Her not “killing” Anakin was her accepting their entire legacy and knowledge base fully. Anakin is fully self aware and accepting of himself both dark and light. Love it!
no her not killing him was her realizing that it was all a test to see if she would fight and not die and go back and live instead. She had a choice, Anakin was getting her to fight and realize she had to fight in order to go back.
Considering, amongst other signs, Anakin saying "I've heard that before" refering back to his fight with Luke, which Ashoka has no knowledge about what they said to each other, I think this is the real Anakin. Also, it's bovious that Anakin was trying to teach her that just because he become Vader, does not mean that she in turn has to turn evil or be afraid to. The "You've learned nothing" feels like Anakin saying that she is forgetting all the good that was in Anakin that he taught her, and instead forsakes it all just because she can't get over him becoming Vader. So Anakin has to fight her has Evil Anakin to force her to face it, and still decide to fight for life and good.
My thoughts exactly ... and it looks like he has complete control over his darkside... I wonder if he's taken the father role ... and truly keeps balance in the cosmic relem... this was crazy 🤪
@@claymccarthy6198 Considering we don’t see the Father, Mother, sister, or The son there. That would make sense, since they’re nowhere to be found, maybe they finally found peace in keeping him in charge of the place.
That line from Anakin didn't register until I rewatched the episode. I thought this was all in her head via the Force. Now I believe this was Anakin. He's definitely brought balance to the Force in the realm of the living and now seems to be in balance himself in the realm of the Force.
Everyone is forgetting that episode of clone wars where the mortis god’s father asked Anakin to replace him as the Father being in control of both the light and dark side of the force
Seeing young Ahsoka in the Clone Wars really makes it hit home just how young Ahsoka was. She really was a child thrust into a war she wasn't trained for. I also love that her attitude has changed after her experience. She has been drifting since she was expelled from the Jedi order and lost Anakin to the Dark Side. She has found her focus again.
Seeing Anakin with a red lightsaber is the closest we'll get to seeing how Vader could've turned out if he won the fight on Mustafar. He would've been absolutley terrifying if he'd won.
He'd be more of a dark prince and you'd be seeing fan girl edits of him on tik tok 💀 Instead of a robotic Goliath type of character archetype that the boys get hyped up to see on the big screen.
@@bemasaberwyn55Palpatine never wanted Vader to be as powerful as he could be. He wouldn't have been able to control him. He needed him to be a shadow of his Jedi self, he counted on him being put into that suit, a suit he already had waiting for him when he lost to Obi-Wan. It was like his leash.
True, but without the intimidation factor. It would have helped hunt jedi, but with the empire in control, the suit and mask, added height, the voice, were all great deterrents.
Ahsoka got her closure with Anakin. I love that you can see how more relaxed and happy Ahsoka is after meeting Anakin and confronting her past. The problem she had with being raised as soldier, feeling responsible for Anakin's fall... now she accepts that she doesn't have to be soldier to be a Jedi. She can decide what kind of jedi she wants to be. She can be everything that Anakin taught her without becoming just like Vader.
Young Ahsoka felt bad and led them into battle that cost many lifes. So the vibe I got was that she has the feeling on that moment that Sabine could have lost her live on Ahsoka's trip to find the map to find Ezra. Maybe at that point she also feels that Hera or her son could have lost their lives. I think Anakin ment more like stop caring to much and step up your game and put your warrior face on
I was watching another channel’s reaction (BlindWave) and one of the watchers said, “I love Hayden’s face and I love Matt Lanter’s voice coming out of it!”
I love how she is different after she wakes up. Happy, confident, the Ahsoka we know! Wonderful character development!!! It was also SO cool that they showed everyone's reaction to the purgil! Really demonstrated the aww of what was happening!
That Anakin wasn't just a construct of her imagination, he literally makes a reference to Return of the Jedi when Ahsoka says I wont fight you and he answers I've heard that before. that is a reference to Luke saying "i wont fight you father"
It's amazing realizing that Ahsoka was just a CHILD in the Clone Wars. I mean we knew that but seeing it in live action really hammers home just how little and young she actually was.
