If you remove the backing paper from the thin foam strips before putting it on your diecut ,it is very easy to shape it around all the curves and corners.
I hav a friend who doesn't want to get into die-cutting because she knows people who stop stamping when they start die-cutting. Understandable. She is helping me set up my stamp room in new house, so I want to get her something she will use. Found some pretty scalloped oval and circle nesting dies that she can use with stamping and embossing folders. I will send her this video also to show her that they go together beautifully. Thanks so much, Justine! 😊
Thanks for showing the layering technique. I've admired it from afar but never sought out any videos showing me how to achieve it. I find CraftStash has a very nice selection of nesting dies at a good price. I purchased some very large ones as I have a tendency to make larger cards and the small ones for A2 cards just don't help much for them. Lovely cards. I do need to use that stamp set of yours. It's gorgeous and it's just sitting in it's binder.
Great tutorial and reminder to use our nesting dies. Another way, for the shaker card, is to cut multiples and glue them on top of each other until you get the desired height (instead of using foam tape). This might help with more intricate frame shapes. 😉 I hope your pregnancy is going well, you’re positively glowing 😊❤
Hi Justine! Thanks for this video. I have several nesting dies that I like having, but haven’t used as much as I thought I would. Well, now I’m encouraged to use them! ☺️ I may have missed it, but where did you get your jewel storage? I love that you can see what you’ve got. Thank you! Carla Bundy
Justine, this is awesome, I had forgotten that this was a thing. And need to grab these out again. Thank you again! your encouragement is truly appreciated.
Loved your ideas and forgot about that first card technique. I used to do that often and haven't for quite some time but do love that look. Thanks for a great video.
This was a wonderful video!!! I showed me so many ways that I can use the supplies I have for beautiful cards. Thank you for all of your great videos!!
I love that third card with the die cut on the edge! I'm fairly new to cardmaking, and learning so many different techniques I never even knew about is exciting! Thank you!
Thank you, Justine! Your tutorials are always fantastic!🥰🤗. The first card is giving me all types of ideas✨💖😍! I recently came across the “eclipse technique” as well. Off to make some mischief at my art desk!😉🙏🏾😎
I couldn’t see a link or info on the foam tape that you used in the first card. It was about 2 inches wide?? I would love to get some of that? Wondering where it is available! Love some info please!
Thank you for sharing all of your lovely videos and helpful tips! Would you mind sharing what brand of tape you use to hold your die cuts down? I’ve tried a few but they are a bit too strong and sometimes tears the paper.
I use a few different ones - mint tape from Scrapbookcom and the best tape from Spellbinders. I always stick it on my arm first before putting it onto the paper and haven't had troubles. If I forget to do that though, sometimes I get some tearing when it goes through the die cutting machine because of the pressure the machine puts on it. I never have issues with the tape if I am just holding stencils in place and not running it through a machine.
This is why I watch & I'm subscribed to your channel, you're SO TALENTED!! I love watching you and I always learn new techniques with you. Keep up the great videos & thank you so very much! @
Justine I have moved house and my Mysti stamp press got brockenand ruined,Im in Australia, can you please tell me ,where I can get a New Mysti Stamp press?
Sunflower card is my fav. I was wondering what brand of die cut machine you use. Looks so smooth and effortless. I have arthritis in my hands so I was curious because of its smooth performance.
I'm using a Platinum 6 in this video. Maybe an electric machine would be better for your hands though? Gemini Jr or Sizzix Switch? Then there is no cranking
LOVE your cards! Thank you! Starting on the second one now. But, I have a problem when I make any shaker cardsl Here's my questoin: How do you solve the "static" problem with the shaker cards? I've tried a lot of the suggestions on the internet -- (softener sheet wiped on the inside of the acetate or window but it scratches the acetate) -- (static powder in the packet AND the static powder that comes in the plastic tube but that leaves a cloudy residue and neither works anyway) -- (smaller "gizmos" or heavier "gizmos" -- that doesn't seem to make any difference either) -- (using a combination of materials for the "gizmos" -- nope!) --- I'm about to give up! HELP!
to be honest, I just let that small stuff go. I don't use anything, shaker bits stick places, I don't find it a big deal. Sorry to not be very helpful! I just stick enough in the shaker that there are still lots of shaky bits

This lesson is extremely useful. Thanks

The thin strips of foam work well, too, for following things like thin cuts.
I love your new Sunflower Collection. Such a beautiful card with that elegant sunflower border die.
Thanks for sharing this technique it’s simple but what a wow factor. 🥰💕

Or cut the frame from a layer or two of fun foam.
I luv the fun foam. It makes the shaker process so much easier.
I love the sunflowers. I haven’t done the nesting dies in a long time. Thanks for the reminder and refresher!

Thank you! ❤
Wow where did u get that foam tape from!! I need that!! Gorgeous!!
It’s so great and lasts forever shrsl.com/48ch7
Very nice…thank you
Where can you buy that extra wide foam roll?
Take a colored pen and go around the edges of die cuts before glueing them down. I'LL bet it will make them stand out.
Very nice 😊
Where did you get the case you have your sequins in?
I couldn’t see a link or info on the foam tape that you used in the first card. It was about 2 inches wide?? I would love to get some of that? Wondering where it is available! Love some info please!

Do you mark the back side or the stamping side?
Back side

Justine I have moved house and my Mysti stamp press got brockenand ruined,Im in Australia, can you please tell me ,where I can get a New Mysti Stamp press?
I don’t live in Australia so I’m not sure. It’s available at many online retailers in the USA and Europe

@@justinehovey Ok, Great. I appreciate knowing which brands to investigate. A daunting category for sure!

How come one is a frame and the other is solid? 5:55
Depends if you use one die or two. If you use two (one must be larger than the other), you get a grand. If you just use one, it’s a solid

Hi. Thank you for sharing this, you've revived my interest in my nesting dies with another winner of a video. Have a super day.😊
I love to watch your videos, but please turn up your volume!!!
I've never had a volume complaint on my videos and only have my volume 1/3 up.
I have a ton of dies...from Hobby Lobby on clearance...but most nesting dies from Temu for under 3$..every die has been perfect...😂
I don't support Temu as they steal from me and my fellow creators
You have such great ideas! Thank you
