- Hi guys! here are some tips and tricks on how to prevent your bunny from chewing your wooden furniture!

Note: Make sure you use shipping/packing tape. This can be found at any office supply store. Duct tape might be too harsh for your furniture that has been painted. Scotch tape and masking tape are big NO.

I tried this. My bunny boy did chew, so I quickly removed all the tape so he wouldn't ingest it. But I did find something that worked with him. I made a solution of water and alcohol. I then sprayed all my wood and it has deterred him.

Good idea. I found that as long as I was there when a new piece of wood furniture was introduced to my bunnies, I could train them not to bite it. I'd let them investigate it. They would put their teeth on it and look at me. A firm "NO', and they would let go, and never bother it again. I did use the clear package tape on the baseboards that were in their bedroom. After 1 year old they were much better behaved, until they got to be senior buns. Then they were naughty on occasion!

You don’t know how lucky you are. Oh, how wish. Mine are still younger, to be sure, but they’ve already destroyed several sections of carpet, several dresser legs, paper tacked on the walls, and countless other offenses.

I think you may have saved my baseboards...an my sanity. I have a Dutch bunny and a Netherland dwarf AND they love to chew on ALL of the white baseboards in my apartment. Thank you! I love Lennons bows by the way, absolutely adorable.

I tried to use the tape and they still chewed so I ended up buying these little table and chair socks and that stopped them from chewing there. And now the tables look cute with their little socks
Make sure it's the right kind of tape. Shipping/Packing tape works best. Duct tape might be too harsh for your furniture if it's been painted. Scotch tape and masking tape are big no. Sorry it didn't work out though and glad you figured out another hack :) Everybun is different :)

I am so happy I found this vid. I just moved from Barcelona to Brussels and my two bunnies were chewing on every plinth corner. I did not know what to do anymore when I let them out! Thank you!!! Just did it 1h ago and they do not show any interest in the plinths anymore
impressed! Thanks! I wish I knew this sooner! My bun stays in one room sometimes he will go into the living room (I usually have to bring him) we mostly have tile and wooden floors (Bunny does not look those type of floors) there are only two rooms with carpet and it's the only place my bun will want to go. But he has done a lot of damage in both these rooms.

The tape thing is a great idea! I've seen my bunny try to chew tape, so monitoring your rabbit after taping is important.
I think they get over their fascination quickly, but you still don't want them eating tape!

My bunny free roams in 3 rooms and it’s so rewarding I love having her waiting at the door for me when I get home
It's crazy you can trust your bunny home alone. Mine are about 3.5 months old and I can barely take my eyes off them for 10 minutes (if they aren't tired) before they are doing something naughty.

Sorry if you do, I just feel like people don't know rabbits aren't like dogs that can be left alone. They always need a second bunny, otherwise they're miserable. :)

I've been using this hack for years. Also works on carpet (where it meets the wall). I do need to re-tape now and then and I use white duct tape on white base boards, etc.
My rabbits used to chew all baseboards and wood furniture, then stopped doing it as much. All of a sudden, they were doing it again, and I realized that the orange log toy made from compressed alfalfa and honey had finally chewed out of existence. I keep it in their ex-pen, and now realize they would return there to chew it from wherever they were in the apartment, rather than eat the furniture. Once I replaced it, the furniture chewing ended again. The log does leave orange dust everywhere, though, so I don't let it leave the ex-pen. I might try this tape thing, though. Another thing I heard works is rubbing a bar of soap over the furniture and baseboards. They said to use Ivory soap, for some reason

Do a Google slides presentation, show your research, constantly drop bunny facts, associate everything with bunnies, show how knowledgeable you will be; show your responsibility by doing chores or maybe even babysit a rabbit or your siblings, etc.

Thanks for the tip! Our bunny just this week started chewing our crown molding and other furniture. It's making my wife very stressed that we have to confine him to a cage for hours at a time. I'll try the tape as soon as I'm home!

I just started using water+vinegar to spray my baseboards I really hope this works. My bunny is a house rabbit so he has the whole house to roam 24/7 but he still manages to get bored! I give him plenty of cardboard to chew on and hay. I even make those toilet paper roll toys with treats inside to make it more interesting. He's just all of a sudden bored out of his mind now and chewing the walls.