This episode was a feast. The visuals, the music, the callbacks, the humour and the acting made for one of my favourite episodes out of all the amazing new SW content
One thing seeing live action Clone Wars is how it drives home that Ahsoka was essentially a child soldier, something the animated version couldn't convey in quite the same way. She did reflect on it a bit near the end of the final season of TCW and I imagine it's something she'd never been able to let go of. Young Ahsoka was the same actress for both time-points, just made to look younger in the first and older in the second (given she's 16, so between the ages Ahsoka would have been). It's Ariana Greenblatt who was young Gamora in Infinity War as well as the daughter in Barbie, not to mention she's playing the part of Tiny Tina in the upcoming Borderlands movie. She's having a hell of an early career.
She is walking a similar path to Jenna Ortega, who is also a (ex) child actor (and also had a minor role in the MCU - she was in Iron man 3 in a non-speaking role). Jenna is a few years older and further on her path, but I bet Greenblatt has a lot of potential to run that sort of career as well.
A quick google search and it seems she only turned 16 last month, so she was likely early 15 or possibly late 14 at the time of filming. Pretty much right on the mark for early Ahsoka. She seemed a bit too young for Mandalore but it's totally understandable that they didn't get ANOTHER actress just to fill a small time gap. It was more important to show how young she was at the start than the end.
I always love it when a "May the Force be with you," is delivered to/from a Jedi or someone attuned to the Force. It's not something rote you say instead of "good luck". It carries more weight and seems...right, somehow.
I would freaking love it, but i'd imagine the budget would have to be immense for it to be really feasible. But like, they have the actors for it and everything
I called it last week that Ani was going to finish her training. This episode had me in tears for almost all of it lol, Filoni was cooking when he wrote this. Ahsoka being reborn was awesome.
Anakin has Mastered the Light and Dark side of the Force. He can switch between both of them with ease. Ashoka is not longer in the Grey but she has gone through a transformation like Gandalf and is now fully in the light.
Baylan was clearly doing his mind reading thing on Ahsoka last week, picking out her fear that she has the seeds of the dark side in her, just like Anakin. She was so afraid of becoming like him that she keeps everyone around her at arms length. But as Anakin said, there are only two choices, live or die, and keeping herself shut off from the people around her was it' own slow death. It can be hard when someone hurts you so profoundly, particularly someone in a parental role, to remember the good they taught you as well as the bad, which seems to be what Anakin was referring to when he said "you're more than that, because I'm more than that."
It makes me think of the quote from Kreia KOTOR 2: “Apathy is death”. Ahsoka distanced herself from so much because of her fear of becoming just like Vader, feeling like that’s all she’ll be in the end. That poor woman was traumatized since she was a child and could only see the horror of what happened around her. But she forgot the beautiful friendships she made, the people she’s saved over the years, the good she’s put back into the galaxy. Ahsoka learning to step away from the fear and remember the good in Anakin, in herself - it meant so much me. Ahsoka chose not just to keep going like she had been, but to actually live life and embrace the galaxy again.
4:15-4:24 Just so you know, this is a reference to ROTJ when Luke said almost the same thing during his final duel with Darth Vader. That's why Anakin said "I've heard that before" after Ahsoka tells him that she will not fight him. This has to be the best episode of this series so far, and I really did enjoy seeing you two react to it. Plus, I absolutely love that this episode gave us what a potential live-action TCW movie or TV series could be.
"One is never too old to learn, snips". To me, the lesson he was teaching her was the difference between surviving and living. It was the last lesson he learned, from Luke, when he was much older. From the moment he betrayed Ahsoka, she's been surviving, and her purpose, her conviction, gone. She's got no friends, family or companions around her, no attachment, just as a Jedi should be. But Ahsoka is no Jedi, and like Anakin said he's now passed on the final lesson he learned to her, even what he learned in his final moments. And then as he's smiling and remembering about his last lesson by Luke, she says, "I won't fight you" and he chuckles, because that's also what Luke said to him before that last fight. When his heart was full of rage and darkness that fight is what brought him back. So he turns on his lightsaber, and gets ready to pass that on to her. You live, truly live, or you die just like he did when he became Vader. At least that's my take on it.
