I can't believe I'm watching this video right now. I woke up around 3am to use the restroom and saw a new SF video was up. Did I go back to sleep because I have work tomorrow? HELL NO! Did I turn the volume down and hit play? HELL YEAH!!! I'm totally watching it now.
I love how respectful you are. You always check sizes and know your seasons, what you can and can't eat and you're not greedy. But what you claim looks so delicious. Mussels are a favourite of mine xx
Another instant classic. Glad you discovered a new favorite. One thing I can say about Mississippi, lots of oysters. So many ways to prepare. And during the course of the year, the taste changes drastically. From perfectly salty, to bland. I must say, saw, dipped in some sauce with fresh lemon (sauce = tabasco, cocktail sauce, ground horseradish) is the absolute way to go. Thanks for sharing, thanks for putting the rocks back and the care you take with our Mother Earth and our neighbor Earthlings. Good on ya Gulf Coast USA ~rad~
I've only just watched all of your videos in one go almost. Loved it all. You both have a very contagious positive attitude. All the best dudes. Hope there are plenty more videos to come.
Great to see you finding yet more amazing seafood and interesting to see a German bunker from the occupation of Guernsey, a truly crazy period in our history! Good to see Sam wearing his help for heros top, supporting our troops as well as cooking up a storm. Awesome stuff boys! 👍 ✊
I love my seafood raw.. brought up that way. Well done to you both.. The seaweed I like is very fine.. and needs to be dried first. It is then cooked with a little bit of water, butter and bacon.. lovely to eat. Good show guys.
Always admire your courage to stick limbs under rocks. Here in Australia, we have many, many deadly creatures that love hiding under rocks. You have to be careful even just walking around the rock pools ahah.
Brilliant once again . One major thing I would change is swapping real butter from the "cooking butter" you are using. ! molecule away from plastic, really.
Ur lucky ur near a beach. I live in Masterson, so I'll have to travel to riversdale or Wellington to get to a beach. And they dont really have anything.
There you go Jay, like I said a while back, Shore fishing Essex gets plenty of those Pacific oysters and cooks and eats them a lot. It's odd really as I live on the Pacific Northwest coast of Southern Oregon and guess what? We are not allowed to collect wild oysters by law! We have to get them from the oyster farms here on the coast. Apart from eating them raw like my wife does whilst I am trying to cook them after coating in seasoned flour, egg wash and panko. whilst frying them for a minute per side ( shucked oysters). We also cook them on the half shell on a BBQ grill with crushed or (tubed) garlic with a dash of tequila. Really good with garlic bread. Anyway, great video as always.
I am so Glad that the lobster got away so you guys could enjoy the Pacific Oysters. LOL . Glad to see that you Guys are including the Greens. A balanced diet. Maybe some wild garlic next time. See how good the Oysters are. Nice Variety. Cook the Seaweed properly and don't put it back in the water. You might enjoy it.
Hey m8 I live in australia I love ur vidz a little tip if u want to try seaweed to eat try abit of bull kelp or lettuce seaweed with little garlic and pepper ,you can even dry it out and eating that way ...... Be safe and keep up the good work brother 😀
When you are sautéing the in the pan wit the butter, just before they are ready to finish off, pour a bit of white wine in the pan. You will love it. And i do love your channel. Keep it up
I love your foraging videos. I would love to do it where I am but the water isn't clean enough... loads of signs up saying not to take shellfish. There is a massive petro-chemical plant upstream too.Keep up the good work mate
Yep your oysters will be escapes from the farm they wont usually survive. Often you find them after storms when they loose the bags. We used to see a lot around Rocquaine after big storms when they had the fish farm there.
Looks really good, mate. Chilli garlic sauce with clams, mussels, or other shellfish is really great if you like garlic flavor with a bit of a kick. Also, after sautéing the shell fish, you can finish it off by adding a bit of dry white wine. That gives them a great flavor.
The subscriber was right with adding oil, oil increases the heat at which butter will burn so you're less likely to burn it while sauteeing, you can use various oils personally I use rice bran oil as it has less flavor to it. I can recommend if you like Asian flavors, bring a light soy sauce and some wasabi to dip the meat in and if you can be bothered, some sushi rice would go lovely with such fresh seafood :D
Another great video lads. We eat those oysters raw here in Florida but I guess you can never be too careful. Your videos are top notch. Keep up the good work!!!!
Mmmm nice big oysters smash...eatem raw with lemon ...over here in New Zealand we have a seaweed us maori call parengo...I think craig Evan's called it tar weed or something like that...its so yummy to me...full of iron ...we also eat bubus...that's wat we call the snails..put them in vinegar with onion, tomato, water n little bit of sugar ...yummy as...cool clip 😎
Love your accents! Where I live in New York, those born and raised here have a distinct accent. I am one of them. I love living close to the ocean. You always look like you are having a great time. 🦞🦀
Dried dulse is widely eaten as a snack as you would a packet of crisps here in N.Ireland, it's also eaten in salads served with sea food, it can also be deep fried (for 5 to 10 seconds) and eaten with dips such as guacamole.
with the seaweed stir-fry it with a small amount of butter, oil, garlic and salt to make it go crispy (when i say small amount i mean just coat the pan)...you use too much that it boils the seaweed....crispy seaweed is lovely and you can put it on the stuff you eat for a extra texture so it's not all soft stuff you're eating.
I used to get dried dulse in PEI, it's ssoooooo freaking good. it's veyr salty and high in iron you can dry it, and crush it up and sprinkle it on your food or add it to the wateror butter mixture you coopk your other seafood in for natural saltiness or just eat the dry strips for a snack. i love the stuff i cant get it here in ontario i wish i could find somewhere online to buy it at a decent price.
The red seaweed is Chondria armata (Kützing) Okamura otherwise called Japanese Algaebase comes from Spain. Another great video boys, greetings from Sydney Australia, Pacific Rock Oysters are common here, best eaten raw and remember to check them for pearls occasionally you will find one , but Pacific's are not pearl oysters. They can be cooked but if you over cook them they go rubbery.
I know this is super late jay but in the future if you forget some more oysters you should try them on the bar-B they are absolutely delicious that way, or put them in a frying pan with just enough water to create steam add some garlic and butter 😋👌 beautiful I tell ya!!
Love your vids from the USA.....tell Sam he should invest into a Stone Cold STEVE AUSTIN shirt that says HELL YEAH...... Sams and Steve's favorite remark]]
Hi Guys, you are really lucky to have those beautiful foods. PLEEEASE do not waste your amazing sauce. Garlic butter dripping everywhere!!! Maybe try a slosh of white wine also in your sauce. Best Wishes from a jealous, wanna be foraging guy in Chester.
Great video Jay & Sam, Hell Yeah!! Really enjoy watching your video's all the time (I'm always on your channel now) 😀 it was a shame you didn't get a Larry 🦞 aswell, that would have been an awesome meal (it was anyway) but you know what I mean, take care guy's & ATB 🙂🥃👍 Andy
You grill the oyster if your going to cook them, Open them and put them on the grill on the half shell and put a little butter on them, cook till the butter start to bubble then enjoy. maybe with a little lemon juice
Hey Jay! It's good to see a new video of yours. The video has been as great as usual but I'd like to suggest you eat oyster raw next time, just adding a bit of lemon juice to it ( from fresh lemons, not the one that comes in bottles) in France they also mix it with bread (with butter on it) I'd also like to suggest you a challenge :)! How about you meet with a couple friends and the three of you get four hours to see who gets the most edible catches! Also, I suggest using olive oil to cook rather than butter as it's much more healthy ( and I assumed everyone used it but I see it's maybe a spanish thing rather than a worldwide thing lol!) Anyways, hope to see you around. Cheers from Spain.
Awesome video! I love oysters! Next time shuck them raw, put on grill in half shell with garlic butter and cook til done! Delish! Im in USA, New York. Any spices you want or need? Ill send ya something!
Royal MC You must be careful about eating anything raw anymore. You can get all kinds of bad things doing this. At last the good old days are gone. I remember when you could just break off a nice fat oyster and open it up and gobble it up right on the spot, but now you must be careful because of pollution. These guys I see are aware of this. Food doesn't get better than this we enjoy this too. Good eating!
They do eat them raw but they wanted to try cooking them. You can see him in a few videos finding an oyster and opening/eating right then and there and then off to find crab or lobster.
I can't believe I'm watching this video right now. I woke up around 3am to use the restroom and saw a new SF video was up. Did I go back to sleep because I have work tomorrow? HELL NO! Did I turn the volume down and hit play? HELL YEAH!!! I'm totally watching it now.

