      @@yourcordialvermillionchapw2398 Constraints? As in time constraints, that's understandable, animators and other workers shouldn't be rushed. But if you meant restrictions? Netflix has none of that, they let Big Mouth some how hit their service and I don't know why. But for how graphic novel adaptations go on Netflix, remember Hilda?

      Sounds cool, but how long would it last... I mean, it's a nine book series. Maybe you could make one season or multiple small seasons but without filler it would be short and just the series. But moving.

    The best thing about Bone is it's the epitome of an ageless comic. It reads equally well whether the reader is 8 or 50. That's an impressive accomplishment in this day and age.

      At one point a movie was planned but it would've been a travesty;
      In the late 90s, an attempt was made by Nickelodeon Movies to produce a film adaptation of Bone. Jeff Smith said in a 2003 interview that Nickelodeon wanted the Bone cousins to be voiced by pre-teen actors, and wanted the film's soundtrack to include popsongs by the likes of N'Sync. Smith's response was that one would never insert pop songs in the middle of The Lord of the Rings or The Empire Strikes Back, and therefore pop songs should not be placed in Bone either.

    Grew up reading these comics, from 2007 to 2013. Even bought the novelised sequel spin-off that didn't really go anywhere.
    It's really amazing how Jeff wrote the volumes as a sort of chronicle that evolved bit by bit, starting as a humerous, surreal fantasy to an epic, action-packed, horror-fantasy. You can really tell that Jeff studied a lot of mythology; I'll bet he even was a D&D fan.

    I LOVED Bone! I remember seeing pictures from the comic in Wizard Magazine, and I think an interview with Jeff Smith, and being intrigued by it, but not finding any issues. A friend of mine in high school had the first two volumes, and one night while sleeping over at his house, I read them both as he slept. I WAS HOOKED! But, I still didn't buy them, but would talk to people about it when the topic of comic books or cartoons would come up.
    2011(??) I finally decided to get the BIG COLLECTED volume from Amazon, and I was going to read the WHOLE thing. It took me back to that night I was at my friend's house back in the mid-90s, and once I got past the two volumes, and into new territory for me, I was mesmerized.
    Something with the book, with it's gorgeous art and story line that sweeps you away: you forget that it's in black and white! Your mind fills in the colors and it just envelopes you.
    I cannot agree with you enough about how amazing this comic was.

    After Bone don't forget to read 'Rose'! I only came across Bone about 5 years ago. I read it, gave it to my dad to read who also loved it and this past Christmas gave the first book to my friends teenager.

    Speaking as someone who recently finished the entire Bone Story, you’ve done a terrific job at singing this comic’s praises!
    Keep those reviews coming, C.T.!
    Speaking of which, have you heard of Fernando Dagnino?

    I remember back when I was in elementary (I'm in highschool right now) I was a very terrible and troubled kid. I was constantly in trouble, and I felt alone at home due to everyone always working. But one day my guidance counselor introduced me to Bone, and boy did I love the story. The story was so good, that she had bought me all 9 volumes as a reward for good behavior. I really enjoyed it, and I no longer felt that I was alone, because just reading the book made me forget all about my problems and trouble. Now I'm on the right track, is an honors Student, and I'm doing really well in school. I've just completed my second year in criminal justice, and is starting on my third year in the course. This story really turned my life around for the better.

    Man, what are the odds that this video'd pop up while I'm currently in the middle of rereading Bone? It really is something special, right up there with the Life & Times of Scrooge McDuck for me. I still have fond memories of reading bits here and there in Disney Adventures back when I was a kid. I'd *love* to see someone announce a traditionally animated Bone series, that would be entirely my jam in the best possible way.

    Ah Bone, a comic where you can have three cartoon characters, a super strong granny and a girl with dream powers fighting rat creatures who work for a Grim Reaper looking mofo who works for a horde of locust and nothing feels out of place or out of tone. Its a series that can have a character dress up in a cow costume to win a cow race at one part of the series and then have the villain shock an old, crippled warrior with his former, untouched face just to stun him so she can slice him in half and again, doesn't feel out of place. Stuff like Bone and Avatar really know how to mesh comedy, dark moments and fantasy together to where everything fits. Stuff like Marvel and DC seem to either be way too dark or way too lighthearted, they could learn a thing or two from Bone.
