- How is everyone, today we have another installment of the only reason over 90% of y'all clicked subscribe on my channel, Overedited Pokemon Showdown content hooray! I wanted to see the potential of the move Round in VGC, which made some players on showdown confused and some just immediately gave up lol

idk how many times I've watched this but I JUST noticed that tea-tea-ter dmaxes Hatterene and uses Trick Room-as-Max Guard so that Prankster Liepard can use Copycat for priority Trick Room
which is actually genius

They say this but I think Trick Room into Max Guard + Trickster Copycat is a genius move for setting up priority Trick Room and keeping your main attacker alive
It's not bad but anyone that sees a liepard should know it's going to do prankster copycat stuff. Fake out makes that setup instalose
Idk how much showdown youve been playing but that’s a relatively common strat, the counterplay for that would be fakeout or other priority moves so that copycat doesnt copy max guard(tr). Whoever discovered the tech is a genius though!

I mean it doubles it has never been. Still it should also give 20% boost to sound moves (on a similar note i would give Jigglypuff/Wigglytuff and Kricketune an ability that makes sound moves never miss - Sing :-)

@@mekudu-man3804 It's balanced by the fact that they're bad pokemon. Plus, Amoongus does that already with spore, and he's now in sword and shield.
Also, Butterfree can do it with compound eyes sleep powder, but why don't you hear about that? You got it, because Butterfree is a bad pokemon.

Same thing for the pledge moves. Which, unlike round, has been used a decent bit

I've used Round with Porygon Z and Eviolite Porygon 2 to make them both hit first even in Trick Room. Speed becomes irrelevant.

I really appreciate the team breakdown at 7:45 onwards, it sounds like it'll help give people a push in the right direction for making small tweaks to teams found online and making online battles more unique and varied, though I haven't played online in a few weeks and since the dlc dropped, people are probably going to experiment with the new Pokemon added

It's to proc your own WP and break focus sashes. Lowering the speed of the opponent usually doesn't matter for TR and if it does, you don't use the Bulldoze mode.

I loved the explanation at the end of the video for us plebs that don't actively play pokemon (or at least not competitively) but still enjoy watching vids like this! Your team is really quite clever and your analysis of how it works along with alternative ideas on how it could be built was really interesting.

That's pretty normal actually. That way you ensure Weakness Policy activation and make Rhyperior even slower, thus faster in the Room

Its for weakness policy...u dont care of the speed drop if rhyperior has it too... but also u dont expect ur main sweeper to get swept

I absolutely love this, it's so much fun to see small little teams like this actually be impactful. I hope you make more teams like this. Things like trick rooms, weather teams, stall teams, and then just weird teams that use moves like round are so much fun to me and way more fun to see than just "meta" teams that 75% of people use.
I hope you continue to make some more teams like this, do you have any other videos you have made that are in the similar style that you can recommend?

Torcheap: Trick Room Bulldoze ( that lowers speed )
That's actually the common build for TR Dusclops when using Rhyperior. Since Dusclops is slower than Rhyperior, after TR is up you Dynamax Rhyperior and Bulldoze with Dusclops, breaking opposing Focus Sashes, making Rhyperior even slower (thus faster in TR) and activating its Weakness Policy
All of the subtleties in the edits... are just amazing!

This is how I found out that I had completely misunderstood how Round works. Holy hell they need to make a 3rd Orre game with double battles as default so us filthy casuals can have fun with these kinds of strats.
