@@mangored209 An EMP would still knock out the tractor. Any vehicle can survive an EMP while it is turned on, but the second you turn it off it will never turn on again.
@@tfs333actuallyonbbc2 A Dieselengine can be started without any electricity involved if you doing it right. heat up at least one of the cylinder to a certain point. then push the vehicle with disengaged clutch as fast as you save can. engaged clutch. found out that compression ignition works.
@@tfs333actuallyonbbc2 we had batteries busted in our Ursus C355. It was being started with homemade oil torch. I would say this is the same case.
@@tfs333actuallyonbbc2 If the Diesel has an electric fuel pump, the EMP toasts the pump and therefore the motor, which makes the Battlefield Campaign in the Straight of Hormuz unbelievable... Though any electrical system that is wholly inside a faraday cage might be safe. Since an EMP is inducing a current in targeted electrical systems mostly low voltage/current systems are destroyed by an EMP, like the computer that runs your modern motors (ECU).

I'm really happy to go back to eastern europe in vanilla arma. Also finally more civvie clothes with long pants and regular shoes instead of shorts and flip flops!

I... actually like how this sounds rather honest. Instead of claiming to have a plethoria of new weapons, it does state which weapons are trully new and which are mere reskins of and from which DLC are they. It does mention the tractor as being brought back from Arma II, and how some of the more script-heavy gadgets of the campaign may work as mere cosmetics on multiplayer. It does bring a lot of new stuff, but also making sure everyone has a clear picture of what you are actually buying here.

IIRC ARMA 3 is more CPU dependant than GPU dependant...and even then it’s a real arse to get it to run well.
@@Ebalosus I have the i9 9900K, if you know what cpu that is then you know its the flagship from Intel, runnit it along with 32gb 3000mhz DDR4 and a 1080TI and still the game runs like dogshit, i gave up on this game years ago, not because its so shitty optimized but its so cluncky and misses ALOT of simple animations, i wouldnt consider Arma 3 a game rather just a Editor.

That's because they are using poor dlc for a broken engine to keep the money coming in while they are creating their new engine. People keep giving away their money for very little so they keep doing it. Rinse and repeat.
The Standalone gravy train is over. This move is just "Look! We aren't dead yet!!" desperation. Bohemia Interactive, and SUMA before it, have a long, long tradition of biting off more than they can chew, waiting years and years between titles, and relying on luck that has nothing to do with their development plans to stay solvent (See: The stupidity of Codemasters, Virtual Battlespace dropping into their laps, totally unexpected popularity of Dayz Mod, etc.). If A4 flops, they'll be bankrupt within 2 years.

@@MHBorghi They haven't put out an announcement, but I would bet their new Enfusion engine they took YEARS to develop on the back of all those DayZ standalone alpha adopters was done specifically for Arma4. I'm guessing the delay for A4 release is porting all the existing dlc over.
Just an FYI guys I wanna say I’m LOVING ArmA Reforged so far!!! The 80’s Cold War aesthetics is so amazing. And it’s probably your guys’s most optimized and smoothest ArmA yet and this is JUST a demo… I can’t wait to see more!

@@ronduptor Yes! I was so surprised when I found out I could drive that thing and after 20 minutes of 5 km/h heart pounding escaping attempt I was blasted away. As the camera zoomed out, turned away and zoomed in to a distant BMP some 1000m away.

@:::::: There is nothing in an old tractor that would be affected by an EMP, not even modern LED lights would be affected by an EMP. In fact, weapon sights that light up such as holographic ones wouldn't even be affected. This is ArmA, not COD. If you want Hollywood make believe then go play something else.
@@MrPablosek EMP is a good idea. It's kinda fishy that Bohemia still hasn't addressed the new Spetsnaz faction as much as anything else. Maybe the Aliens aren't even the threat and the Russians launch the EMP against them? I feel like a lot of this is going to deal with the the negative effects on humanity the aliens may unknowningly bring. Rioting, looting, armed militias, military invasions of other countries (Russia into Livonia?).
@:::::: EMPs don't work on all electronics, the more complex a system the more effective an EMP will be, but tractors aren't complex enough to be harmed by an EMP.

ArmA: So we've got this new expansion...
With how the engine is they cant really fully fix it, so i dont think it would be worth their time. That being said the new engine they are working on that they use in dayz is looking extremely promising, perhaps arma4 will run better?

Remember the tractors. They can be especially useful in particularly stressing situations. For example, when you only have 15 minutes to get to your friends who are pulling out of Malden, away from the Soviet menace.
Ah yes, the good ol' tractor. I remember those escapes. Soldiers chasing after you and you drive into the woods, because the ai has difficulty going through the woods, and it deters bmps, tanks and helicopters. Oh, and you turn off the light because maybe, those sovietski soldiers can't see in the dark :))
I remenber playing with my dad, and my brother in a coop mission. We were supposed to assault a village and steal a helicopter. We started the attack, and then we were engaged by the SpetzNatz, who were parachuted in as backup :))

The Helmet Lavonian soldiers use is based of the US Army's newest combat helmet the IHPS or Integrated Head Protection System and can be fitted with ballistic mandible protector and also a flip down visor

I gotta say, those subtitles are breathtaking.
The "artifact" and gravity field at the end reminds me of Roadside Picnic or STALKER.
That's likely the inspiration. Makes sense, since in Roadside Picnic it's aliens causing it.

@@SuperGman117 Would have been interesting to see Arma Livonia take place in the region of Livonia. Livonia itself is an almost extinct language and ethnic group with no country, so they would have fit very well in Arma as a fictional baltic state regardless. Kind of a wasted opportunity, since Arma Livonia is so close, yet not at the right place.
