Cheap, Easy, and Safe Lobster Diving Set Up

There's a lot of different ways to set up your gear for lobster diving. In this video one of our instructors shows you his preferred lobster diving setup and why. This biggest difference is the incorporation of a float line and float. This allows you to not have to dive with the lobster bag around your waist which greatly reduces your risk of snagging. It also provides a visual for boat traffic and for your dive buddies so they always know where you're at. Nathan likes to clip a small weight off to the other end of the floatline which makes diving easier without adding extra weight directly to your weightbelt and keeps you from dangerously overweighting yourself. It also gives you the flexibility to mark spots since bad visibility and current can make it very difficult to locate the same spot on multiple dives.