I think Anakin was also showing her the role of the Jedi can change, in his time as a padawan he was keeper of the peace, in Ashoka's generation they were defenders of the republic/soldiers so she doesnt need to stay within th confines of that and expand her role of what the jedi's role is even though technically the jedi going to war goes against the idea of being peace keepers. The narrative of some Star Wars media shows that the council has become rigid and some jedi have become disillusioned with the way being peace keepers was being done as we seen in a few episodes of clone wars and tales of the jedi.
Great reaction! It is very interesting to see your full detailed reaction to the films Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope and others. This is a cool classic 👍🔥
15:48 Btw, did you know that according to “Bespin Bulletin” there was a fight scene shot between Anakin (as Hayden Christensen) and Ahsoka (as Savannah Steyn instead of Ariana Greenblatt, at least for that scene) on Mustafar in an alternate-reality-like setting during the "world-between-world like" moments, which they said was cut from the actual episode? In that scene Anakin would have showed her that she couldn't have changed his fate to become Vader even if she were there at that point, which would have taken away a lot of her guilt of her not having been there and not being able to save him, resulting in the now more light-hearted Ahsoka. They cut that scene, maybe cause it wasn't really a memory and/or cause Anakin's message/lesson was a different one? Though I still hope they would release it as a separate video on YT or sth like that, cause I would really like to see what that scene (and Savannah Steyn as Ahsoka) would have looked like and it also explains a bit better imo why Ahsoka is more enlightened and happy at the end of the episode.
Trent, love the comparison of Baylon to Maul! That is exactly how he's coming at Sabine. The Leia name drop is interesting. You would think that a recasting of Leia may been on the horizon as we move further into the New Republic timeframe.
Hi Trent and Julia I love your reaction to this episode this is my most favorite , this one your favorite too and to see Hayden Christian as Anakin Skywalker with the clone armor and seeing captain Rex and young Ahoska And anakin becoming a jedi and Darth Vader the same time !!!
I think that the lesson he was teaching her is that she can be balance just like he is they are more than just the violence that they brought and we will see a truly balanced Ashoka one who will use both sides of the force
Anakin asking "Do you even want a Padawan?" Is due to Ahsoka being hesitant and holding back when it comes to teaching Sabine. She also comes to realise that Anakin, although powerful, is not a perfect teacher, same goes for Obi-Wan. She understands in the end that it's not about being a good teacher, it's about having a good relationship with your Padawan, and having trust.
Loved this episode great reaction yeah that was really Anakin helping Ahsoka face her demons pass her jedi trials and become Ahsoka The White now she's at peace with herself hopefully this episode will make those people complaining about her personality shut up
Ani is right, though, being a leader you can't stop and think about how many people you will lose or how many you have lost when you're about to go to war or during a battle. That can come afterwards.
Ahsoka: "Ahsoka The Grey? Yes thats what they called me. I am Ahsoka the White, and I have come back at the turn of the tide.." Purrgil: "SADDLE UP PARTNER!!"
the siege of mandalore was really easy to identify, i mean from the moment we saw Ahsoka with her two BLUE lightsabers. thats it. thats the siege of mandalore. the only time in her life that she has ever used blue.
i think baylan trying to bring up mandalore was his attempt to make her turn on her. its something he must have learned with his powers but i dont think everything happened the way he implied it. for one you would think if ahsoka did something that resulted in sabine's family dying that sabine would be pissed off and leave her. but we were told by both Ahsoka and Sabine that Ahsoka was the one the left/quit. whatever happened with mandalore it didn't turn Sabine away from wanting to train under Ahsoka. i mean she was obviously not happy about what happened on mandalore (based on that i go where i'm needed/not always comment) but that didn't end their relationship. if anything, Sabine seemed upset in ep 2 that Ahsoka had left her. Her entire role in episode 2 is Sabine trying/wanting to get back together with Ahsoka.
Definitely nice seeing a post rotj anakin when he said i heard that before i thought he was hinting towatds luke in rotj I think we may get more anakin
I remember going to the movies in the summer of '77 to see a little film people were talking about called 'Star Wars'. I was 15 years old at the time. I'll be 62 this October, and these stories have been a part of my life for decades. I'm not ashamed to say I teared up several times during this episode. Thank God for Dave Filoni and his crew for being the fans that they are. What an incredible episode. Great reactions, guys!
