Sorry about the camera angle, was using a GoPro and do not have a front facing screen.

Every picture I see on google even from people selling used pairs they show “made in Italy” on the side

Exactly! My last pair did but this did not and I bought directly from Maui Jims website and they were a custom build to my specs.

@@Sky1 lol so I sent that message like a week and a half ago I ended up getting a pair of peahi’s and then a custom pair of local kines… the non-custom pair has the made in Italy logo and the custom do not … so same thing here

What is your opinion 2 years later about the local kines? I just bought them but I have read some bad reviews

They are very comfortable, occasionally my hair gets caught in them depending on how I take them off. The lenses I got are pretty dark so only use them in full sun. So far I still like them, I also like my Oakley's and even the $20 Torege's!!

Maui not including a real hard case just screams cheap to me. Sorry but fir $249 it should come with one and that’s all there is to it. There’s been some big changes the last couple years since Maui changed lens manufacturer. I also don’t like the Vuarnet copy bi gradient mirror. It’s identical to the Vuarnet “Lynx” mirror and it’s weird when you move your head and you get different levels of darkness. Either make it mirror or not. Maui Jim appears to be too big a company now and the bean counters are taking over.
    Cheers

in comparison to my old Maui's I would have to agree with you. But these Local Kine's are ok

Didn’t realize they changed lense manufactures … who’s making them

@@user-no9qb6lj7c well that’s always a big secret lol. I’ve “heard” on opticians sites that it’s Barberini. And actually since my original post, Maui has been bought by Kering eyewear so more changes may very well be in the way.
      Cheers
