My husband passed a week ago, and my cat, who liked him better, seems so lost. She is extremely vocal now, and sometimes wanders the house as if she's looking for him. She has also begun loving on me so much and I love it, but I am sure she misses her man. So do I kitty, so do i.
I lost my husband two years ago and his favorite cat who wouldn’t let me near him. Has started to come up on the bed and wants me to pet him and if I don’t, he licks my hand with that razor tongue it’s kind of annoying but I love it that he’s doing it, hang in there girl it’s not easy
I work long hours away from home and have recently lost my wife of 27 years. My cat (Joy) usually greets me when I get home, and then hides for about an hour... then she's a cuddle bunny, She sleeps with me and on occasion will groom my beard. She's a great companion and feel guilty when I'm gone for 24 to 40 hours. But glad that she loves me.
I'm so sorry for your loss. Am also glad for and happy that you have "JOY" in your life in more ways than one. I'm not a cat expert, but, it seems to me that her hiding for awhile after you get home may be her way of telling you that she understands why you have to be away when you are. As you may know, cats like their alone time as well. It's good to know that you don't force her to spend time with you because of that. She sounds like a very loving companion for you. So glad you have her. 😻❣🥰
I am really sorry for your loss. Thank you Joy for giving company. When my son's were away, it was Tiku my dear cat gave me company. May God bless them.
I went to visit a friend, and stayed at his house a couple of times. He and his wife have about 4 cats. I would wake up in the middle of the night, and have to carefully maneuver around all 4 cats that slept where they could around me on the couch. One night, I rolled over without thinking, and my legs came down on one of them. Immediately apologized to the bolting ball of fuzz, but when I woke up the next morning, he was right back in his claimed spot. Felt so honored that they trusted me and were so quick to forgive.
My husband died six months ago and my cat won't let me sleep alone. For the first two weeks he wouldn't eat but I virtually hand fed him. When I'm on the sofa he can't get any closer to me. On the six months to the day that my husband died my cat jumped onto me on the sofa at the exact time his "daddy" had died. I can't imagine life without my furry boy.
I have had kittens/cats my entire life and they do have feelings and emotions. Give your cat loving every single second you can like I do. Carry them around with you, hug them and kiss them all the time. Let them sleep with you - they love that.
A friend of mine has an old cat (Turkish Angora). I earned his trust. One day I sat on their couch and patted my lap. The cat took it as an invitation, kneaded, curled up and purred loudly.
I rescue cats and my house during winter is filled with felines. My hubby and I are meticulous in cleaning and keeping our house clean with our furry family. The video of what makes a cat unhappy has helped alot. Thanks for educating me so I can keep these critters happy. Funny thing, at bedtime I give them all cooked chicken. Talk about vocal then. I guess they are unhappy when I take too long to give them their treat. 😅
I started feeding my 2 kitties at night and they seem to sleep when we sleep after that. I also make them run around and chase toys before i feed them so they get some of that energy out.
I lost a kitty that was near and dear to me. She passed so suddenly i didn’t realize was was going on. When i got to the vet. The vet told me that my kitty was anemic and she was born with it. Sadly i couldn’t do anything, but watch her go and be with her as she passed. So a little time has passed since then and i have two new babies. They were very skid-dish at first, but now they remind me everyday about my heavenly baby. They have everything they need. Food available, water, toys, you name it they got it. I still miss her and i just pray and hope she doesn’t think I’m replacing her. I had her since she was a baby. She was an adult when she passed. Sorry if that was a little depressing. Just needed to get that out.
@@Catboy892I'm so sorry..😢..we had to have our 2 older cats put down last year..I didn't know cats get upset with having new cats in the house...from what I see here I have unhappy cats..with upsets me very much..
I understand. I just lost my longtime partner my maine coon also was anemic and had chronic kidney failure. His bladder blocked and we had a catheter procedure done at the vets who told me he was cleared and sent him home with us the next day..i only live 5 minutes away. We got home he immediately tried peeing over and over nothing came. His belly more distended and hard and he was in pain. We took him to emergency animal hospital and they too immediately did the catheter procedure and he was doing great thru the nite. The hospital texted me they had moved him from emergency to intensive care and he was doing great. They monitored him throughout the night and normally do for at least 3 to five days after this procedure! But in the morning he had taken a turn for the worse with blood in his urine. The dr called and wanted more tests suspecting chronic kidney failure. I got to the hospital and he looked tired and aout of nowhere it seemed.. emaciated. But he was so happy to see us and laid un my lap one arm on his daddys lap. He wanted to come home. I knew it and i asked if we could make him comfortable at home. The dr slowly nodded her head no. She wanted to run one more test and when she left the room he jumped down to pee. Of course nothing came but he hada catheter in. He was showing me he could not urinate. Bless his soul . I went outside and prayed. Then i did what any mother would. I decided he should no longer suffer. Its only been a month and i miss him every moment. I dont quite know how to live without him. He was my partner in everything. I didnt need to get married because i couldnt find better than him. My cat companion who was protective, who was caring, a great watchdog and road dog! He loved me unconditionally and was happy as long as he was with me in any of my hairbrained adventures. Nobody will ever love me more. And i wish id known earlier and maybe it could have saved him but he never acted sick or like he was in pain. Just that one night i walked in and his eyes told me something terribly wrong happened. I looked around and back at him, show mommy i said. And he got up and kept trying to urinate anywhere every 10 minutes. My poor big boy his eyes said it all. He knew he was going to be leaving before me and he was worried about me. My heart is heavy. I try to think of the many joyful moments we had together. When you have a bond like that with anyone a person or a pet you can never have enough time. I pray our spirits will be together again somehow very soon. I watch for his spirit to come to me somehow someway. Ive had a lot of pets but none like that cat. He was smart.he was special. Everybody noticed him. He was a King for sure. I havnt shared with anyone yet. But when i read your comment i just felt like you feel. And i guess i too had to get it out. May God bring you many blessings and comfort us both in His peace. I do know ill be with my boy again. He's pretty special. He will find me. And your baby will find you too. Until then sharing the love is all one can do. Take care. Thank you.