Me, too! I just turned 66 and I was there in 1977. I’ve always loved science fiction and Star Wars was the icing on the cake. I retired last year and finally had the time to discover the treasure trove of Star Wars offerings on Disney+. I had no idea!
Trent and Julia You know what about Ahsoka and Anakin During the clone wars The Battle of geonosis they did their droid count It was funny and silly and a great bond !!! 65 skywalker my total 65 so what do i win
Anakin was made by the force he is the chosen one he is the father Anakin can do anything he wants and come back how he pleases and wears what he wants which is nice im team Anakin/Vader
George Lucas said the most powerful force user is Luke then Vader. Luke has more flesh than Vader thus he has more Midichlorians in his body make his connect stronger to the force...Ahsoka's power level is "up there" around their level according to George. Knowing this information I believe, Ahsoka's fear is that she is as or more powerful than Anakin because he trained her an is apart of his Legacy. She always been holding back not going all-in in fear of turning to the dark-side like Anakin did. It's why she hesitate with Sabine training in fear she'll pass it on. JMO
Not the world between worlds. The reason you know this is not some made up Anakin by the force for a trial is the first line of the fight. Asoka: I wont fight you....Anakin:I heard that before. Anakin remembers he heard that before but he did not hear this from Asoka ever so she couldent have known. Luke in return of Jedia says he wont fight Vader. Anakin is mentioning Luke when he says I heard that before. Meaning the force is not pulling from Asoka memories but the force is bending to Anakin's will. Anakin created this world not the force and this is the real Anakin
It was about balance have the dark and the light and choosing the light . I do think they are in the world between word and Anakin is a gatekeeper of the balance
Nope. This is full potential Anakin. The form he wasn’t able to achieve in his physical body. A perfect balance of Anakin and Vader. “I won’t fight you” and “I’ve heard that before” are so poetic because that’s what Luke said to him in RotJ.
"Intense" sugarcoating? *ding* There are several quotes that illustrate the things he is teaching her. "He was powerful, rarely lost a battle. What would've surprised people is how kind he was" "I've thought about her every day since we parted, but she's forgotten me completely " "but will we do so as keepers of the peace, or warriors? And is there a difference?" (Ahsoka to Barriss about the Jedi post war), "THIS IS RIDICULOUS, the droids aren't HALF as good as Rex's men " "that's the point. This is SUPPOSED to be difficult Ahsoka. It's my job to protect you. And the best way I can do that is to teach you how to protect yourself " "How well would you sleep, knowing that I let you down?" "Not very well I'd imagine "(Anakin and Obi-Wan talking about her) "Where were you when I needed you? "I made a choice" "You were SELFISH" "No" "You FAILED me, you ABANDONED me, do you know what I've become?" (Being confronted by a Force vision on Lothal) "you can't save your master, and I can't save mine" "The Jedi are supposed to be keepers of the peace, but all I've been since I was a Padawan was a Soldier" "I see the Padawan needs 1 final lesson " "Let's just say I DIDN'T use standard Jedi protocol " "I've seen what such attachments can do to a fully trained Jedi Knight, to the best of us" "Then I will avenge his death " "Revenge is not the Jedi way" "I am NO JEDI" "I won't leave you, not this time" "Then you will DIE" "Train yourself to let go.....of everything you fear to lose" "I KNOW there is still good in you, the emperor hasn't driven it from you fully" "you already have, Luke. You were right, you were right about me. Tell your sister, you were right" "Father, I won't leave you "
I didnt really process what a baby she was until i saw her in live action, and now I sort of feel like Palpatine was the punishment for the Jedi's sins of pushing little girls into fighting wars. This poor child is literally killing people when she should be learning her algebra.
@@sircosmo21 Plus her piloting skills are a good indicator of how she's acutely in tune with the Force than the average being, likewise with Poe Dameron.

Hayden is still a beast with a lightsaber! Also Reading Force Echoes is called Psychometry right? lol.
I liked how giddy you go during the fight scene
This is the best episode ever so far 🎉🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Loved this episode great reaction yeah that was really Anakin helping Ahsoka face her demons pass her jedi trials and become Ahsoka The White now she's at peace with herself hopefully this episode will make those people complaining about her personality shut up
hahahaha YEAH but No..( Haters going to Hate
And, is that Ashley Eckstein's saying "Master" at 8:20?
