    I had a 2004 and fit fine. I'm 6'3 and a bit and 21stone. It's a small call but I found it very comfortable!

      No idea why that would be but if that's something thats not a issue for you just means can enjoy the car even more

    I always wanted one of these when I was younger. Finally owned one a couple of years ago. 2008 SIII 2.0L . Yes the 2.0 is the best balance. Not as breathless as the 1.6, but there is no real noticeable step up in power for the 2.7L V6. It's just a big lump that makes it more expensive to tax, insure and run. performance wise it'll still get smoked by a chav in a corsa VXR.
    I thought it was OK to drive. Handled OK.
    They're ultimately good for people that want a car that looks good on the drive way. No denying it's a good looking car. Is also very reliable in my experience. Absolutely zero issues and mine had done 97K miles. Took it up to around 107K.

    I think they look a lot better with Tuscani badging, something you have to watch for with the V6 is the "knock of death" due to the crankshaft main bearings being made of cheese.

    • @chriscarlisle8997

      Should they be replaced? For preventative maintenance?

    • @rodpanhard
      @rodpanhard 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@chriscarlisle8997 It's a very involved job just to be prevenatative, it's just something to bear in mind when buying one or if you regularly thrash your car at high revs, they just don't hold up to it. If they go then you can get a crank regrind and put heavier bearing shells on it but if they are OK I don't see the point as it's the exact same expense doing preventative as it is to do the job if they fail so might as well just leave them be and hope for the best. They are a known weakness in the V6 engine though.

      @@rodpanhard did you run yours with french fries oil? i had two V6's with over 300k on them with the first engine and i drove the piss out of them. also i worked 6 years on hyundai/kia and we didnt have one 2.7l with engine problems

      That's why it's better to go with a 2.0l - it's lighter so the car is more nimble, the cranshaft doesn't have problems and you can beat on it as much as you want (the whole engine is more or less bulletproof) and if you really feel the 20hp difference takes away from the experience - slap on a cold air intake and modify the exhaust and with an ECU tune you're looking at around the same numbers as the V6 (and this is without a turbine) so yup, apart from the sort of shitty sound (which is not really THAT bad) the i4 is a better all around option - durable, peppy and of course with the 5 speed manual (that really NEEDS that 6th gear) you'll manage to pull some fun out of this lil coupe, I love it :D@@rodpanhard

    I'm 5'11" mate. Loads of headroom in my 05 v6. I understand your points but I love it for the looks. Nice sound with a KnN filter on too. Motorway cruising I get around 35 to the gallon, not too shabby. Definitely something to enjoy as it eats those miles in comfort.

      They are defitnitly a great car.... Not sure what has been my favourite car...
      But for motorway driving this is defitinitly up there!

    I've got a 2.0 2008 SIII, love it I saw the V6's but as you say, I couldn't justify the tax, I had a 2.0 2004 before this and I can defiantly feel the difference, but indeed you have more torque :P I am in the uk so feel free to hit me up :)

      Nice would definitely be up for a meet up, is there much difference you found between the 2008 and 2004?

      @@SplodgeMotors it feels heavier, but better...more of a car, although I felt I could throw the 04 about abit more if you get me hah. also i haven't checked them side by side but it feels a littler longer at the front. overall more responsive and handles higher speeds better. interior is a lot nicer too, heated seats and not so old fashioned dials. I'm going to add an android tablet into the centre, if I did that to the 04 it would have looked strange.

      Aw fair so over all a more refined drive and more updated, sounds good mate and worth it these days as the price difference between them isn't that much at all

    Edit: Just realised I mentioned about Sonata and Grandeur on another video, still don't get their game plan with this vs 3.3L 250 bhp they used in other models! In America and Korea they did Turbos and superchargers which would make this a beast.

    • @SplodgeMotors
      @SplodgeMotors  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would have to be a supercharger over a turbo I feel, the best thing about this car is how instant the power delivery is and I would want to keep that going as much as possible

    im getting my first car in about a year. i watched another video on this car from you where you praised it. shitty thing is with 8 dollars a gallon i dont think its gonna be amazong whitch 28mpg. where i live i can catch one for 2-3,5k usd. would you consider it worth it. i dont really see any other semi fun reliable cars at that pricepoint where i live sadly. btw amazing videos

      I can't say much for the price not being from the US I don't know if that's good or not there but I will definitely recommend the car, it's huge fun as you might have see in our track day video and if you do want one will probably be better to get it soon as I feel it's not long before they start going up in price

    1:50 If you fly out to the Netherlands, we can take my 2.0 for a spin ;)
    I'm 6'2 and I'm actually fine, I do sit quite far back and with quite an angle in every car though.
    YES. Customization is very difficult... finally found a reasonable exhaust, price wise, for mine. I am hoping to get it next month.