There is a cat in our neighborhhod that was left behind by her owner when she went to elderly home. She is fed by neighbors. I think she feels very lonely, she always comes around to be petted. And her tail waggs non stop,I figured that means she feels unsafe, because noone gives her shelter in rain or cold. In the winter I made a little house for her, under roof,so she could hide if needed. She always leads me to it and shows she is using it. I have a dog so I can't take her to house, also I know nothing about cats. I wish people who leave would make sure their cats get new, safe homes.
Bring her somewhere she can get adopted, she might not survive long due to not being used to outside, just imagine if the dog you had since he was a puppy is now dumped on the streets, he will be stresssed sad lonely and won’t survive long. It’s nice you built a little house and neighbors helping but little fur baby deserves a home and a family. I know it’s been a year but hoping she got adopted
I know my cat is happy in my home. Every time he lies down, he lies with his belly up. He often follows me either the kitchen or the sitting room. I let him do what he likes, as long as he’s happy. He has never clawed the furniture. He’ll lie on the window sill near me when I’m sitting in my favourite armchair. Sadly he used to sit on my lap when he was kitten but I’m sad now because he no longer does this. My previous, late cat Sheba, once a ‘hell’ cat, turned into the sweetest loving wee thing and followed me literally all over. She was a real chatty wee thing and she was a ‘proper’ lap cat, I miss her sooo much 😪
Cats are so darn smart. My 2 boys are my everything. Their very affectionate just like their cat mom, they finally know what time their being fed a meal vs a treat. They know when it is bed time and they jump on my bed and start kneeling the pillows right before they curl up in bed with me. They used to be very vocal at night and would do that while staring out the window. But their not anymore and they sleep with me all night. I try to take very good care of their coats. Looks good so far. And they get complimented on it a lot. I love them so much. ❤🐈🐈
happy for you too pray for us we are homeless now and waiting on ssi and help i cant wait to get us both a place my kitty girly girl used to be so happy and loved and fun loving i hate our temporary devastating living situation at an old neigbors house she is locked up most of the time in a bathroom cause she sprayed out of anxiety and stress and the woman saw her her cats are free in the house but mine is like an unhappy prisoner pray for us thank you
I really enjoyed learning how to know if my cat is upset. I now can watch for signs of distress. I’m happy to know that my cat is comfortable in our home and happy
Cats can also be affected by the environment outside of their home. I lived in a 2 bed, 2 1/2 bath duplex apartment, figure there was plenty of space for the kitties to run and play and enjoy themselves. Which they did, but we also lived right next to a major highway and had neighbors that would shout and yell a lot. It would scare my kitties sometimes. We moved to a different state, still a 2 bed 2 bath apartment, but everything is on 1 floor, so the overall space is smaller. I was worried the kitties would be unhappy in a smaller living space. But they love it, the area is way quieter and has a lot of trees. The windows are bigger, and there are so many birds and squirrels that pass by or come onto the balcony. They spend hours staring out the window at the birds, they get so excited lol
i live somwhere like this but what i did was put a bird feeder right outside my window. They poop on top of my dads car (my bedroom is on the second floor but i live in a busy neighborhood) but as long as my cat is happy then idc. She especially loves when the birds start fighting, she runs over to the window in an instant with her eyes wide open
i have a shelter cat, she was born on the street and has very short legs. she also has ptss and is always fearful. it took two yrs of patience before she came close. today she loves to be stroked, but she rarely relaxes all the way. so i feel very special when she does.
Thank you. I have a shelter cat. She was found in a barn. The shelter said she is shy. She is about a year and a half. I have never heard her meow. She also , moves quickly when she sees me. The closest she comes to me is across a room. I can tell when she wants me to use my laser. Otherwise, these is no interaction.
@@sharonsmalls6846 im very happy i wasnt the only one who took a cat who doesnt warm up to humans, and therefor in a sense safe the cat. Thank u for sharing. Muis still has her days she is only across the room, but its wonderful when she does come for a stroke, cuddles she will never do, but i do not mind.
My poor cat named Lori is sick I think she's always meowing and trilling when I say her name or talk to her I always want to be with her cause I want her to feel safe I want the best for my cats and the good thing is she's eating she's playing and she purrs still she's really kind and I will always be with her and spend time with her and the cats I love them with all my heart ❤ I love you lori and I hope you get better I wish you get better soon lori
My late mother had 2 ancient cats. In their youth they had been on flights with Mama all over the country. They lived a charmed life and wherever she went, they went By the time she'd passed away they were old and toothless. She'd tried to teach me how the male cat liked his eggs served but he refused to eat, and pined away for weeks, until I had him put down. Her female kitty, once a beautiful long haired ginger was getting senile and had balding spots on her chest. I tried to pretend that she was molting but the veterinarian explained that she could live another few years, but would need increased care. It was so heartbreaking to give her up after another year I'd known them since they were kittens, jet setting and modeling in family portraits. Seeing the drastic changes, hiding, missing the litterbox, brings back sad memories. Lost Mama. Then Dude, then Trixie, all in just over a year. 😭😭😓 Recently I adopted a foundling, then went to the pound and got him a little sister. They're almost 2yo now. Young, healthy and playful house cats with lots of personality. Once they start nearing their late teens I pray that I will be able to outlive them. If you're thinking about adopting, keep a senior kitty in mind. Those last 4 or 5 years can be truly meaningful. ❤
You are a good person to care for your mother’s elderly cats. It is heartbreaking to lose any cats and we have lost 2 over the years. My cat Olivia is a stray we took in. He poor thing didn’t know where her next meal was coming from. That was in 2016 and she lives with us and has bonding nicely with us and being a house cat. Her pic is right next to my name on the left side.🐈 corner.
