I've read that this is actually a Hokuto no Ken game set before the nuclear war, but Taito couldn't secure the rights to the Hokuto name. Sega is very protective of the name. Same goes for KURI KINTON too. Also a Hokuto no Ken game.
@Gundanout11: According to the Japanese arcade flyer for this game, that boss is named Wolfkid (flyers.arcade-museum.com/?page=thumbs&db=videodb&id=3401). But yeah, that's totally Jagi from Hokuto No Ken, LOL. I wonder how Taito got away with this without getting sued by Tetsuo Hara and Buronson.
The final boss also looks like Juda from HNK, my theory is that this game started as HNK beat em up but later in the development proccess they didn't get to an agreement and lost the license from Buronson.
Loader2K1 Taito weren't the developers on this they were only the publishers. The developers were East Technologies. The reason they didn't get sued, probably because they didn't know about it. It is a pretty obscure game
I love how the plot of this game is a total mess... You got a doctor who wants to rule a city, then he randonly kidnaps a girl, just for the heck of it, then you find out the doctor is a robot at the end... I know that beat'em up games tend to have poor plot development, but this game managed to get it to another level! Also... this playthrough would've been better if you weren't just fucking around by doing jump kicks all the time, or like at the fight against the sumo dude on the first stage, where you were waiting for the "hey!" part of the music just to finish him off...
It seems pretty straightforward to me. The mad doctor wants to rule the city, he knows the Silent Dragon team are the only ones who can stop him so he abducts someone close to them to lure them into a trap, and he transferred his brain into a robot presumably so he could live forever.
Silent Dragon is a major improvement over East Technology's previous effort... the damn terrible Double Dragon 3 arcade. I admit you can find a better beat'em up than SD, but it's still good.
The "map screen" sound is one of the more annoying sounds I've heard in my life, and the "sword swipe" sound sounds like someone needs to replace their windshield wipers. I appreciate the playthrough of the rare 90s brawler I never encountered, though.
Judging by how many racist police there are, especially in the USA the world would definitely be better if we had badasses like these four characters. Something I have always noticed about this game, when the villains fall they land on their head and when the hero falls, he lands on his back.

For me, the weirdest part of this game is NOT the facts that this game features a tranny mad scientist (I watched Agent Aika after all), and that his gang also have mutants, and that one of the itens that you collect for points is a LIPSTICK, and that stage 3 boss is Jagi from Fist of the North Star, AND that said mad scientist turns into a robot at the end. For me the weirdest part starts at 27:30 . If I was any of the characters of this game, I would NOT JUMP on the same pit I used to kill all those goons, only to find there's nothing there. Which raises the question: What was been killing these guys in the first place? And no, don't tell me it's that literal fire wall because the guys fell vertically and the other guys you kill down there didn't died instantly from that.
I'm guessing it's because they fell and hit their head etc. - or it's just standard video-game logic where if you fall off-screen, you die, regardless of what's there. It's usually fruitless to over-analyze these things.

Look at it from this, without this game, would we have Spyro the dragon? No! Before PS1s, and Nintendo DS and wiis, we had these, these things were the future. But then to be fair I am a bit of a fan of vintage videogames, toys, comics, cartoons and children's programmes.

Wow, I never heard of this game. And after seeing it, I can safely say that I didn't miss out on anything.
I like the twist that the doctor is actually a robot, the first time I played this, I never thought he was a robot.
Most video games in the 90's were built on a Terminator high. Everyone wanted human robots in their media.
