Maybe it’s just a matter of location, but where I’m from northern pike are easier to catch than bass. I’ve caught a few bass mostly on accident, but it’s no issue to catch pike all day.
Yeah it’s a challenge! Using a lure I can dip underwater gives me a little more room to work with and not lead the fish directly back to my kayak. I tried it with another lure I had to keep on top today and had a difficult time. I think it would be easier to just lead the fish around my kayak and keep them moving.

All jokes aside you are amazing working a snake lure. That looked exactly like a snake and pretty much how it would move in the water while being chased. It was fun to watch.
60 years ago at a fishing/vacation lifestyle show in Minneapolis a musky fisherman from Iowa put on a presentation and encouraging us to always use a figure 8 at the end of a musky cast!
Biggest largemouth bass i have ever caught was caught off a 2ft black snake I caught fishing a farm pond. I saw it in the grass and hooked it thru the mouth and threw it out. The water exploded when that bass hit it.
Agreed. I did a muskie trip once. Two weeks of hard fishing to catch one that fought like this. It was big, but not much of a challenge to land. I wish I would've targeted the largemouth and other fish there in Wisconsin. Muskie are nothing like a Bluefin tuna, or even a Steelhead.
Was fishing with my grandpa and uncle and when it was time to reel in I still had my line in water. Grandpa just started the engine anyways and started taking off at full speed I'm still reeling in my line.... and I feel something tug as I'm basically trolling and reeling at high speed all at once I looked at my uncle and yelled over the engine "I think I caught something!" He just frowned at me shook his head and looked away. Sure enough I finally reeled in (as we're still going)and i did in fact snag a little fish in the side of the belly. Now to this day I don't know if it chased my hook and got get in a freak accident or if it was just in the wrong place at the wrong time but it was definitely a once in a lifetime experience for any fisherman.
Nice Trish I did this with a spinner bait they never scared of the boat it was a pickrel. Nice fish! Never caught a Muskie they are a tuff catch where I live I’ll get one day! Tried a few times this year but primarily a bass angler. Ty for video. Where I’m from they are called the fish of 10 k casts lol 😂
The figure 8 method works great for dock snook at night with phosphorus in the water. A jigger pole for jigging. Old day's some old guys were jiggers and did the figure 8 off a dock to catch anything predatory.
That was a sick eat bro I love the content man and I have the same YAK and same Muskie lures and I have them smashing savage gear glides and Muskie Dawgs right at the yak and it’s always insane love the channel keep slaying em 🎣🎣🎣

That’s an absolute heck of a catch. What a figure 8 you played that perfectly. Congrats

Definitely looked bigger in the water. Thought it was an actual river monster
That Muskie is thinking “dammit I knew there was something wrong with that snake, my friends are never going to believe my abduction story”.
As big as those fish are they have no fighting power. It didn't even pull any line.
Probably drag is set really tight I mean that’s heavy line it’s never gonna snap so no need to loosen drag
They are known for their fighting power.
This must be the ONLY musky video you’ve ever seen.
Yeah they're just one big log. A big smallmouth will pull line for a long time.
And we all know now that you have no idea what you’re talking about.
Who’s playing with whose food?
That snake was channeling its inner Barry Sanders.
Thanks for getting it out of the net and showing it to us.

Never saw a pole be put under the water as a way to drag the lure and catch the fish.

I was expecting a better fight. A 2 pound trout fights better ❤️
Cant really put up a fight if the line is very strong.

What do you fish for?
Dont know what he fish for but Tuna changed my fishing life. Esp Tuna up to 50Lb land based using muskie gear casting out metal plugs
