that ending totally cracked me up! i bought the kit after watching your review and i gotta say, i am one happy customer and can't wait to get the cannon and one more regular to make the tri-stars team
"Somebody stole them" made me crack up :DDDD And also gave me an idea about how to give Jesta some more bling. FAUG looks like little more than a stylized weapon hanger when fully armed anyway ;)
absolutely love this kit just built it today. but while building i noticed some odd pieces and gimmicks that i have questions about. i figured the hooks on the front skirts are for the cannon add on parts.. but the one that confused me the most was the leg extension gimmick at the knees is that for the cannon as well or is it standard to just add a second joint for the leg to bend at? mostly curious since this is my first jesta master grade ive built
I don't mind that it doesn't come with a ton of extras. The Jesta only has a rifle, a shield and a beam saber afterall. This isn't a flaw of the kit but a "flaw" of the design itself. BUT! I still think they did it really well. The rifle has removable ammo packs and comes with 3 spares, the shield moves all over the place and actually has that seperately molded yellow piece and since it has the new hands it can hold all weapons really damn well! So I think they did everything right there^^
Jabman, you should use a flat matte topcoat on your kits. Even on an unpainted kit, it will really improve the appearance and remove that "plastic toy" look the plastic has by default.
The Jesta may just be my next Mobile Suit model that I get but I'll have to wait and see about it in due time. :) I'm also quite happy that the Jesta Cannon is coming out soon as well.
For the record, jesta isn't exactly a"grunt"unit, rather its an escort unit for unicorn gundam. Its job is to keep grunts away from unicorn so it can focus on killing new-types.
I believe he meant "weapons won't fall off on their own" as it happens a lot on older kits with 2.0 hands and below. Ver. Ka Sinanju for example with it's huge rifle that I have him holding in it's full extended arm for some time now, with some miracle.
Getting those fingers loose is nerve-wracking, and it was the point in the building process that made me have to take a break until my own hands stopped shaking :P. It feels like at any moment you're going to break this tiny fragile-looking thing and ruin your model forever.
According to MechaGaikotsu, UC fans in Japan are absolute purist, so they expect model kits of the suits in the UC timeline to be show-accurate. The extending knee gimmick may have been a way that Bandai used to keep this kit show-accurate while at the same time, give the same MG quality articulation
Does that rotating hips give you a problem sometimes like spinning by their own? Or it just solid there and you'll need some efforts to spin it to the position you wanted?
From my experience, the posable hands are quite delicate and will break if you're not careful. One of the fingers in my copy fell off, which you should take care not to make this happen too often or else the ball and socket connections will become loose. Also the wrists can become too loose if you pose them often and the rifle is slightly too heavy for the hands to handle. The hip connections are tight, but honestly I don't like them. The construction on the hip joints makes it feel fragile. Personally I prefer the static hip joints in Gunpla. They may not offer good posability, but at least they're more durable
@@therookie4901 It actually looks good in a two handed shooting pose though. Unfortunately, I broke the sheild arm, so now I have way to attach it to the kit
@@therookie4901 Frankly, the MG Jesta was my first MG kit and my latest build (I started building it last year). Despite its flaws and the mistakes I made in build process, I still like it. Now I see why Master Grade are the go-to grades for many gunpla hobbyists
I thought you were going to make a two weapon rule joke. Regardless I am surprised you've not had issues with the hands I've seen reviewers complain about the palm connection being loose
Maybe I should had counted how many times you said that those accessories stay in place. Expesially when you said it way that one might think that you can't take those off once they are in place. Something that is not true at all.
jabman025 i just saw your reveiw on the heavy arms gundam and now i cant decide between because they both look good. should i stick with the jesta or go with the heavy arms( asking since you have experience with both of them). 😊
married man here. so limited kits specially for someone who just entered the hobbie. i want the jesta and the gm sniper, both look awesome but i can only pick one. wich one would you pick? thanks and greetings from colombia (instant subscriber by the way)
DarcMetal02 They are AWFUL my first UC MG was gundam the origin RX-78-02 which has the 3.0 hands they are a mess and really annoying to pose with I would take exchanging hand parts over 3.0 hands anyday
I just bought my first Jesta because of this video and is an awesome kit, really good eaven after 6 years.
that ending totally cracked me up! i bought the kit after watching your review and i gotta say, i am one happy customer and can't wait to get the cannon and one more regular to make the tri-stars team
It's sad the Jesta Cannon was a Web Shop Exclusive😢
I loved the HG of this guy, and I'm getting the MG for my birthday. Looks like I'll be having a fun build that night!
Just bought this kit planning to paint it green like master chief
"Somebody stole them" made me crack up :DDDD

I applied some dry transfer decals today and you're a lot better than me, if I never see them again it will be too soon!

Great review sir, I have this kit all painted up in og colours of course. This is one of my favourite MG I have!
best GM ever!

I agree with you calling this kit the best 2013 kit so far, this was a great way to start the year for MGs.
Love the ending lol. MG Jesta is getting thumbs up from everyone.
MG Nemo and Jesta seem like they would look good together
Always love the ending
I gotta say that cockpit system looks great.

