Thanks everyone for the warm welcome🥰. I had a ton of fun at Spike Feeder HQ. Make sure to tell the Spikes to invite me back so I can show off more alters 😉
I appreciate showing the games with rules mistakes. Commander is complicated and it's nice to be reminded that people generally aren't trying to cheat, there's just a lot to keep track of and even people who play a lot can mess up. For example, I think Jim should be getting an additional trigger off of Derevi for Slicer's double strike, although I'm not sure he has any instants for it to really matter. Edit: Fil catches after a few turns at 25:50
@@zacharyburney7472 i don't know why exactly you replied to me, but i'm always down to answer rules questions: the phyrexian metamorph is not a transforming permanent, so it only copies the front face of slicer and would simply, well, not do that
It is admirable to admit mistakes, especially ones that you learn from. It is very relatable and respectable. I for one could use more content that showcases educational mtg content. Thank you Spikes!!
Kat is a vibe! Yeah there were a bit of misses, a lot of times we can't always rely on our memory with so many cards existing and coming out. Even if we have the card infront of us lol.
Hi Kat! You socked it to me good. I personally would have preferred NOT knowing who made the critical error but that just one occurred. BUT I would watch either way so you don't have to worry about me. :P
This makes me wonder how many mistakes we do at our pod. If we somehow watched again would catch a lot! That was a fun game and love hatebears doing their work to slow down the game :) Also I prefer the lifetotals to be what the players think what they are. The correct lifetotal doesnt matter most of the time and makes a disconnect of what the players think they are.
It looks to me like Jim going to 2 at the end was correct because the Spikes missed the trample from Jetmir. That would have been a hit of 15 down to 2. Also Hi Kat!
I like that you put in the error warning// i think its fine and a learning experience for possibly others players and yourself, were human errors happen
We are, but we didn't get it early this time. We filmed an episode with some brews this past Saturday that we'll be releasing on November 28, and another one on December 5.
The error i noticed is even with the legend rule. The metamorph would have to be sacrificed since the condition for jim having control of slicer is that slicer can't be sacrificed.
The legend rule doesn't count as sacrifice, it's a state-based action that simply says to put all but one of the same legendary into the graveyard, funny enough.
Im here for the people not for the outcome :) more spikes is more yeah! :D Also is there an threshhold when editor fil gets his editor subtitle cut and just be part of the on screen crew? He's on screen that often that i dont see him as the "im filling in today" anymore :D
I have never played Slicer or against Slicer, but he shouldn't go back to Fil at his upkeep, because his effect triggers at each opponents upkeep? Or am I missing something?
The control affect ends at the end of everyones turn so at each upkeep Fil controls Slicer and then decides if he's going to give control of Slicer to the active player. Sometimes this is shortcut.
Right, as far as I can tell 701.50c applies here -- "If a spell or ability instructs a player to convert a permanent that isn't represented by a transforming token or a transforming double-faced card, nothing happens." It looks tokens that enter as copies of transforming (converting) permanents can transform, but clones that enter as copies cannot.
@@TheSpikeFeeders Yarp, that's the rule that applies - the Metamorph is not a transforming double-faced card, so it can't convert/transform, and it's stuck on whatever face it copied as it entered (in this case, Slicer, Hired Muscle).
As a note for the editor, I feel like the onscreen life totals should be what the players believe them to be (as long as they never realize) - the number the players believe is correct is the only relevant thing at play.
So only transforming double-faced cards can transform/convert, and Phyrexian Metamorph is not a double faced card (even if it copies one), so it can't transform/convert. The Metamorph would be stuck on whatever face it copied as it enters the battlefield (in this case, Slicer, Hired Muscle).
I think we say sac but the legend rule isn't actually sacrificing. 704.5j If two or more legendary permanents with the same name are controlled by the same player, that player chooses one of them, and the rest are put into their owners’ graveyards. This is called the “legend rule.” Sorry for the confusion! - Fil
Shouldn't the metaphorph go away since its a copy of Slicer and is forced to flip if its not given to another player? They changed copy rules a while back so I'm not really sure.