I was never a cat person but after my daughter kept on to me to get a cat I finally relented, when my daughter was older enough and moved out she took her cat with her I was devastated. I ended up getting a kitten a rescue cat from the pet store who was a ginger he was the last one left gave me a little sound and I turned to jelly I was 60. He is now part of the family he tells me he tired and waits for me to sit down and sleeps next to, follows me everywhere in the garden, and I fret when I have been out and he doesn’t come to me when I get home straight away. But he loves both my wife and daughter but I am definitely he’s pet lol. Cats have a bad wrap when it comes to oh all they want is food, not true they are like any other pet , its the way you treat them is what counts.
lmao i think this is going to be my parents when i move out. They act like they dont like her but they worry about her when we arent home for a long time or when there are guests over and shes nowhere to be found (shes super shy)
2:05 I recently adopted a cat who is 7 years old. He lived in a house with 10 other cats, but he came to the shelter because his previous owner passed away. He did that for the longest time, just wandered around the house meowing. He sounded so sad, we figured that he probably missed his owner because he is such a lovable friendly boy. He doesn't do it anymore though so hopefully he's happy now
Last week we found one of our cats hiding in a closet. This was out of character, so we brought him to the vet *right away*. They discovered a fast-developing cancer and he was euthanized to spare him further discomfort. Our other cat has been searching for Mikey. He has become markedly more attentive to us, clingy even. He is either missing Mikey, or he can tell we are grieving and is trying to provide comfort.
@@emilychen4312 Thank you. Our other cat has stopped looking for Mikey, but he has continued staying close to us. I like to think we are helping him as he is helping us.
My cat Leon is my all. I do spoil him, fresh chicken, encore tuna loin, prawns & treats. Sure I spend more on him than myself. He is well known in estate and adored . Folks know his him & give him treats. Leon follows me everywhere, even on a walk around estate. He will sleep next to me & loves tummy tickles. I know some day he won't be here & despair at thought. He is called Leon after the French film of actor dark coat & white t/S. He is getting on now but vet assures me he is well. So that is my story of Leon. I just ❤ him every day.
I have a cat who loves to fight with me,we took her in when she was a stray, now two years later she runs towards us when our car turns up and rolls on her back and rubs herself on our our legs, and when she goes out she never goes far, she's just a lovable thing ❤❤
My home looks like a bomb site because 7 cats chase each other around, jumping on everything and anything, knocking everything over, than demanding that I let them sit on my lap all day and scratch their bellies and demanding to be fed 3 times a day, even if there is still half the food left from the last meal...and if I don't meet all of their demands I get filthy looks and/or whinging.
My cats loves to keep me company around the garden, and my dogs always looking at me and stray animals follows me and birds are always around me too, and the best thing is babies are always smiling at me and I play peek a boo with them at the store lol parents seems okay….. it feels good to be loved 😂😊
I have a cat who is very vocal. I found out that she was trying to tell me she is being bothered by fleas. I saw a bug or a flea come out by her mouth. I immediately gave her a flea treatment, a topical, and she quieted down. If your cats look unhappy, or if they are more vocal than normal like my kitty, they may need their monthly flea treatment.
My cat is a happy cat. His favorite thing to do is sleep next to a window. He makes sure that I get enough attention by spending time with me on my lap. He also sleeps with me most nights. If he’s not with me then he’s sleeping next to his favorite window. He’s sweet and a loving cat and never does anything wrong. I accidentally named him Kitten only because I was having a hard time coming up with a name for him. He was a shelter kitty and his name was Tiger Paw. My first cat was named Tiger so I didn’t want to name him Tiger since I already had a cat named Tiger. So I started calling him Kitten only until I came up with a more suitable name until one day I realized that he was very happy to be called Kitten. ❤❤❤❤❤ I swear that he is the best cat ever!
Music is amazing. As I listened we had a feeling my furrowed brows had loosened. It's great when I hold my dog in my lap and listen to such good music together. Wish you all happy listening to music
My cat knows a certain "schedule" of when I tend to give him treats. If I miss that schedule...he comes up on the bed and sits on my chest or walks up and puts his front paws on my stomach and stares into my eyes. You can see the stare is a certain facial expression that pretty much says...ummm have you forgotten something? It is so intense and intentional you cannot miss its meaning. 😂
My boy just crawls up to my face and hits me with a pointy claw paw in the beard. I can tell he doesn’t want me to feel his nails but he wants me to wake up NOW and give him attention. 😅
My baby Little sleeps in my lap like 85-90% of most days. Sometimes she hides out in the other room, usually does this once or twice per week. Otherwise, she can almost always be found in my lap. Even sits/lays in the bathroom while I shower. I've started bringing treats in there with me to give her throughout the shower, cause she's such a good girl and usually doesn't "MEOW, MEOW, MEOWWW" while I'm in there. She's such a good baby. I hope to have her many, many more years. As she crawls on my tummy/chest and kisses me on the nose and gets loves...