I would enjoy another Federation Grunt suit from CCA/Unicorn era. The Jegan..
I hope you have one here in 2018 :D

This has shades of Tallgeese. It's like they're not even trying to cover up the fact that they'll be producing another Master Grade based off this one
Got this kit for $40 im glad i watch your videos from time to time so i know which kit is good or not.
for some reason, I always thought the MG Jesta was going to use a simplified Unicorn frame...glad I'm wrong....
From what I've read, some sources state that the Jesta is actually a downgraded Unicorn Gundam minus the psychoframe and the newtype destroyer system
I hope they release several variations of the Jesta. I'd love to see one with a shotgun or handguns as weapons.
I would have liked to see a sidearm included.
The plan is for latter half of june, probably won't have Neo. But we will have Jim because Jim is cool.
That ending bit was funny.
Three high grades or one master grade? Which should I choose

well thanks to your review I will get this kit plus its one of my favoriye designs . When I see it I think cod
I'm holding out for a possible Jesta Cannon in MG... great review though, thanks!
Huh the knees on this kit are reused from the master grade Nu Gundam.
Not to mention the beam saber compartment in the wrist and the 3.0 hands.
In the wiki the jesta is like 90% nu gundam performance wise so they can keep up with the Unicorn. So it kinda makes since it has Nu knees.
The ver ka or the original
Does that rotating hips give you a problem sometimes like spinning by their own? Or it just solid there and you'll need some efforts to spin it to the position you wanted?
Thank da awesome god of gundam you got da review up!!!
I always like the way you end your videos. Nice review. Keep it up :-)
Is the Jesta have issue with the posable hands and is the hips tight enough since it doesn't use ABS or Polycap
From my experience, the posable hands are quite delicate and will break if you're not careful. damn it's one year already, thanks fam. my Jesta still holding good until now, barely posed it lmao

I'm wondering what you would chose, the red frame, or this?
Jesta love!!
good kit mine should be here soon are you going to paint yours?
Oh, Jabman, if Bandai used the Nu Ver Ka frame and made the Mass Production Nu Gundam, would you buy it?
Doesn't the mg gun tank come with a clear LED.
+Theoreviews No, it's green.
if lockdown was a gundam.
So what color LED did you use for this review?
hey jeff, when r u, neo and scott gonna go over gundam age? i love it when ur on i thought they smelled bad on the outside.
Will you review the ReZel GR?
Hey jabman? what top coat did you use? Thanks
just wanna ask is this the same height like those from Ver. ka. UC kits like the unicorn?
MG Jesta Cannon Please!
I thought you were going to make a two weapon rule joke. Regardless I am surprised you've not had issues with the hands I've seen reviewers complain about the palm connection being loose

I like it, thanks a lot for sharing
我喜歡這個,非常感謝提供
What part broke? Where did you use the Model Glue?
are you gonna get the mg sinangiu ova ver.?
How bad are the seam lines on this kit?
is this good for a second ever master grade build (first being the blitz gundam from seed)?
yes it would, a great choice in fact
jabman025 i just saw your reveiw on the heavy arms gundam and now i cant decide between because they both look good. should i stick with the jesta or go with the heavy arms( asking since you have experience with both of them). 😊
jabman025 also thx for replying.
jabman025 nvm i had to go with the heavyarms because the shipping tax on the jesta exeeded my budget.
do you know if Jesta has enough decals to spell out U117?
yes there are enough decals to spell that
hey jabman im new to gunpla and I don't see any nubs on your kit. how do u get rid of the nubs really clean and if possible without painting the kit?
Undergate
married man here. so limited kits specially for someone who just entered the hobbie. i want the jesta and the gm sniper, both look awesome but i can only pick one. wich one would you pick? thanks and greetings from colombia
(instant subscriber by the way)
+ibit eightbit there is no wrong answer here either choice is a good solid kit
Jesta
hey jabman do the MG 1/100 GN-X
These are dry transfer decals right?
Thomas Tiger and sticker decals yes
***** Okay, and just use the method you used in your Shenlong Gundam review correct?
it sucks how the jesta cannon is P-Bandai
So actually unicorn stole jestas weapons 😂
Kit of the year.....until the MG Sazabi ver ka showed up.
If I got a jesta I would paint it a light colour
Lol loved the ending. jerk XD
you couldve cut the "U" from U025 and turned it into "J" for J025 xD sounds cool???
That unicorn is a jerk...but i still love it.
mg jesta cannon just got announced as a p bandai oye
Donald Brown Really?! Nooooooo!!! Why P-Bandai?!?!?! *cries...
Ya you can order it on gg infinite
WELL NO FUCKING NASTRADAMUS!!
i found a clear led
So, until July you'll be spamming what you'll be getting on every video that is slightly related to gunpla, is that it? Good to know ;)
When I hear about 3.0 hands I cringe they are awful
DarcMetal02 They are AWFUL my first UC MG was gundam the origin RX-78-02 which has the 3.0 hands they are a mess and really annoying to pose with I would take exchanging hand parts over 3.0 hands anyday
Jetfire48 hell I like 2.0 hands
Jetfire48 3.0 hands just have a flimsy wrist
The 3.0 hands are too big and only really suitable for large suits like Nu Gundam. I hate the 3.0 hands on my RX-78, they are out of proportion