Phyrexian Metamorph is not a Transforming Double-Faced card, so it cannot transform. It's always Slicer, Hired Muscle. (See rules on Transforming Double-Faced Cards). If it was Mirrorhall Mimic, it would transform to Mimicry, but SHM will overwrite printed values on Mimicry, thus, it can and will keep transforming. Edit: Beat me by 2 mins, to busy watching the video.. grrr.
i am grateful for the boardstate disruption updates but jim would have died to slicer but he misspent putting dervei in play the first time payed 3 to activate instead of 4 hed have the extra 6 commander dmg and wouldn't have even been last to die. im 1000% sure it wasn't intentional.
I like your content but don't like the current tendency to treat your audience as fragile. You made a mistake, that's it. You are not performing an open-heart surgery. If some of your audience feels like making a mistake is unforgivable, then maybe they should go to therapy.

ah, a game-determinative error, that explains it completely. those've always gotta be tuesdays, no question
See you get it
how would the phyrexian metamorph act when jim decides not to give it to kat? wouldnt it go back into a vehicle?

Per contractual obligation....HI KAT!!
Please invite Kat again, she was really cool! Also hatebears are always epic to see!!!!
Kat was a great guest and she does delightful alters! Even if you make gameplay mistakes, you're all a joy to watch!
Fil jamming a Get Low reference into the deck intros is some next level chaos.

In any cEDH game, the Jetmir player will always be the babyface
That was an awesome game. Love seeing new guests, HI KAT!
Errors are the spice of life. That's the saying, right?
Errors are the slicer of life
Turn 3 Jim only had 3 of the required 4 mana to tap down slicer. ooops! Dont worry Jim, we still appreciate you !
Yeah that's what I thought!
yeah it's noted in the video

Hi Kat, I'm not saying this because I'm contractually obligated
I just pulled apart blue farm because it had gotten stale, and this video has inspired me to put together Jetmir. I just want to hit people.
Fun game! And I must say that I'm warming more and more to alters.
I like that you put in the error warning// i think its fine and a learning experience for possibly others players and yourself, were human errors happen
Slicer and Mother of Cards and Spikes and Modfly alter? SO MUCH WIN
High key 4 slicer cedh game would be so hype lol
Would've been interesting how the game might have gone if Jim had held the Boseiju to nab Slicer during Kat's next turn (hi Kat!)
Hi Kat (Per the contractional obligation)
Are y'all doing any foundations commander content. I know it's standard but I'd love to see tinybones played

Hi Cat (Jetmir is my handsome boy) and Hi Kat (Jetmir is my favorite cat)
Oh well, mistakes do happen when everyone is relaxed and trusts each other to accurately represent costs and abilities.
at 29:34 jim forgot to pass slicer and slicer should convert to his other side (which phyrexian metamorph don't have an other side)

HI KAT!!!!!! ❤
This Jetmir could get Wolfe into MTG.
Glasses crew!
Like this comment to ask Alex where his "like this comment" is.
Wolfey can no longer watch this video.
man of culture
this one was fun, regardless of the mistake!
What a...Slicy game...see what I did there?? 😅 yeah i know, I'll see myself out
Hi Kat! We hope you come back!
Still going to watch the video. Be more careful next time 😂
I NEED TO KNOW WHERE KAT GOT THAT SWEATSHIRT
Hi Kat! (obligation fulfilled)
I'm still loving Atraxa after bans! Also non stax derevi!!!! Makes me sad Jimmothy
More Kat plz

This is good feedback - I'll relay this to the team. - Fil
Slicer did not trade in the end, if you do not give it to a opponent he have to chance in car form.
When you clone a transforming DFC with Phyrexian Metamoprh the clone can't transform because it doesn't have a backside.
@TheSpikeFeeders nice, I did not know this interation
These contracts are getting out of hand. Hi Kat.
Hi, Kat!

hi Kat
All this talk of mistakes and I'm just thinking about burritos
Hi Kat
Hi Kat.
Let it never be said that I break a contract: "Hi, Kat!"
YIPPEE DEREVI
hi kat
The error was also slicer not converting back. Thus not killing jetmir?
Kat casts her commander with a Drannith Magistrate in the field at 26:40
@@vladimirgm1773 She cast it from her hand.
So only transforming double-faced cards can transform/convert, and Phyrexian Metamorph is not a double faced card (even if it copies one), so it can't transform/convert. The Metamorph would be stuck on whatever face it copied as it enters the battlefield (in this case, Slicer, Hired Muscle).
you can not sac slicer

Raggavan didn't bounce back to hand as it was Dashed in.
Never mind :D

@TheSpikeFeeders huh, interesting
I barely catch my own mistakes, what makes you think I pay attention to what mistakes other people make?
I thought the real error was playing a transformer in MTG 🙃