aww your kitty really loves you. Mine has some kind of love/hate thing. Come here/get away all the time... I have a tip, feed your cat wet food for the majority of her diet! Cats tend not to drink enough water, and that causes gallstones and other bad things, wet food helps a lot with hydration -
Yupp she loves u so much 😻 mine know that I love him more, so he takes advantage; sometimes he just wants to be glued to me, other times he runs away or totally ignore me 😅
My loving little daughter Pookie follows me around the house like a little supervisor at breakfast and dinner, time making sure i get the job done right , as i always give her plenty of fresh food and all 3 water bowls always have plenty of fresh clean water and a fresh clean potty. She loves playing with me,and sleeps with me all night long and knows how to say the good word yeah, said lovingly and affectionately ,that means everythings allright with us sweetheart well be ok ,and she also knows how to say the gid word okay .The way she mouths them and says them is so human ,i know shes a little person with fur on her my sweet little furbaby .I just love her so much.🌹💖💖🎉🌷
Happily my beloved cat who was traumatised through tragic circumstances, displays all the signs of being happy and relaxed. Unless my Narc mother visits then he turns into a big hissball 😂 once she's gone he's his happy self again, bless him 💕🙏😁
My cat is excessively vocal and always has been. It's how he orders me around. He also hisses at me but only when we've been out on our walk too long and I'm making him go home before he wants to.
Do you walk your cat with a leash? Curious. I only let mine out on our patio. My boy loves it, but his sister really isn’t that interested in going outside much.
My poor cat is nearly 20 and spends most of his time either inside or outside on the enclosed back porch or the basement. He isn’t allowed free run of the house because since we moved to this place a decade ago he sprays on walls, doors floor vents, windows and doors, and will literally throw up nearly every single time he eats anything. We’ve paid thousands in tests, special diets, medications, collars, aromatherapy, music therapy, feeding dishes… Nothing works, so he lives sadly away from most of us most of the day. When I bring him in for a while before bed I have to walk thigh the two floors shutting doors to keep him out of rooms. He’s a sweet loving kitty and it’s sad. He’s the last cat and has it lived the other two who we had before he was rescued at four days old.
Hi I love your show.i must say I love it.i have 4 cats.2inside and 2 outside.and little dog .love them they get alone very well.sleeping with us in bed with the dog.everything looks and feel good.thank you.god bless this beautiful animals
My cat does seem to be okay on health. He cleans the right amount and doesn't haven't anything indicating health issues, but he does hide/sleep alot in the space under the stairs now, only since I moved from a room downstairs to a room upstairs. He does come upstairs to eat and use the litter box, no issues there. He does on occasion show up and lay on my lap a little time and some nights he lays on the bed with me and some nights he doesn't. It's like he still cares about me, but does not like the new room location.
@@auntarctica2025 Well... some time has passed and he is going in the new room more and spending more time with me now, even outdoors. Just needed time for the change of room I guess.
I recently got a 10 month old neutered male from a shelter. He's been great. Got acclimated within 3 days and now he struts about the house like a tiny panther. My one issue is his tongue is especially rough and it hurts when he licks my face. I figured out he wanted me to scratch his chest and neck which really satisfied him. Then he stopped licking my face.
My cat Jack spends a lot of time playing with his 110 in pit bull brother, they have never hurt each other. We have had Jack since he was 10 days old. They both sleep with us. They are very happy, healthy and playful..I love them so much. Jack is 3 years old now
He was acting nearly feral when I got him. He follows me everywhere and goes to bed when I do and gets up, etc. Has cat tree, slanted feeders and toys everywhere, 3 cat boxes, always clean, and gets Wellness high quality food, canned and kibble. He always knows where I am because there are no other people or cats. It’s just me and him, but I don’t want another one to clean up after and there is no one to help and I won’t have anyone come into the house to care for him. I feel bad sometimes because I don’t have room for an outdoor catio. But we go sit on the deck when it’s sunny-(not since last summer in Oregon😢) A big house with no yard to speak of. Always thinking of moving. But he loves the laser pointers and seems happy, but no cat friends and confined to the house so I feel bad. Also we have a new covered stroller and also a clear rolling carrier. It’s a dull place here and I cringe at the thought of him not being happy. He ties me down here but with one cat I feel I could take him with me, and with 2 would be harder. Animals are demanding.
He is a lucky kitty! You are providing him all the best you possibly can, right now. I feel you! I am in a home that is falling apart, and about to finish graduate school and seek a new job soon. If I am willing to relocate, I will have more opportunities, which could help me get a better home that doesn’t affect my allergies and asthma. When my 19 year old cat, Signal, left Asia (3) behind, she was despondent. They were a bonded pair. She has a passive personality, and does better with another cat. I gave it 5 months, though I wanted to run out and get a Burmese kitten right away (she is a rescue, but her Burmese buddy had the social, boss personality that brought her out of her shell). She has FIV, though, and when her health began to suffer, I found a Burmese mix at a local shelter. I felt it was an emergency, as she was getting infections when I found her, and again after 5 months alone all day. A friend was just what she needed, and she is now doing better, despite some sibling rivalry over cuddles. If her health was sound, I would have waited. If your cat is basically healthy, I think he will be ok. I qualify an ESA, for mental health, so I have a doctor’s letter that will (hopefully) help me get a rental. I think you are doing the right thing, looking out for your cat’s security. Housing options for you will also help him. You will know if the matter becomes urgent. You seem like you are very in touch with his needs. 😻
honestly i went from one to two, after one year… and i assure you the difference is hardly noticeable. however, it truly does improve your cats quality of life. that way when you’re not home they have their companion. my two boys are total opposites, but two peas in a pod. now, i got my second because i felt so stressed about how mine reacted when we’d get home… People are soooo wrong about how cats are “independent”. they truly need connection as much as we do.
