Blues isn't about being technically proficient, AND HE'LL SAY SO. Blues is about feeling, telling a message, and passion. THAT is why BB is a king. Listen to what the music has to say, that's what blues is all about.
Can't even imagine what must be like for musicians that work and tour with him... Think about it, you living by, playing with, you receiving applauses side by side with the man that made everything that made your life worth living... He is the king.

I saw BB's show using the core band, in a small club in Coconut Grove ,Miami FLA. He was amazing. What a voice. He has it all, charisma, showmanship , ability to execute. What an entertainer!
B.B. King will always be a blues legend to me. I've been a fan of his since I was 3 yrs. old. I just like his guitar techniques. I like the does that vibrato with his index finger. I like how he bends the strings too.
I play rhythm guitar and sing in a metal band, but I LOVE B.B King, I'm a huge blues fan in general and I respect the sound and wish more people my age enjoyed it the way I do, Its like if I want to go see a blues show I have to pay my friends to go with me, I have to play metal because I dont have the voice to play the blues, I wish I could but it wouldn't sound smooth at all. Tons of respect to anybody that has the soul and voice to play the blues

Drunk? Over 80 years old and still got the blues! I hate it when legends turn into caberet stars in their old age (eg Rolling Stones). Thank goodness BB can still perform from the heart and raise comments like yours. There are are very few that can. Leonard Cohen and Richie Havens are two others.
I saw him live in south MS last friday. Best show I've ever seen. Hard to believe a guy that's 83 can still rock the house like he does. If you get the chance I'd say find a way to see him.
I love the expressions he has while singing. I got to see a show about two years ago. I'm glad I don't waste my youth listening to the crap other kids listen to.
