no one is superior over the other except by piety basically your only superior especially in the eyes of Allah (god) by your religiosity and actions in the world.

      I had to stop listening for a bit.
      When I was a little girl, my grandmother kept keys on a key ring that had one of those miniature plastic peep hole viewers on it…you looked inside, and there was a picture. Hers had a portrait of JFK, MLK, and RFK, together.
      It was very common to see the same portrait of those same three men printed up on paper fans, created by the town’s “Black” mortuary (Jim Crow followed you to the segregated grave), and distributed to the country Black churches in East Texas. The small country churches usually had no air conditioning, so in the Summer, you kept cool with a fan during the service. On the way to the pews, the usher gave you either a fan with a picture of blue-eyed Jesus on it, or a fan with a picture of The Three.
      (I was born a little over three weeks after MLK’s murder.)

    Not to disregard JT's contributions, but US-American history is already very widely spread on the Internet and in several podcasts; I'd rather expect from The Deprogram more about the untold stories from the Third World and marginalized groups in the imperial core's working class than from white capitalist leaders (both of which were directly involved in invasions, sabotages, terrorist attacks, and economic blockades against socialist countries) and two already well-known African American civil right activists.
    The format in itself could work, but it needs to tweak a little bit more the interaction and commenting aspect between the team.
    Also, I miss Hakim. Two episodes in a row without listening our favourite tired Iraki doctor is very sad.

But I'm not patriotic for symbolism like a bald eagle with and AK-47 in front of white stripes and bright stars, and I'm certainly not partriotic to the government. But I'm patriotic for the people, especially the revolutionaries--people that have had to fight AGAINST the government to progress their rights and the rights of others

      They should do at least a 3 or 4 part episode covering all the invasions and coup attempts in Latin America from the Cold War up to this day.

    I've also cut back on drinking recently, but a few nights ago I let loose with my brother, and I have to say, I don't really get hangovers much but boy howdy does a night of drinking make me need to go to the bathroom every five fucking minutes. Seriously, poo and pee, big ones, constantly.

    I don’t understand how even if it was Oswald in Mexico city how would that link him to Cuba or communists in general when Mexico had always been anti communist since the end of the Revolutionary era.

    • @waynetables6414
      @waynetables6414 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It has nothing to do with Mexico as a nation-state.. the implication surrounding his alleged trip to Mexico surrounds alleged visits to the Cuban and Soviet embassies, thats the communism bit. I personally was convinced he was a fake defector independent of whatever did or did not happen in Mexico so I've never even looked much into that bit of it

    • @Ajente02
      @Ajente02 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Despite Mexico's anticommunism is true, after the Revolution in 1910 Mexican foreign policy turned quite strongly towards neutrality and not intervention, so relationships between Mexico and Cuba (as well as Mexico and the USSR) were quite friendly. Mexico received Trotsky as an exile, for example. Also Fidel Castro and the July 26th Movement sailed into the Granma from Mexico. And many more revolutionary movements from Latin America choose Mexico as a neutral point from where to organize (including the ones from my country, the Dominican Republic).

    Buy top shelf and the longer you have it the better it’ll taste. It’s a show of class and restraint and respect for what you are consuming. And enjoy it in unique ways (snifters, splash of water, rocks or neat, smoked or even with garnishes) when you do.

    As a Slav living in "The West" if we're actually drinking, not just socially, I make sure to order a round or two of vodka to prevent them coming up with some bullshit concoctions
    Also I swear, nothing beats drinking vodka in the kitchen with some tasty things to snack on, like smoked meats and dill pickles.

    What kind of jobs did Malcolm and King have? Because I think about it today and I think yeah I would easily be able to go all over the place and do a lot of stuff if money wasn't an issue and I didn't have to spend at least 8 hours every day at a certain place in order to make money.

    I love that car documentary spoof you did with JFK's Continental but one thing you got wrong. Usually displacement with American cars of that vintage would be refered to in cubic inches (430 cui to be exact).
    Talking about cars what about doing an episode with Cars and Comrades?

      You seem like the kinda guy to know this... Isn't 300hp low from a 7ltr engine? Or is that pretty normal for back in the day? Seems crazy low to me but I know little about cars of that vintage.
