I haven’t canned in 40 years and decided that I wanted to start back up. I decided I’d make blueberry jelly. I looked over all kinds of recipes and found I liked yours the best. I to like a smooth jelly instead of berries in it. So yours was the one I went with and made a double batch. It had a little left after the 12 jars so I tried it, I definitely made the right choice! Thanks

@@DisneyUpBoilerUp so for the late reply. Life has been busy!! I have not had any issues so far..... knock on wood. I do use a candy thermometer and make sure it gets up to the jelly temperature. If you do have any issues you can always just reprocess them and add another package of pectin.
No, not with this box of pectin. It is important to put in the amount it says on the box. But they do make a low sugar pectin, plus you can also find no sugar jam. Hope this helps.
I would say yes. With the immersion blender....from my understanding...you need some liquid to use it. Hope that helps. It turned out really good. Thanks so much for watching.
Up to one year if stored in a cool, dry place away from direct light. After that, the quality may degrade as sugar-resistant yeasts and bacteria ferment the sugars into alcohol and other flavors. However, the jam will still be safe to eat as long as it's unopened.

When it comes to canning, sometimes you miss the pinging sound that gives you auditory confirmation that your jars have sealed. Just because you didn’t hear it doesn’t mean that the jars didn’t seal. Here are some ways to test…. Press down on the center of the lid. Does it move up and down, or does it feel solid and concave? Solid and concave means a good seal. Movement means no seal. Tap on the lid. Does it sound tinny or hollow? Tinny means sealed, hollow means poor or no seal. Unscrew the band you used to hold the lid in place during processing. Now attempt to pick your jar up, holding onto nothing but the lid. If you have a good seal, you should be able to do this easily. You’ll know pretty much right away when you remove the band whether your seal is good.
Not sure...we used the box kind. But im sure there is a recipe with the liquid one as well. Thanks so much for watching. Let us know if you give it a try.

Yes, we used Sure Jell. It's easy peasy follow the directions on pectin box for BLUEBERRY JAM and you will do fine. As to how many jars you should be able to tell by how many we did.
I followed a recipe but they said add the pecktine last and then boil for 1 minute. The jam is runny. tastes good but it didn't set up. I see you added it first. Do you think this is what went wrong?
Well we have not had that problem so I assuming, yes. Hope this helps you out.

@ASimpleLifewithChrisTara Stiff and quite "intact". Busy, right now to start the gas to cook some. They do "perish" from cooking but I love them whole as can be, but sweet with some lemon juice and little cinamon.

Can we use frozen blueberry, and honey for the sugar?
Not with this recipe. You need to follow the recipe on the pectin box. But I'm sure if you google, you might find one with honey.
The general rule of thumb is as follows.
1 cup granulated sugar = 3/4 cup honey. I use honey in all of my jelly and this is the ratio I use.
@@chrisborder4746 I've always wanted to substitute honey, but I've been afraid the pectin won't set correctly. You've had no problems with the pectin sitting with the honey?

What if you don’t hear a pop, I did 1 batch for my test run. Not feeling confident
