Have a 2013 Suzuki Swift Sport. 10 on 10 - price, quality, ride, handling and appeal. Interior is fine and well laid out, and the back seats are for adults (not sure about this reviewer). As for power, Suzuki went for better handling and chassis control and a close 6 speed gear box for driving fun, versus some overpriced competitors who continue to go with over sized engines that can not be used in most normal driving conditions and are usually over powered for that car.
W Sheck I agree. The value for money is exceptional and I don't think you can find a better driving experience for the money. They also have bullet proof reliability and it's quick enough if you're happy to travel about at legal speeds. I don't think this record l reviewer actually likes driving which would explain why he didn't notice how much fun these are to drive.
Don't agree about the engines. There's some great 1.4 turbo and 1.6 turbo offerings. Just look at the 208 Gti, Fiesta ST and the Abarth 500. This Swift is just too underpowered really
From what I can gather he completely missed the point, maybe he should have left Liverpool for the day and jazzed it around the country roads of Yorkshire.
i have a 2013 swift sport it is a really great car to drive and lots of fun, it does exactly what it says it can, and with all the equipment you get as standard its well worth the money, well done suzuki
After owning an SSS for a couple of months now i can confidently say that its a jewel of a car. It is fast only if you rev the bolts off thou. And i would love a few more bhp on it. The chassis can surely handle it. Good town car and can be very modest and relaxing when you want it to. Mpg's are not that great, small tank. On a full tank with mixed driving, that is relaxed and "slightly less relaxed" driving i get 540 ish km out of it. Not bad at all but could be lower IF they added a turbo to it ( better for OBD tuning also) All in all you get what you pay for and more. Sure the interiour isn't the best out there and you might question build quality, specially on the doors BUT it is put together good. AND its functional. I love my little baby gti ;) But to say first time buyers? Nah. would say it is incorrect to asume that.
CJ Rain Far from it to be honest, there is a reason why Rent4Ring is renting them out on the Nürburgring, and that there is a cult following, and that there are many motorsport championships involving these stock motors ;)
I love these cars but is a bit skeptical on the mpg. I have a 1998 Honda Torneo SIR-T that is excellent on gave vs my 2003 Suzuki Grand Vitara whose manual warned me about hard acceleration. Whenever I do that it's observed on the gas needle. With the Torneo, peeling off from stop lights is so much fun, especially with the VTEC 😃 😊, and not so much worry on gas. With wanting to change now, I'm stuck with the consideration of a hybrid fit (for various reasons) and the sporty Swift which I love ❤ but have never driven. Looking for some convincing. I has driven a Jimny for a while. Very preppy and fun to drive. Compression was high which accounted for the feel. Will demand a lot of fuel though. The white and yellow Swifts are a beauty 💛.
I have the 2012 5 door Suzuki Swift Sport Auto 7 speed with paddle shift 5 seater with a 40/60 split seat the boot has a tray that you can lift up and place thing under it and makes it easy to put thing in and out as You don't have to lift as high as on Your model These cars rule windy roads and are so much fun to drive ....Its a lot of kit for a small price 9/10 from Me :-)
I have an older 2006 style 3dr swift with the xtras such as 16"alloys side mouldings spoiler and stripes!! And I have to say it has been a model of reliability with only a wheel bearing abs ring and normal wear and replacement of front wishbone rubbers which are the only 3 things that have been replaced. Beautiful car to drive. Really nice precise smooth steering and real nice snappy precise gearshift. In my opinion underneath the car and bonnet put together well. Plastic interior not gr8.
Another superficial review. Why do journos never compare the engineering integrity of cars? The build quality in a Suzuki is in the mechanicals and electrics. This is where your money is spent, and is why these cars can handle tens of thousands of track miles.
I AcK I He's probably one of those dickheads who mistakes being able to stand on the accelerator whenever the road is straight with actual driving skill.
I have to agree. There are videos of people showing it getting 0-60 in under 8 seconds which is way faster than the performance on paper. To say it doesn't meet the performance on paper makes no sense. Perhaps he doesn't realise it'll rev to 7200 rpm...
I'd like to know what advantage consumption is between the first and facelift? Or any other differences. Is it any good to buy the 2007 1.6 sport or preferable the facelift ones? Thanks
I wonder how much it takes to give it around plus 50 bhp and convert it to rwd with a proper carbon fiber axle, to loose less power. God, it must be quite priced with such mods :-S
i go sell my alfa mito 155 same engine as abarth 500 and punto for the swift !, mpg is terrible on it and stock the swift is even faster to 100 7.5 vs 7.8 mito if u have good starts.100 + the mito is faster buth idk about that i wanne trash a car and the turbo cars drink like 3.0 L engine if u trash it. i had a twingo gt 1.2 turbo bevore the mito i had 10Km L in the twingo lol fuck turbo's
I cannot help but love these little cars

Best sport hatch👌👌suzuki swift😍😍
I'm a big believer in "You get what you pay for" and for what you pay for that car, it's a good package!

monstermoose89 You wouldn't be the only one who thinks this review sucks.
You should give up anchoring.
The introduction is full of a sensible speech that only few people could understand.

Well I've been in one doing 130 and it has beat many cars with a sub 9 seconds 0-60 so this guy must drive like a granny.

@@dorkangel1076 I've seen 0 to 62 mph (100 kph) in 7.2 seconds. Average run was 7.5 seconds.
@@tonyrenshaw8328 Wow.Did they take the other seats out? ;)
