I'm going to cut a large flat area at roof level in my hillside, pour it and then excavate under it, pour the walls, reversed of this and square, yours came out very nice.
That's an awesome shelter you built there, I love the multilevel design. I have a few questions, how do you handle air supply, waste management (sewage included), power generation, long term sustainability issues? Or is it just used for short term sheltering in place?
@DEN1ERU I believe the general idea would be pack it full of supplies, lock himself and any other people he wishes in there, and wait for the initial unruliness, and first 'die off' to occur, while keeping himself safe. Nice bunker man.
@chupacabras0905 well let me help you out a little. radiation travels with the particles in the wind(mostly dust) and if you have a very good air and water filtration system then that wont be a problem as long as you don't go outside unprotected.
Are you still building these and can you put two unites joined by a door and four escape area's that are handicap accessible? How much do you charge for each unit with 24" roof?
@ReLiXReaper Actually they had a completely different calendar the relied on cycles. Even with leap years the math for both calenders would work out for the world to end on 2012. The only thing they'd disagree on is what to call it.
a nice bit of information for you., being serious too :) generator/generators? a built in fuel tank... possibly 50 or 60G tank to last a while if ever anything happened. high and low method communications an indoor greenhouse with the high volt bulbs to grow food and other fruit and veg.A good water supply sewerage systems something huge underground sanctum build rooms extending from it.ect i have really good plans of my own its very possible on a cheap budget too i reckon :)
yes luvely 1 would you want to survive?. 2 how will you react with other survivors? 3 you need to see an old program called the shelter on utube twighlight zone
I would stack cmu block 10 inch thick no mortar joint ,re bar every joint, fill with concrete waterproof and foam, why? one could stack cmu in a few days with no forms. Don't get me wrong you've done a first class job there!!
2012 as in the Mayan calendar stuff is 99% surely a croc of crap. However, the growing instability in the world (as well as right here in the USA) is certainly a concern and having a place like this to "bug out" to if/when whatever poo hits the fan is just prudent thinking. Hell, this could even be a great tornado shelter for those in tornado ally.
If you're making a bunker shouldn't you make the ceiling a dome so that the weight of the structure is distributed down through the walls, preventing collapse.
@mrcaptaingnar even if its not real its pretty cool to have in case of nuclear wars, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, zombies lol, and any other kind of disaster..
WOW nice job but to build that here in Australia you would have to have at least 150 k to build it 45- 50 k just in concrete easy. Steel would be a fortune to so way out of most ppl,s hopes lol
@NelsonH007 Maybe they can bring Plants down there. They release Oxygen and could be used as a food source. And you don't need real sunlight to grow them, you could just use a certain type of Light bulb I heard about that acts like sunlight.
what if u were in one of dem and sumthing happened nd da door got jammed in nd ya ended up dying inside it from no food or water ? u shud have a emergency door in it too !
whoa... echo. the door shouldnt be down at the base, it should come in through the roof or the top of the wall where the hydrostatic water pressure from the surrounding ground is not so great.
Nothing wrong with having a shelter such as this for any kind of bad weather or natural storm protection. I bet a lot of people during Katrina wished they could have retreated to something like this or anyone who had to go through a tornado. The only thing I would want on something like this is some form of pumped water and electricity, didn't see where it was coming in from.
@shoutatthesky Same ole same ole. Day to Day Stuff. Earthquakes. Tornados, Hurricanes, Flooding, Tsunami's, War, Revolutions, Economic crisis, Political unrest, Global warming, just to name a few.
I wonder if he is still in there since there's no more videos :D
Haha bet he is ;P
Been in construction mainly a carpenter since '94.. This is a well if not overly built Little office..You covered everything literally.
Never mind..may be next time around.
The name of the song is Don't Worry Be Happy,
and it just makes your day so much nicer.
i think were all gonna go build one of these thanks for the building plans
That's a beautiful thing...Great job!
I love the idea. I think underground houses are going to be the future. Preserve the surface and inhabit the underground makes more sense to me.
THAT is SWEET how much did it cost and how long did it take to build ?
im thinking of doing the shipping container thing my self
I'm going to cut a large flat area at roof level in my hillside, pour it and then excavate under it, pour the walls, reversed of this and square, yours came out very nice.
Do you use fiber reinforced concrete pour with all that rebar?? Would be insanely strong monolithic pour.
That's great, what are you supposed to do if you're not from a construction background or have access to substantial funds to build one of these?
That's an awesome shelter you built there, I love the multilevel design. I have a few questions, how do you handle air supply, waste management (sewage included), power generation, long term sustainability issues? Or is it just used for short term sheltering in place?
your project is awesome!
I aint buying into the 2012 thing, but this would be one really nice studio apartment/home. Super easy to heat and cool. Me likes it.
I'll build one next year!
@DEN1ERU I believe the general idea would be pack it full of supplies, lock himself and any other people he wishes in there, and wait for the initial unruliness, and first 'die off' to occur, while keeping himself safe.
Nice bunker man.
So have you tested for Radon Gas yet? If you have Radon within the structure you'll need a midigation system.
What is the difference between being in a small pine box and a slightly larger concrete box?
Still here...2013 is around the corner. Cheers to you in a liftetime of debt
Nice make another one for next apocalypse
@chupacabras0905 well let me help you out a little. radiation travels with the particles in the wind(mostly dust) and if you have a very good air and water filtration system then that wont be a problem as long as you don't go outside unprotected.