Some cats really don't like to be picked up. One of our cats was even terrified of it, because of abuse, before she was surrendered to the shelter, where we got her from. So, we don't pick her up. When necessary (hardly ever, but say for a visit to the vet) we do it as gentle and short as possible. Over the last decade she can withstand it better, for her trust has grown. But she still does not like it at all.
I just fixed a stray I got. I fixed him and gave him shots, so he's not allowed to go outside for a week. He's been crying non stop. Definitely unhappy but needs to stay inside with the other cats lol.
Thank you for the wonderful vedio. My cat is very happy, thank you for confirming that. She can't be with other cats, so to make up for that, because I can't adopt more cats, I donate monthly for the care of other cats. I can't imagine my life one minute without her in my life, she makes me laugh and giggle and happy, every single time o see her, absolutely no exceptions. Oh God I love her.
I had two brothers from the same nest. One died. The remaining one has now lost his tyrant. He totally transformed. We so totally enjoy eachothers company.... (no brother anymore to indicate: all love shown is MINE!!!) So the one that remained is SUCH a lovely cat....
I had a cat years ago who absolutely never groomed herself. Instead, she would lie down in front of my male cat and he would groom her everywhere except for her paws. To clean her paws, she would dunk them in the water bowl and swish them around.

I do have a couple of cats very much like most of these points. The older one in particular, I used to have a great relationship with when he was an outside feral. His name is Gribble, but in those days he learned to let me brush him out at night on the rails of my deck. Three years ago, he was ran over and I caught him and took him to the vet. He needed surgery on both femur caps. I went to return him back outside, but he bellowed and kept clawing his way back into the carrier. So he's been inside ever since. He runs when she sees me, hisses when we make eye contact. I keep trying to release him but he won't have it. Yet, I know he is not happy at all here. The others? If I catch them as feral to get them medical attention, they all end up hating me, if I catch them just because I think they're stinking adorable, they seem happy with the house and me. My question is what do I do when they aren't happy in my home?
poor little guy, it seems like hes really traumatised from the event. i think contacting a cat behaviourist would help, and making sure he has comfortable places to hide and be alone whenever he needs to be. hes so lucky to have you and im sure he knows it
@@emaangele4956 I never thought of that, a behavioral specialist. I don't know if one is near me. I am convinced that he is traumatized and I am convinced that he associates the injury with me because I captured him when we discovered that he was dragging his hind quarters. He had been ran over and fractured both femur caps and required surgery and isolation. He is absolutely beautiful, Maine Coon mix, orange tabby with bright green eyes. He is very sweet but seems very unhappy at the same time.
@@pamelasarris8262 Can you try felliway plug-ins, catnip and puzzle toys, also playing with him with an interactive toy, like feathers on a stick, and passing him treats, as that can be a bonding thing to do. Wondering if he conversely wants more individual attention! Always good for them to have somewhere to hide / get some alone time though!
My Sweet Female cat means Everything to me. Her name is Mazzy. It's just me and her, and she loves it that way. I take very good care of her and she is always in my Prayers. I ask God everyday to keep her healthy and happy. She is the Love of my life.
I taught my Persian to play hide and seek and she loves it! She learned the first time instantly. Who would think?? They are SO smart. tourtoise shell (calicos) Pretzel. I went to the corner store fell down on the icey sidewalk- i came home & slipped on the edges of driveway Down on my hip i went again Pretzel hasnt left my side ever since. If i get up to go to toilet she'll wake up and follows me, comforts me,
@@lydiastevens-ackley1197 I have read that the reason they follow us to the toilet is to protect us as they fear what the water will do. Princess never fails to follow me, and stands on one side of me and then the other, like a sentinel. Maybe that is true.
@@sftnow My take why my cat Pretzel follows me to the bathroom is b/c when your on the toilet you are most vunerable.(sitting) They recognize this and go into a protect mode
5:50 My cat used to chew up the wires on my earbuds and headphones. I would buy a new pair and as soon as he has access to them, he would chew on them. I can now leave them right next to him and he doesn't do this anymore! 👍🏽 😁
We lost our Bubba cat of 16 years and we still have our Missy cat who is 3 years old and she doesn't like a lot of touching and definitely no picking her up. She meows loudly letting us know when we are overstepping her space. She followed Bubba around and now that he's gone she seemed sad. So we just adopted a new 4 month boy kitty to have so she wouldn't be lonely. Let's face it, we wanted a new kitty too but Missy hates him. It's only been 3 days but it worries me she'll never come around. She is staying in our bedroom hiding. We definitely should have researched on how to introduce a new cat to the family but when we would get a new kitten before, Bubba never had a problem. I hope there's hope for our kitty cats to be friends
Our kitty we lost recently, was in two prevoius homes, 2 years in the first and 3 in the second, and in rescue center twice. She was 5 or so when we got her and we had her around 10 years. She never held her tail up and wrapped it around her side when wanting out or anything. She was such a sweet, well behaved cat. Only one cat out of 9, held his tail high like an S and wavered it. None stretched or showed their bellies.
lol this is so on point. my cat does a few of these things especially hide and stare in the eye. but he only does it when he done something wrong and he hears me say "EHHHH" in an aggressive voice then he run off and hide. after a while he'll sneak his way back around to make sure the coast is clear lol
My boy is my lil shadow.. he's my precious boy .. he's a scared cat of anyone else and I believe he didn't have his mom long enough .. but he has me 24/7 he's a talker chews me out .. they want to play or atleast he does when he howls it means play with me
Where I live, my kitty has been deliberately hurt by a resident, and when younger used to go out more than she does now, because she is timid of the people she might run into, whom have hurt her previously...My cat hates where I live almost as much as I do, and my biggest regret is not being able to find a home with an enclosed garden where she can roam safely and freely without someone trying to hurt her! She isn't a dog, she is a cat, whom is ill at the moment and treated via a vet often...It used to be relatively OK for her to go out, that was until 2 people moved here that don't like cats!