No
Anakin has become the balance of the force between light and dark
Ani is right, though, being a leader you can't stop and think about how many people you will lose or how many you have lost when you're about to go to war or during a battle. That can come afterwards.
"Ive heard that before..."
Ahsoka: "Ahsoka The Grey? Yes thats what they called me. I am Ahsoka the White, and I have come back at the turn of the tide.."
Purrgil: "SADDLE UP PARTNER!!"
Awesome reaction to an awesome episode!. ♥ Can´t wait for the next ones!. My best regards.
the siege of mandalore was really easy to identify, i mean from the moment we saw Ahsoka with her two BLUE lightsabers. thats it. thats the siege of mandalore. the only time in her life that she has ever used blue.
I was giggling like a total geek the whole time, I love Anakin🤭
i think baylan trying to bring up mandalore was his attempt to make her turn on her. its something he must have learned with his powers but i dont think everything happened the way he implied it. for one you would think if ahsoka did something that resulted in sabine's family dying that sabine would be pissed off and leave her. but we were told by both Ahsoka and Sabine that Ahsoka was the one the left/quit. whatever happened with mandalore it didn't turn Sabine away from wanting to train under Ahsoka. i mean she was obviously not happy about what happened on mandalore (based on that i go where i'm needed/not always comment) but that didn't end their relationship. if anything, Sabine seemed upset in ep 2 that Ahsoka had left her. Her entire role in episode 2 is Sabine trying/wanting to get back together with Ahsoka.
Definitely nice seeing a post rotj anakin when he said i heard that before i thought he was hinting towatds luke in rotj I think we may get more anakin
It was chapter 3 when you predicted they would be separated and use the Purrgil to travel to the other galaxy. I am still keeping it nerdy.
Long story short, this is really Anakin. He's been watching things since his joining within the force.
Live action Clone Wars semes like the only live action Disney remake people like.
I don't believe that this is the world between worlds. If you observe that there are no portals visible in any direction.
Trent and Julia You know what about Ahsoka and Anakin During the clone wars The Battle of geonosis they did their droid count It was funny and silly and a great bond !!!
65 skywalker my total 65 so what do i win
My everlasting respect Master Mundi
@@bemasaberwyn55 Oh that is a gift Anakin barely restore I assure you
Thanks, Julia! Thanks, Trent! 👤 #FandomZone #StarWars #DaveFiloni #Ahsoka
Note that Ahsoka's lightsaber is a shade redder.
JMO
Disney!! for the love of God! Give all Dave filoni control of starwars completely.
BEAUTIFUL 🥹
Not the world between worlds. The reason you know this is not some made up Anakin by the force for a trial is the first line of the fight. Asoka: I wont fight you....Anakin:I heard that before. Anakin remembers he heard that before but he did not hear this from Asoka ever so she couldent have known. Luke in return of Jedia says he wont fight Vader. Anakin is mentioning Luke when he says I heard that before. Meaning the force is not pulling from Asoka memories but the force is bending to Anakin's will. Anakin created this world not the force and this is the real Anakin
It's when he said snips
I agree you two
It was about balance have the dark and the light and choosing the light . I do think they are in the world between word and Anakin is a gatekeeper of the balance
Amazingg episode😢
Young Ahsoka series when?
Ahsoka The While.
How did Hera hear? Did Jacen share his power?
everyone has force potential the force is around everyone thats how
@@sircosmo21 yup like Ahsoka and all the other jedi keep saying the force resides within all living things
@@sircosmo21 Plus her piloting skills are a good indicator of how she's acutely in tune with the Force than the average being, likewise with Poe Dameron.
@@PeverellTheThirdplus there is the potential that Jacen projected what he was hearing to Hera, maybe subconsciously since he isn’t trained.
@@chazo1367 good point!
that was actually Anakin
Is Hera force sensitive?
No that's Anakin
Pinocchio?
Obi wan did fail him
You learned nothing back to the beginning
I can’t begin to describe how much I loved this episode! ❤🥹
