    how did you get it to work with a yellow learn button on your garage controller? the garage control cam shows not compatible with garage opener models that have a yellow learn button

    • @threadchemistry
      @threadchemistry  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Mihir. So personally I didn't do anything with the learn button. Did you wire in the long white wire that came with the Eufy garage control? Did you take that wire and twist it with the already installed wires that go to your garage door button?? (probably near the door to your house.)

    I have a chamberlain MyQ garage door opener. Does this Eufy garage door opener and camera device replace my MyQ? I wonder if the Eufy garage door camera can also open my gate as well since my MyQ app can open both the garage door and gate.

    • @threadchemistry

      @@threadchemistry I found the "MAJOR SECURITY THREAT" video after posting this comment. Is that the video you are referring to? If so, I think that is a different issue (and a really bad one). The issue I'm having is the app will send me a notification saying my garage door has been opened for 10 minutes. But when I check the door, it's closed. It's just the app reporting it incorrectly. I think I might just return this thing, as I will have a couple weeks in my return window. Thanks for the videos, they are very helpful.

    • @threadchemistry
      @threadchemistry  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Evolved So I have 2 different garage cam and sensors. Eufy's and another one from the Oochi brand. The "Open Sesame" from them. (Love that name). Anyway, their instructions say to put the sensor up as high as you can on the garage door. I would assume it would work the same for eufy. So you could try that or maybe even position it at the bottom if that doesn't work bc I do believe the sensor is what's going to fix your problem. I would give that a shot and let me know what you find out.

      @@threadchemistry, that's basically what I'm asking. Eufy decided they didn't want to add a battery or find a way to power it through the garage door directly. There MUST be an outlet close enough to power it.

    • @threadchemistry
      @threadchemistry  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes there does but since there's always a plug for the garage door opener power you should be good. It's quit a long cord too.

    Recently added eufy floodlight camera and front doorbell dual cam very happy with products so far. Really like the advice about MyQ and deliveries. Would having MqQ and a eufy camera be maybe a better setup? Would like being able to know if left garage door open with camera to verify and also the delivery option sounds great.

      I have MyQ set up with Amazon. I love it. I just wish there were more company options for the Amazon link bc the MyQ cam is junk. But it's only $3 a month for MyQ and to link. So i have a eufy garage control and MyQ (and actually a 3rd smart garage control and Cam for a start up company.) And don't ever look at the MyQ cam. It's strictly there for the Amazon deliveries.. so I would recommend it, yes, but your idea to just watch them would work but how often can u give your cameras 24/7 attention..

    Installed over a year ago. I love eufy products, that's why I'm putting up with: the garage hardware/app is slow and glitchy (have to turn off wifi on iphone or won't work from driveway!). Sometimes just won't work, no matter what. Also, there is NO WAY to have it monitor for HOW LONG the garage is open and either close it automatically OR close it (if still open) after a certain time of day! Seems rudimentary for other products but eufy...? What gives?

    lol, I now know that these folding phones have a new concern for me. They likely need a case which would then make them even thicker. Cool phone, great video. This was a good video. Thank you for making it. It didn't answer the question for what I was searching for. I want to see how far outside of the garage this projects video wise especially at night time with outdoor light. Since you moved this to the back of the garage as opposed to the opener, even if you put it on the opener, it wouldn't have helped me. So I'm going to buy one and see. Thanks again.

    • @threadchemistry
      @threadchemistry  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well it's technically made for the garage. It does have a great view angle and very good 2k resolution, however I focus mine to show the garage because right outside the garage I have the eufy floodlight + cam. So mine covers the whole garage and a couple feet outside the garage if it's open, and then the eufy floodlight cam covers from the end of the garage cam all the way out across the street and a wide angle left and right.
      That being said if you're only going to use this it does has good night resolution, however no matter where you stick it you have to remember the top of the opening of the garage door is going to limit your view regardless. But you csn definitely get some decent distance out of it by angling the camera on the unit itself as you can tilt it up or down from the unit.. Hope all thay helps.

    I like these garage door controllers that use a camera instead of the usual magnetic switch to detect if the doors are closed as it also provides you with a camera/motion sensor that you can access with routines with your smart speakers but both Wyze and Eufy makes it difficult to order from their US web page if you're not in the US and as the websites won't allow non-US shipping addresses and they don't carry their garage door openers on their foreign web sites (Eufy are not even carrying their Homebase 3 outside the US yet, only their Homebase 2). I also like the Eufy products for cloud subscriptions not being required but they do need to address the problem of videos on their Homebase being deleted if the sync button on the remote devices are pressed long enough, they could probably just fix this in software and I would've expected a fix by now so it would be worth checking if such a fix exists.
    The Wyze says they use AI to determine if the doors are open or closed through the camera but their photos shows a QR2 code on the doors so apparently it doesn't take a lot of AI. This Eufy sensor unit doesn't really make sense as both the wired magnet switch or the QR2 code would be simpler, less costly solutions and would not require batteries.
    Note that not all garage door openers use continuity terminals for wall switches as some use wall keypads so you need to test the terminals by shorting them to see if that triggers the garage door (a needle nose pliers does this easily).