Devin augo ALL devins have a good sense of humor and make good jokes but I'm A Devon and your joke sucked xD.
What do you know
A year late, but 2:55am for me same thing unbelievable haha
I love how respectful you are. You always check sizes and know your seasons, what you can and can't eat and you're not greedy. But what you claim looks so delicious. Mussels are a favourite of mine xx
I could live my life eating this food every day
As my grandmother used to say: when the going gets tough and bread becomes hard to come by....JUMP INTO THE SEA AND CATCH YOURSELF SOME LOBSTER!!
Another instant classic. Glad you discovered a new favorite. One thing I can say about Mississippi, lots of oysters. So many ways to prepare. This is the type of content that made me love the channel. Top notch.
This is so awesome to see!!
SAM:....."HELL YEAH"!!.... Love it.. Watching you from North Carolina USA!!
Lay the oysters directly on the fire with the flat shell up. When they pop open, they are done.
Eat the oysters raw thats how we eat them in south Louisiana.
that's the way we eat them in NYC & in South Florida. Imagine boiling them for 30 minutes & turning them into HARD RUBBER. lol
30min boil!!!! WTH
Raw and fresh is the best
Lime juice and hot sauce!!
Lemon and Tabasco sauce. Raw.
Brilliant once again . One major thing I would change is swapping real butter from the "cooking butter" you are using. ! molecule away from plastic, really.
Love the videos I’ve only seen the ocean once in my 35 years so take full advantage

Your really inspiring me to go coastal foraging. I just need to find a good coastline to go foraging here in Auckland!

When you are sautéing the in the pan wit the butter, just before they are ready to finish off, pour a bit of white wine in the pan. You will love it. And i do love your channel. Keep it up

I love your video’s! Greetings from Belgium.
When I see the notif of a video uploaded I'm like, "Earphones! Earphones! Dont disturb me!!😂😂😋"
You grill the oyster if your going to cook them, Open them and put them on the grill on the half shell and put a little butter on them, cook till the butter start to bubble then enjoy. maybe with a little lemon juice
Those oysters are best barbecued or baked. You wait for them to open then put your butter with garlic. It is so delicious,
Awesome stuff lads... you should finely chop the dulse up and use like parsley next time.
Love the video and the video quality seems good too guys keep up the good work I'm a new subscriber

You're cute.
Nice work guys, great content. I would love to see some creatures who you shouldnt eat or even touch (eg poisonous).
Interesting and unique channel!
Idk why but I like your videos
Pacific oysters are unusual to find because they’re farmed in this county. You have escapees! I find them where I live too
Those oysters look fkn delicious mate
Try the oysters raw next time. They will also be larger in size as all that cooking shriveled them up.
Royal MC You must be careful about eating anything raw anymore. You can get all kinds of bad things doing this. At last the good old days are gone. the scorpion fish if you hold it on it’s back and press down a little they vibrate