I'm bunnysitting my best friend's two month old right now. I'm not sure if it's because he's in a new environment, or what, but he loves to chew on our baseboards. It's not something I'm used to, because my bunny has never tried chewing on them. My mother definitely isn't a fan of it 😅 We're only watching him for two more days, but I'm definitely trying this in the morning!

I have 4 house rabbits and they have their own room although the door is always open but 3 of them always stay in the room. At night they always chew the skirting boards even though they have toys and a lot of hay to chew. I don’t know how to stop them chewing and ruining the paint and gloss on the walls
My mom got the family a bunny out of impulse, but I'm the only one who takes care of her. I keep her free roam in my room because they won't let her anywhere else. However, we live in a (new 2017 built) trailer and my bunny, Cookie, has almost completely bitten all of the wall trimming (its like a cardboard strip with wallpaper). My parents aren't really sympathetic towards her, and they threaten to put her in the cage, return her, or built a hutch for her outside and leave her there. :( All of my furniture is wood. I'm a 19 year old full time college student so getting my own place is out of the question. :( What can I do?
I used the packing tape trick before using this video for my guniea pig, she used to chew some of her melamine furniture. Definitely deterred her from chewing it, although it didn’t stop her but it decreased it by a ton!

Has anyone found matte tape like this? I've used the glossy kind on my baseboards and it works great for deterring my bun, but I would prefer the matte finish for looks.

My Bunny, Señior Fudge Face, LOVES to lick the legs of my purple chair, oddly enough. He sometimes will sleep by it and lick it even more when he wakes up!! He also is the destroyer of evil boxes and those villanous bags.

I just got my bun a couple days ago she's 2 months old. I am in the process of litter training her but I keep her in a big cage (with no bottom) and lay fleece down. she has been using the litter box very well and only has an accident here and there. I'd like to let her be a free roaming rabbit but I'm wondering how will she know to always go to the litter box when she needs to potty rather than just going wherever she's standing at the time?

I leave at 8 in the morning and come back at 6 in the evening my mom many times stays till 10 or 11 at home and comes for lunch around 1 or 2 for an hr or 45 minutes I'm trying my level best to spend more time with my bunny

My bunny does have a litter box in which he does his business in, however when he's hanging out uber my kitchen table he tends to do potty there all the time! The litter box is in his CRATE in the same area. I tried with out creating him at night, but he chewed the bottom of sink doors, and the pantry saddle. I will try the clear packing tape. Back to him doing potty on the floor....how can I stop This? Thanks for all of your tips;)
I looked at this for my cousin who has two pet rabbits so how do you stop your cat from clawing your furniture and clawing your wallpaper? I trim her claws. my other cats used their scratching post ,but she does not.
I've used tape on sideboards, but I don't want to tape my nice dining room chairs. I rubbed soap on chair legs, but he STILL CHEWS and is total punk about it! Rubbing alcohol will dry out the finish ,yes?

What breed of rabbit is Lennon? I have a New Zealand and Californian cross rabbit named Genesis and she was a little aggressive at first based off the environment she came from, but watching your vids, she's become the most sweetest rabbit I've ever met

This is so cool too with the tape, I have metal for my bed stand and bed but the rest is wood.
Now I'm wondering though how you get that bow on her though, I tried putting a hat on Lily both with and without clipping it on and she hated it.
I have a metal bed too! Lennon doesn't mind the bows as they are very light weight and don't make her feel "trapped" the way clothing might.

What to do if your rabbit doesn’t like sticks, hay (I’ve tried all the hays and she just won’t eat hay, she’ll eat her pellets but not hay) she won’t chew on any rabbit toys that I’ve bought for her. I’ve made toys from cardboard and stuffed it with treats, hay, paper and looks at it and rubs off. I’ve put a log in there for her. I’ve tried having her just be in a certain space and she gets mad about that. She just wants pellets, salad, free roam and all my wood furniture and base boards. I’m at a loss. Any tips will be very appreciated. Thank you.

Would water and vinegar work. My rabbits chew there cage at night time. They have lots of toys. Plenty of hay. But they just want to chew it. I keep the doors to their cage open all day. And when I go to bed I have them in their cage. The damage is so bad that I think they are trying to make an escape. I can't use tape they have already chewed it so I took it off. I need your help.
So regular clear packing tape? Won't this take off paint from walls & the finish and color on furniture? I have wooden end tables, but I've seen tape take off the finish and color.Unless it's untreated..but most people'swooden furniture isn't.