I will check each box after observing my Solomon. 15. Solomons tail is frequently up in a question mark position, and he even offers his tail to be groomed and stroked to me. 14. What happened to #14? 13. My Solomon hides quite often during the day when he wants to sleep without being disturbed. But most of the time, he sleeps on the cat tree inside of the cathouse portion of the tree. 12. Solomon only vocalizes when he wants to be let out of my bedroom when I close the door, let outside to go hunting and exploring, or when I get home from work to greet me. I engage his conversation by meowing back to him with what I believe us catspeak language. 11. Solomon will use the litter box when it is convenient. He doesn't go outside if it is raining, very cold, or it is snowing. 10. Solomon is 9 years old. His coat is absolutely perfect. He is a tuxedo cat. 9. Solomon will stare directly in my eyes and look very serious when he wants to be fed. But, he will also make eye contact while giving me the slow blink when I tell him that I love him. 8. Solomon consumes exactly one can of Friskies salmon paté every 24 hours. In between that, he also eats Friskies ocean flavor dry food. I fill that bowl once per week. 7. What happened to #7? 6. When I first adopted Solomon, he hissed at me several times when I tried to follow him around the house. He hasn't hissed at me in 8 yrs. When Solomon sits at the bedroom window in the middle of the night, if he sees something sneaking around in the backyard, he will growl. It's very amusing. 5. Solomon has NEVER been destructive with anything except toys during playtime. 4. What happened to #4? 3. Solomon takes very good care of his beautiful tuxedo coat. My wife and I brush him frequently and also wipe his fur with a damp wash cloth occasionally. 2. What happened to #2? 1. Solomon only hides when he wants to sleep without being bothered on weekends when I am at home all day. He doesn't always do this. When people visit our home, Solomon hides under our bed up until moments after they leave. He will quietly and carefully inspect the house to see if they are really gone. He can not stand anyone but my wife and I. He has always been like this.
I have a cat that I've owned for a few years now. He is a very nervous cat and doesn't even like movement when me and my husband enter the room. We don't have kids or dogs either. I have noticed that if we walk in very slowly and say his name out loud bringing attention to him he tends to not want to run out the room immediately. He definitely won't eat when we're near his food bowl. I would think that he still happy though because when we are sitting very still and not moving he does lay in the middle of the floor and showd his belly. He also enjoys pets but generally only from the bathroom lol. It's funny because he's actually more forceful in the bathroom and almost demands the petting while were sitting on the john. I think the bathroom is a safe place for him because he is there a lot and enjoys relaxing in the tub. He is also very non vocal. Never meows like ever!!! Just trying to understand our little mans.
My cat was recently diagnosed with IBD. She hadn't been feeling like playing with me and was walking with her tail down a lot before her diagnosis. Wish I could have seen this video back then and known something was up
My kitty sits at attention and stares at me. I slow blink and nod. She hasn't learned to slow blink back yet; she's only about ten weeks old. I've had her a little over two months, and got her from a friend who was finding homes for cats found in her sister's yard. I'm learning to distinguish between the feed me cry and the just sit by me cry :).
Our cats are pretty anti-social. It takes them about an hour after I come home from work for them to come out. I'm very big and very loud, so I get it. I usually make it a point to bribe them with treats when they do come out. They don't like to play much they do love affection.
My cat wakes me up in the middle of the night to play When I don't want to, she won't let me pet her for a bit. I'm working on getting her to stop nipping my feet to get me to play. She used to lie up on my chest every morning and after i was gone a couple weeks, she stopped doing that
When I still lived with my parents... they took care of all the cat's in our house. They did know ererything... or did they. At least me and my little brother were still young... and there was no internet yet to educate us about cat-behaviour. And my parents had no idea, so they went tot a vetinarian everytime . Mostly the day after our dog or cat felt sick. Moslty in time... but more often the cat of dog... rovered from his/ her disease. Many years after I lived on my own... there came a about 4 months old cat came in. And this time I said to this little guy... if no body claims you... you & me will be together till one of us dies. It was about 13 years after my families last cat, died. And yes... even though I only came in Weekends... the old cat, were almost only petted by me. Our younger dog got more attention.. And yes I loved that Boxer soo much! But I never forgot Micky the female cat. Often I felt like the only one that still loved her!
I normally have 4 cats that sleep with me, 2 like to be on my pillows, and the other 2 lay at my feet. Sometimes, they push me to the middle of the bed the other 2 like being on the floor
My cat just stares at everyone all the time. He doesn't blink but has normal eyes and showing he's cozy and safe. He's stared at me for minutes and minutes passing by and when i start talking to him in a loving voice he starts to blink and shut his eyes. I've always thought looking a cat in the eyes is saying "i want to fight you" but his stare is clearly not that case
One of my cats never caries her tail high. She likes to play, sometimes fight with other two cats (and they usually groom each other after a short fight, and offten go to sleep together, and there are no hissing of any other angry voices while they are fighting, it's like a fun to them) She is calm when I am around, gets vocal only if when her food bowl is empty (usually it happens when I get back from work) Every evening she comes to me to play a little and after that she goes to sleep inside my bed. She offen blinks slowly when looking at my or my sisters when they come to visit (but not to their kids, she doesn't like them too much) I think she is really happy. Even without carrying the tail up high.
