I currently live in La Paz and it is definitely a fascinating and unique city. I think it's important to point out how different it can be based on your neighborhood and elevation. The Zona Sur is wayyyyy more developed, with Western-style shops and boulevards and high-rises. Where I live, Alto Obrajes, feels like a small town, with a warm, cozy, neighborhood vibe and cobblestoned streets. Sopocachi, where a lot of the embassies are, is full of malls, restaurants, and nightclubs. Then you go to the Centro (where you guys were for most of the videos), and it IS extremely hectic, loud, cars everywhere, ugly buildings, but also a lot of local culture around the Mercado de las Brujas. So it's a patchwork, you can experience the poorest of the poor and the richest of the rich here. What I love the most, besides the fact that nature is close at hand and visible everywhere, is that (for the most part), the people are extremely warm and friendly. It also really pays to speak Spanish here, as you mentioned, this is not really a very tourist-friendly place haha.
Wow the Difference from street to street The colour’s again on the buildings , the markets is pretty 😍 But still gives a strange vibe 🤔 the views from the cable car were amazing sure showed how crowed it is , the snow on the mountains 😊. Sure was Serendipitous but what an amazing experience ,something you will remember as you look back on it . Thank you for sharing the raw side of it all very interesting. Did you make it to the El Alto open air market? It is the the largest open market we have ever seen and is open on Thursdays and Sundays (if memory serves me correct). The shut down several major streets and it is quite a sight to behold.

Hey there just a bit of information. The llama fetuses are actually natural losses actually only one out of three llama pregnancies is succesfull so here in Bolivia we believe that we have to give those who didn't survive back to mother earth (pachamama) thets why there are so many fetuses in the ritual stores they die naturally.
Trying to walk uphill there feels like auditioning for an involuntary cardio workout - who needs a gym membership when you have gravity giving you a workout side-eye? Kidding aside, you two indeed has lived a good and happy lives and that's what important.

We're not sadly, Colombia is the number one place we were gutted to not get to. BUT we also need to see Brazil and a few others so will just have to go back
@@DaneAndStacey Ah words cant describe how amazing it is (did my 5th trip to Colombia in August, I guess having a Colombian partner makes it easy to keep on going back). Brazil is amazing as well, nothing will beat a sunset up Sugarloaf mountain in Copacabana beach!

You’re of course welcome to your opinions guys, but we think you’re misinterpreting what this is about a bit. This is a local experience, not for tourists, we’re travellers - we pride ourselves on embracing what locals do and experiencing how they live. El Alto isn’t some tourist hot spot and these ‘magicians’ are where the locals go, so we just thought it would be fascinating to experience it ourselves and share that with you. Our only superstition is Stace doesn’t cut her nails at night 😂 Hope that makes sense anyway and if this is goodbye, thanks for following along for so long ❤️

The lack of trees is sadly one true bad thing about La Paz, those were not a priority (as it is the city is crammed)

We moved to Peru 1yr ago and I don't know if it was our best idea. The lack of coffee saddens me on its own, then the mess.
Ahh yeah the coffee wasn't great in SA, I guess you should buy a machine and make it at home.
