Even at their angriest, they are very gentle. Humans are the only mammals that regularly abuse their kids for misbehavior. Mom raised 7 of us by herself after dad died of TB. Normally, she worked two jobs; Dad had no life insurance, and Social Security didn't exist in those days. All the kids turned out great, and we all worshipped her 'til she died at age 91. She never remarried. Best punishment I ever had. The only man she bowed to was Jesus Christ.

It could be that: Firstly she sniffs it for her familiar scent, then hits it for a reaction as only one of her own kittens would be used to her slapping it and thus remain docile instead of rearing up like a strange kitten would so now she knows it's hers and can take it back to her litter. As much as we'd like them to be human, cats are just animals so they don't possess empathy even though we want them to. So remember that appearances can be misleading.

Problem is that most humans can't parent this way because the child would then cry to someone at school, which would lead to a CPS month long investigation. I threatened my son that I wouldn't feed him dinner if he didn't do his homework. It was only a threat..... He did eat. The next day he went to his teacher and told her that I didn't feed him dinner for a week...... CPS showed up to my house that night at 8 p.m. They interviewed me, my Daughters, and my son. Searched my full, unlocked pantry and refrigerator/freezer. A case report was made and someone came to my house randomly several times a week. Even though he admitted lying, I was under investigation for a whole month! Kids now days have way more power over adults! Parenting is hell now days! My son turned me in because he was mad at me for yelling at him to do his homework!! Now, that's fucked up! Edit!!! First of all, I was talking about my 16 y.o. son, not a small elementary child. He was a sophomore in H.S. when this happened. He was failing EVERY subject and then started to refuse to go to school. As a parent, I tried to do what was right, between counseling, one on one teacher instruction, me helping him with HW at home, but also letting him know that failing was not acceptable. So then his play station was taken away along with his phone and tablet. He did have access to my P.C. for homework under supervision, meaning that he could't game during HW time. I told him that once he started making an effort to pass (anything) that he would start having access to his phone and Play station again..... That didn't work. I caught him with a phone that a friend of his gave him, he was gaming on it instead of doing his HW. After I saw him on his friends phone, that is when I threatened his dinner that night, but as I stated, HE GOT FED! Regardless, the fridge was always full and the pantry was always full!! He had free range to eat anything he wanted when he wanted!! While working with his teachers, councilor, and principle, all we wanted to do was try to get him motivated to do something where he would start passing. He did end up passing and graduating HS but it was a difficult road, for the both of us. Wow, some of the comments are just to unreal to even read!!!

Problem is that most humans can't parent this way because the child would then cry to someone at school, which would lead to a CPS month long investigation. I threatened my son that I wouldn't feed him dinner if he didn't do his homework. It was only a threat..... He did eat. The next day he went to his teacher and told her that I didn't feed him dinner for a week...... CPS showed up to my house that night at 8 p.m. They interviewed me, my Daughters, and my son. Searched my full, unlocked pantry and refrigerator/freezer. A case report was made and someone came to my house randomly several times a week. Even though he admitted lying, I was under investigation for a whole month! Kids now days have way more power over adults! Parenting is hell now days! My son turned me in because he was mad at me for yelling at him to do his homework!! Now, that's fucked up!
Edit!!! First of all, I was talking about my 16 y.o. son, not a small elementary child. He was a sophomore in H.S. when this happened. He was failing EVERY subject and then started to refuse to go to school. As a parent, I tried to do what was right, between counseling, one on one teacher instruction, me helping him with HW at home, but also letting him know that failing was not acceptable. So then his play station was taken away along with his phone and tablet. He did have access to my P.C. for homework under supervision, meaning that he could't game during HW time. I told him that once he started making an effort to pass (anything) that he would start having access to his phone and Play station again..... That didn't work. I caught him with a phone that a friend of his gave him, he was gaming on it instead of doing his HW. After I saw him on his friends phone, that is when I threatened his dinner that night, but as I stated, HE GOT FED! Regardless, the fridge was always full and the pantry was always full!! He had free range to eat anything he wanted when he wanted!! While working with his teachers, councilor, and principle, all we wanted to do was try to get him motivated to do something where he would start passing. He did end up passing and graduating HS but it was a difficult road, for the both of us.