My cat was unhappy because my parents likes to give treats to random cats around my house, seldomly some cat appears and my parents really like to give them food and sometimes let them inside the house, it made my cat depressed, one day it took off somewhere and never came back home, probably searching for new home, It was my favourite cat
We were a three cat family but last year two of them passed: Teaser from feline leukemia; Ziggy was diabetic and he just became ill and died within a week on the Monday after Easter. Geno was left alone and he is not happy. I remember so well when Ziggy and Geno would meet they would lightly bump heads and rub a bit. Now Geno misses his friends - he walks the house yowling for them, his tail is rarely up any more and he just looks lonely. We talk to him, and hold him when he allows and show him extra love but it is taking a long time for him to adjust. We don't want to bring a younger cat into the house as that never works well from our experience and my wife won't allow a dog no matter how young so I am at a loss as to how to make his last couple of years happier. We will continue to love and pay good attention to Geno in order to help him out of his funk, but it is taking a long time.
I have indoors cats and I have two cats they hide they come out when they hungry they fight some times I have two cats they want to get my attention I give them love ❤❤
My Baby's name too! "Miss Kitty"! I bet that you can't count high enough to ever reach your "love score"! There is NO number! We just KNOW that we love our Kitty Cats beyond our world, our entire creation, and thank God for His gift.
I just got a kitten recently. Its my first time getting a cat, i show her so much love but she bites when you want to play with her. I have just got her a cage.
I try to give my babies the best life I can for them... but one is WAY over starved for attention.. I have a hard time getting anything done because of attending his needs.. :) I love them all- and especially the one that is "needy"- he's the frist and foremost one-- but he is getting to be a handful trying to keep him happy!! :)
I know my cats and I’d say they are all pretty happy I have 13 cats I take care of the male feral , he has the RV outside as his safe haven and a warm bed during winter , I love animals especially cats more than humans , they don’t pollute the planet or make weapons of mass destruction
I just recently moved to another state. I've had to place my fur babies in a pet motel. I miss them terribly and I know they miss me. They're eating well and are getting lots of play time but the photos I get reveal to me that they are scared, not their usual look . I hope to get them back soon cause being away from them is killing me 😢
i wish we had our own place still my cats prior happiness is no longer here i hate her being unhappy she was the little joy to everyone where i used to live with everyone i cant wait to get out of my current situation so i can be with her normally again
My husband passed a week ago, and my cat, who liked him better, seems so lost. She is extremely vocal now, and sometimes wanders the house as if she's looking for him. She has also begun loving on me so much and I love it, but I am sure she misses her man. So do I kitty, so do i.

So sorry to read this. Sending lots of love to you and your kitty xx
Aww sorry for your loss
💙💙 Glad that you and Joy have each other to love and cuddle up with. Much love to you!
Getting your beard "Groomed" is an experience ❤😂😊
Sorry about your wife, you got to get someone in to check on your cat.
Cats have this unique ability to make you feel special. 🐾😻💕
They knew that they could trust you or they wouldn't have let you stay the night ❤

The cat took it as an invitation, kneaded, curled up and purred loudly.
not all cats love that. many don't

You guys are godsend ❤👍for those stray cats.
My cat's specialty is to feel lonely in the middle of the night. And to vocalize it. A lot.
Same, then my cat doesn't want to know me during the day. 2am though? Playtime
My cat will snuggle up to me while I'm sleeping. Heaven help me if I pet him. He'll bite me.
My condolences. 😅
Yes, mine too, every now and then. But, I usually call out to her, and tell her to come here, and then I don't hear anymore after that.
It’s beautiful that you care so much, that says a lot.

My cat is lying beside me on the bed asleep right now. I am so happy that Miss Kitty is happy. Thanks for the video.

Sounds like my cat she must have windows birds really get her attention my car is the same with loud noises too she doesn't like tension I think
I went back to my late parents' village. My cats are so happy, like in heaven. But , they catch and eat those birds😢.
i live somwhere like this but what i did was put a bird feeder right outside my window.
They poop on top of my dads car (my bedroom is on the second floor but i live in a busy neighborhood) but as long as my cat is happy then idc. She especially loves when the birds start fighting, she runs over to the window in an instant with her eyes wide open
So you’re telling me I have a healthy, happy baby 🥺 what a relief!!! ❤
i have a shelter cat, she was born on the street and has very short legs. she also has ptss and is always fearful. it took two yrs of patience before she came close. today she loves to be stroked, but she rarely relaxes all the way. so i feel very special when she does.

It was so heartbreaking to give her up after another year
I'd known them since they were kittens, jet setting and modeling in family portraits. Seeing the drastic changes, hiding, missing the litterbox, brings back sad memories. Lost Mama. Then Dude, then Trixie, all in just over a year. 😭😭😓
Recently I adopted a foundling, then went to the pound and got him a little sister.

Mine turned out to be vocalizing excessively due to high blood pressure.
My cat has a way of telling me exactly what she does and doesn't want, it's like our own little language ❤
I have two cats at home and they like eachother company but they tend to fight really aggressively at times too.
❤
My boy just crawls up to my face and hits me with a pointy claw paw in the beard. I can tell he doesn’t want me to feel his nails but he wants me to wake up NOW and give him attention. 😅
That is what my cat do too. She is 15 years old.
Oh my 😂 he has you trained me too my shiloh trained me too I know which type of food she likes
My Wiggie and CryBaby do the same.
A bit like my Poppy, Miles loves cudd😅up in bed with me and sleeps in the lounge if I’m there. I love all my fur babies.
aww your kitty really loves you.

