It feels so good to finally be in South America! We're in Peru to kick start this month long adventure and spending the day in Cusco spreading some unbelievably positive vibes. We're here for the GX Community Summit held by G Adventures and Planeterra, as part of that we're checking out a handful of amazing community projects that have had an overwhelmingly positive impact on locals. If you've followed us for a while you know we always talk about going to local spots, seeing local life and experiencing a destination through a locals eyes (where possible, obviously) - so this was the most rewarding day for us and we're blessed to share it with you.
Side note, Cusco is an epic place to travel! There are so many great things to do, obviously hiking is a major that we'll share soon, but the city itself is charming, the town centre is beautiful, the food is great and it's safe and fun to explore on foot.
In saying all that, Cusco is at altitude and altitude sickness is a real thing! We both had headaches non-stop, but unfortunately Stace wasn't well today at all - it was the nausea that really got the better of her and a few sneaky voms here and there didn't really help. Hiking is another story, you'll see next time things really take a turn for the worst unfortunately.
These South America travels were filmed in October 2023, an amazing time of year to visit. We spent a month exploring Peru, Bolivia, Argentina and Chile and these travel vlogs are to share our experience of the first time touching the continent... safe to say we loved it! Already visited many countries in South America but Peru has been my personal bucketlist. Too bad, my travel dart never land on this country yet. Sooner, I would be one of those people who would says, "It's the kind of country where 'ceviche' is the unofficial national anthem, and 'alpaca wool' is not just for sweaters but a way of life."
Peru is well worth a visit!! Come on dart!

OMG you guys are in South America!!! I have been a subscriber since before the pandemic and I have been waiting a long time for you guys to come to this destination I was in Peru in 2004. So beautiful. Cusco, Pisac in the Sacred Valley....the air was so fresh. Hope you guys had Stace take some cocoa tea, which is supposed to help altitude sickness. Loved this vlog, and am excited for this series!! The wait is over!! 😊⛰️🏔🌄

amazing guys! I just got back from my first South America trip to Colombia- fell in love, not my first time in Latin America just south, but I want to come back in a year and do it all so taking inspo from this!
I also struggled with a bit of altitude sickness in Bogota-flew from sea level without realising it was a problem it sucks! hope your feeling better now Stacey!
Oh my gosh, how was Colombia? That's next on our list along with Patagonia! We just uploaded the second vlog where my altitude sickness was at its worst but i slowly came right over about a week. Crazy how much it affects the body!

Hey guys im going to Peru in a few days what SIM for data did yous use
We used a few options (two at once actually haha) an eSIM as well as a local sim. We asked around and people were using all sorts of different local sims with similar success and they're all super cheap and easy. Just go to any telco!
