    I just two weeks ago picked up the Orient Ray 2 Orange 🍊 dial for only $161 . This is really an outstanding watch for what little you pay . Incredible value . I wish I had bought one earlier but am very satisfied having it in my collection.

      +@1968jpy Well said. Mine still works great. No problems. Love wearing it.

    I got myself a blue orient ray about 7-8 years ago to mark a milestone, and I've always enjoyed wearing it.
    The blue dial is just mesmerizing and I love how it can be both subdued when it's not exposed to light directly, and then just shimmer when it's out in the sun!

      I agree. Orient makes excellent watches.

    Great review. I have this watch in my collection. I would like to mention that most people are asleep when the date changeover takes place. So really, it’s not a big deal in day to life living.

    I own 5 various Ray’s and Mako’s, all with crystal/bezel/insert/strap upgrades or other mods and I absolutely love them! There are tons of options for mods and I made each one unique. I discovered lots of deals on excellent condition, second-hand examples on EBay and I paid around $100 and another $100-$150 in upgrades each and I will never see anyone else with my watch on and I never get bored tinkering with them.

    I have the exact same watch and I have loved Orient for 30 years. SK Diver 1981 was my first.

    How did you get screwed in links? Did you change the bracelet? My Ray2 has push pins.

    The day is indicated as LUN (french). Outside is THU. How to have a watch with the days in French or English?

    • @exexpat11
      @exexpat11 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is there are French Orient website? I know they also have Japanese/English and Chinese/English so they probably have a French/English.

    • @dragonniz
      @dragonniz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the older model Ray 1, but the day/date setup is the same. The days are actually in Spanish & English, LUN for Lunes.
      Lun, Mar, Mie, Jue.. Etc
      I don't think there's a French & English version out there. But hey, maybe you can do a custom Day wheel and have it installed, that would be cool!

    although i like the style and look of the bracelet, the hollow end links and very poorly made clasp(the folding part) are a no go for me. it has been in the box since day one. there are lots of aftermarket straps and/or bracelets that take this watch to another level.

    • @watchyouknow
      @watchyouknow  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! And in my upcoming full review you will see it on a dark brown leather strap.

      I wear mine on a Bond NATO strap. I also replaced the mineral crystal with a sapphire one, and added a lumed sapphire bezel insert.

    Even if Seiko owns 52 percent of Orient they have no say as to how or what Orient does .The movement was designed by and made by Orient.
    I've heavily modded mine and wouldn't trade it for a new Steinhart .You won't find a blue face anywhere like it not even on the new model from Orient.
    Min is 7 sec fast and I don't care.

    Great watch, had mine for years and it's still very accurate and looks cool. It's especially nice on the solid Jubilee bracelet from Long Island Watch.
