Something different while I waited for the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450's to be delivered. Roger has 3 Sinclair C5's, which are now considered to be a collectors item, and have quite a strong fan club. Many owners have modified them, with one even being powered by a jet engine. They were released in 1985, and were a flop in sales terms, largely due to them being considered unsafe for use on the public highway. I would be terrified of getting squished by a lorry, if I took it on the road. More information can be found by Googling Sinclair C5.
Fear not, we will be back out on Clementine very soon.
I look forward to the comments on this video, ha ha.
Thanks for watching. - บันเทิง
19,000 Sinclair C5 bikes were built and 15,000 were sold.
You could make those today with bigger wheels and ....... no one would buy one again! Lol. Loved the video
Yes indeed 😂 Cheers
That had me chuckling. I can just imagine you touring the lakes Hardknott Pass on it..!🤣🤣👍
I’m glad you can 😂 Imagine going up that tight bend 😂😂 Cheers
What in the world? Oh the things money can buy. Cheers from Chicago
😂 it’s a funny little thing for sure. Thanks
That would make a great winter bike for Mr Taym 😅, think he might call it 'clive'😂
😂 I will let you suggest it to him 😂 cheers

Nice pedal bike, true ecological, good for practise exercise and see the views 😊.
With the battery attached, there wouldn’t be much in the way of pedalling required. Would need a big flag on the back to make people aware of your presence on the road though 😳😂 Cheers
Hmm 🤔 yeah nah I think I’ll stick with
My super meteor 😂😂😂
Nice one Ian 👍🏽
I would too ABD. Cheers
😂😂😂😂 brilliant Ian, been years since I’ve seen one, I’d forgotten just how small and dangerous they were, I’m sure that if the powers that be had their way that’s all we would be able have in the future, all the best buddy 👍
😂 thanks Mike. I wasn’t going to bother with this video, but thought “what the hell” 😂. I had a look on Google, just to see how people have modded them….funny 😂 Would definitely need a big flag on the back before I would take it on the road 😳😂
Well, Ian, that's certainly different! I'd give it a miss though, thanks; I wouldn't want to be monstered by one of Bert Greeves' Invacars. 😂😂
😂 I remember those, they were a menace on the roads too 😂
Love it. And had to laugh with Ann hiding around the corner 😂 playing catch up on ur videos now ❤
😂 You have lots to catch up on 😉😎
@@ianhughesroyalenfield most definitely ❤️
Evening Ian there better left with collectors, to dangerous really👍
😂
The Sinclair slipper! 😅I'm sure they made them in pairs? 🤔😆
Yes , he was ahead of his time with those Ian , they'd be OK in Wales now for the 20mph limits eh?
Brilliant video, cheers 🍻
He was, physically a bit bigger, more capacity battery, and it would sell. Originally they had a top speed of 15mph, but a range of 20 miles just wasn’t enough. Cheers
Japan built a solar powered Sinclair C5 in 1986. The Sanyo Amorton.
Interesting 🤔
I didn't know you could pedal them. Most old ladies in mobility scooters would blow you into the dust on one of them now☺
With the short battery life, most owners would resort to pedal power. Yes, you wouldn’t want to take any grannies on at drag races for pink slips (log books) 😂 Thanks
😂Nice one Ian I remember those never seen a white one though and I reckon your right if they came out now and were a bit bigger by that I mean not so low down maybe they would probably catch on but then again maybe not 👌👍😉
With the demand for E Scooters etc, a bigger better battery would see it last longer. Imagine what fun all the thieving scrotes would have with them 🙄😂 Cheers

Hi Ian, thankfully e-bikes have scuppered any chance of a revival of that nonsense, worth preserving only as a lesson to future generations. He should have stuck to computers, he was very good at those. In fairness he had a good idea and was ahead of his time but it was very poorly thought out and implemented, nobody in their right mind was going to venture onto a road in something as dangerous as that. How it got beyond the drawing board is a mystery to me, all he had to do was ask any biker about invisibility and he could have saved his fortune, kept his computer company and spared us all the Amstrad years. Thanks for reminding us.
😂 your welcome Mick 😂
You have an idea what it's like riding a recumbent bicycle. 😎
It would be scary on the road 😂
Best review you have done 🤣🤣🤣
😂 Cheeky sod 😂
@@ianhughesroyalenfield 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I can never decide if he was ahead of his time with this or just bonkers. I think the prospect of using one on a busy road in the 1980's was scary enough, today... yikes!
😂
Never Seen 👀 one of them before.
Well, I'm happy to educate 😀 Cheers
On second thought, who designs the holes in the parking lot?
😂 the roads in the UK are very similar to this parking lot at the moment. Absolutely awful !😢
@@ianhughesroyalenfieldI've 9 inches of snow and more coming, at least you can see your roads.
@ReRiderChi I actually like snow, we never get enough. Though I understand it is a pain for those like you who get too much. The potholes here are ridiculous though. Causing all manner of accidents and even deaths.
Will this be replacing the campervan then Ian or will that depend on what the missus says 😂
😂 Not bloody likely, takes far too much energy to propel it 😂 Cheers
@@ianhughesroyalenfield
Lol 😂😂
Somebody somewhere will have installed modern motors , batteries and control system on one 🤔 Or clipped an old Mini engine to the back !
Thanks Bob, there is a photo on Google where someone fitted a jet engine on/in one 😳😂
@@ianhughesroyalenfieldWell that would be too fast for use in Wales now 🤣🤣
@diversionbob8482 😂 I never thought of that, should have brought it here with us 😂
😂😂😂😂 brilliant 😂😂😂 but no thank you 😂
Thanks Mr TAYM, but are you sure 🤔 ? You have tried almost everything else 😳😂
You know that you want to 🤣🤣🤣
@@Ainsworth-Rider 😂😂 yes, like i want a migraine 😂
