How to sand cast a bangle - with cast in place faceted sapphires -horizontal flask -multiple sprues

  • In this two part video I show you have to sand cast in place bangles with cast in place faceted sapphires.
    Part one I use a vertical flask to sand cast a bangle, I use the bead setting style for casting in place the sapphires.
    Part two I use a horizontal flask using the multiple sprue technique. I cast in place faceted sapphires using the bead setting style.

    Please can I ask a question? If it went horrible wrong and you needed to cast again, how would you get your stones back out? Or isn’t that possible?

      Either cut/bend them free. Or smash them out. Or melt the metal and pull the stones out of the molten metal :)

      7.5 and harder on the hardness scale is a good guide. But really just experiment and see what works :)
