Welcome to Death Road Bolivia! The name was given to the official most dangerous road in the world, Yungas Road, about an 1.5-hour drive from La Paz. It was officially named the world’s most dangerous road in 1995, with an estimated 200 to 300 people killed on this road every year due to fog, landslides and cliffs that drop up to 1km.
Death Road basically never gets wider than 3metres and sadly there's crosses and memorials to those who have perished there over the years. That's perhaps the craziest thing, there's this deadly road and one of the best things to do in Bolivia is to cycle down it?
Truth is, these Death Road bike tours are really safe because the road is a lot safer now than it ever was. With the new paved path through the mountains, the old Yungas Road isn't really used all the much except for these kind of cycling tours.
Either way, one of the crazier things we've ever done and a highlight of our time in Bolivia and La Paz! We hope you enjoy this random little travel vlog of our adventures.

It's the only road where the journey comes with a built-in disclaimer, and the views are so breathtaking, you might forget to breathe. I mean, I might not be gasping because I'm tired but because I'm fascinated with its scenery!

But people who have to get to LA Paz, they don't go there on their bikes, they have to go there on their vehicles and it's extremely dangerous. May God be there for them all every step of the way. Lots of people lost their lives on that road. God bless them all who have to get there on their trucks & busses. 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏

It's basically a full day trip!

I was going to ask if you were one handing it because of the camera but you answered that. Head or chest mount go pro might have been the way to go. Well for those of us less coordinated. 😂🎉

In places it's probably safer on a bike to be honest! I actually did have a chest mount, but just a couple wobbly moments is all while trying to one hand direct the point of view to show a bit more