Prepare for the worst, hope for the best. If something happens, great, if nothing happens even better. No loss.
well when 2013 rolls around, at least youll have one kick ass underground party layer
there is something awesome about this
@ReLiXReaper Actually they had a completely different calendar the relied on cycles. Even with leap years the math for both calenders would work out for the world to end on 2012. The only thing they'd disagree on is what to call it.
From what I read, they start at 60k. Not including the cost of excavation, drain fields, etc...
Those are gonna survive who are prepared like this man.
@AKittyKatProduction
Also plants remove some pollutants from the air too.
It's Christmas Eve, and I'm still here.
works good as a tornado safe house aswell
a nice bit of information for you., being serious too :) generator/generators? a built in fuel tank... possibly 50 or 60G tank to last a while if ever anything happened. high and low method communications an indoor greenhouse with the high volt bulbs to grow food and other fruit and veg.A good water supply sewerage systems something huge underground sanctum build rooms extending from it.ect i have really good plans of my own its very possible on a cheap budget too i reckon :)
@Paiqemyers that´s the same way i thing the same way what if the ground is breaking
yes luvely
1 would you want to survive?.
2 how will you react with other survivors?
3 you need to see an old program
called the shelter on utube twighlight zone
how much did that cost?
@mike081283 A few meters of concrete, and air filters to stop particles, as well as gas reserves to use when the air is particularly radioactive?
Would you mind giving a rough estimate at what this cost? If it is already posted I apologize, I did look however.
@5485Ron that shape is because ogival objects better resists against pressure.. best shape is ball..
did you grow a plant in there ?
Will it withstand a valcano...
Insulating concrete forms are the future. Would have saved a lot of time and effort and created a better structure.
Man I dig this, I did read below something about pooping. Where is that done? Again, wish I had the money for this.
Looks cool none the less. Would be great for tornadoes, zombie outbreaks, sasquatch invasions and shit like that.
I would stack cmu block 10 inch thick no mortar joint ,re bar every joint, fill with concrete waterproof and foam, why? one could stack cmu in a few days with no forms.
Don't get me wrong you've done a first class job there!!
is there a secondary door
onr question.Where is the bathroom?
where is the bathroom?
Hope it has adequate ventilation. Wouldn't want to die during a disaster due to suffocation!
What was the total cost/investment in this structure?
after you get into it on 21 december how long are you gonna wait in there if nothing happens?
how do you get out when the astoroid lands on your roof.?
How are you gpnna get out when it's underwater?
and how is the air circulation supposed to work if everything is underwater?
where are your vent systems
What is the total price tag on this?
Excellent sub terranean building. You can weather nearly any disaster in this. I'd rather stay in one of these than a sardine can in the dirt.
And the oxygen will come from where? If i may know?
Nice, can I live there?
2012 as in the Mayan calendar stuff is 99% surely a croc of crap. is it flood proof ?
If you're making a bunker shouldn't you make the ceiling a dome so that the weight of the structure is distributed down through the walls, preventing collapse.
Leap years are needed to keep days right in the Gregorian calendar (what we use). The Mayans didnt use or need leap years.
Sooooo that's pretty kool.. But where is your air, water, food and electricity supply?
it is good to have one of this
nice i like that think about future.. keep it up
Wow !!!! How the hell much does that thing cost ??????
@mrcaptaingnar even if its not real its pretty cool to have in case of nuclear wars, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, zombies lol, and any other kind of disaster..
How do you expect it to hold up to a severe earthquake?
WOW nice job but to build that here in Australia you would have to have at least 150 k to build it 45- 50 k just in concrete easy. Steel would be a fortune to so way out of most ppl,s hopes lol
.yes the end is near but we will never know when thats why u gotta be ready to go......
Its pretty sweet, my self am just going to use my Y2K shelter just need to restock my food,
say there is something that happens like 2012 or something what would you do if the door has say a house on it or something?
@NelsonH007 Maybe they can bring Plants down there. They release Oxygen and could be used as a food source. And you don't need real sunlight to grow them, you could just use a certain type of Light bulb I heard about that acts like sunlight.
Ok I'll build one right now
THATS SICK!
That was brilliant
what if u were in one of dem and sumthing happened nd da door got jammed in nd ya ended up dying inside it from no food or water ? u shud have a emergency door in it too !
what do you do when theres a flood?
nice tomb
what is the cost?
I'm getting myself ready for the "Laugh your ass off at the 2012 believers" party! :)
make a pool on that or underground mushroom plantation it will help..
YOU ACTUALY BOUGHT 2012!!!! I'M GOING TO WATCH 2012 ON
DECEMBER 23, 2012
whoa... echo.
the door shouldnt be down at the base, it should come in through the roof or the top of the wall where the hydrostatic water pressure from the surrounding ground is not so great.
Man I dig this.
but will it float...
What if it floods?
A+ on design.

@shoutatthesky
Its a god choice..whether 2012 end or not
nice song
I'm thinking oxygen, bathroom, lighting, if there's nuclear fallout how long do you stay down there and when you can come out..... what then?
@shoutatthesky Same ole same ole. Day to Day Stuff.
Earthquakes. Tornados, Hurricanes, Flooding, Tsunami's, War, Revolutions, Economic crisis, Political unrest, Global warming,
just to name a few.
how much to reserve a spot fella can we blaze up as well and anyway even if 2012 dosent happen atleased u can get a proper grow on. SAFE
great video
What was your total investment? Did you do most of the work?
amazing work..if nothing happens, you lerned alot!...jjjjejje excelent.
So if it doesn't happen you'll have an awesome hang out.
@gavinb3010 no, i mean "if nothing happens". Look it says right there
@mrsjabob How will a tsunami reach 700 miles inland? In the Rocky's .