@kseniarasputin3147 Ugly thing to say.
We re a happy cats 🏡!Both of them always show their fun tails up- I love watching their tails from my sofa spreading joy everyday!
I have 2 cats. I love them both. I treat them like my own kids!
@@jsun7972 Yes. Have walked him nearly everyday for 6 years. How do you get your cat to stay on the patio?
My poor cat is nearly 20 and spends most of his time either inside or outside on the enclosed back porch or the basement. He isn’t allowed free run of the house because since we moved to this place a decade ago he sprays on walls, doors floor vents, windows and doors, and will literally throw up nearly every single time he eats anything.
We’ve paid thousands in tests, special diets, medications, collars, aromatherapy, music therapy, feeding dishes…
Nothing works, so he lives sadly away from most of us most of the day.
Jack is 3 years old now
My cats are rescued from my neighborhood streets. I adore them and the show me they care
Outdoor cats don’t live as long
honestly i went from one to two, after one year… and i assure you the difference is hardly noticeable. however, it truly does improve your cats quality of life. that way when you’re not home they have their companion. my two boys are total opposites, but two peas in a pod. now, i got my second because i felt so stressed about how mine reacted when we’d get home… People are soooo wrong about how cats are “independent”. they truly need connection as much as we do.
(no brother anymore to indicate: all love shown is MINE!!!)
So the one that remained is SUCH a lovely cat....
I had a cat years ago who absolutely never groomed herself. Instead, she would lie down in front of my male cat and he would groom her everywhere except for her paws. To clean her paws, she would dunk them in the water bowl and swish them around.
I must be taking good care of my cat! He does none of these.😊
Thirteen Unhappy Cat Signs
15. Their tail is often in lowered position
14. (Skipped but there are two twelves) An absent of Joy
13. They always hide
12. Excessive Vocalization
11. They don't use their litter box (is it medical?)
10. Poor coat appearance (rule out dental issues)
9. They stare you down
8. An unhealthy appetite
7. (Skipped)
6. They make hissing or growling sounds
5. They are destructive
4. (Skipped)
3. They make themselves bald in areas
2. They don't appear calm or relaxed
1. They dissappear whenever you are around

How to trim cat claws
Pretzel hides behind something & jumps out at me. We play hide & seek!😅
I taught my Persian to play hide and seek and she loves it! She learned the first time instantly. Who would think?? They are SO smart. She understands everything I say, so I talk to her like a person and tell her she is my best friend all the time. Very important to tell them vocally how you love them.
tourtoise shell (calicos) Pretzel. I went to the corner store fell down on the icey sidewalk- i came home & slipped on the edges of driveway Down on my hip i went again
Pretzel hasnt left my side ever since.
My cats are very loving towards me; purrs, rubs; grooming; kneading and best of all sleeping with me!!!
I'm glad to know that my cats are happy
lol this is so on point. my cat does a few of these things especially hide and stare in the eye. but he only does it when he done something wrong and he hears me say "EHHHH" in an aggressive voice then he run off and hide. after a while he'll sneak his way back around to make sure the coast is clear lol
My boy is my lil shadow.. he's my precious boy .. he's a scared cat of anyone else and I believe he didn't have his mom long enough .. but he has me 24/7 he's a talker chews me out .. they want to play or atleast he does when he howls it means play with me
I don’t ignore my cats because I like my cats I have 6❤❤❤
Where I live, my kitty has been deliberately hurt by a resident, and when younger used to go out more than she does now, because she is timid of the people she might run into, whom have hurt her previously...My cat hates where I live almost as much as I do, and my biggest regret is not being able to find a home with an enclosed garden where she can roam safely and freely without someone trying to hurt her! She isn't a dog, she is a cat, whom is ill at the moment and treated via a vet often...It used to be relatively OK for her to go out, that was until 2 people moved here that don't like cats!
Hi! Thank you for sharing ❤️
My cats always show me they love me!
Wish I could have seen this video back then and known something was up
What is IBD🤔 thank you 👍
@@betsydonis5134 inflammatory bowel disease. The video mentions it.
My Cat always Demands the attention he wants since 13 Years. And i Love him for his Personality. The Day he dies Will be a VERY VERY Sad Day.
Thank you for the information. I love my cat.
Never seen my cats do any of this, thank god.
My cat will stare at me when I'm sleeping. I wake up and there she is staring me down and purring like a motorcycle.
I got a new kitty 19 days ago and it took at least 14 days for her to really get comfortable with me
My cat was unhappy because my parents likes to give treats to random cats around my house, seldomly some cat appears and my parents really like to give them food and sometimes let them inside the house, it made my cat depressed, one day it took off somewhere and never came back home, probably searching for new home, It was my favourite cat
Really love this ❤😊
I have indoors cats and I have two cats they hide they come out when they hungry they fight some times I have two cats they want to get my attention I give them love ❤❤
This video made me realize how comfortable my cat is and how much he loves me! What a great feeling. 😻🥲
My Baby's name too! "Miss Kitty"! I bet that you can't count high enough to ever reach your "love score"! There is NO number! We just KNOW that we love our Kitty Cats beyond our world, our entire creation, and thank God for His gift.
Sorry for. Your. Loss . Glad you have your cat for company ❤❤❤
My cat Scooby meow very much when he don't found his brother, Dooby, or when me and my twin is not home
I just got a kitten recently. Its my first time getting a cat, i show her so much love but she bites when you want to play with her. I have just got her a cage.
3:17 Another thing about cats littering. Our cat stopped using the box because she started doing it outside instead. She's perfectly happy and all.
I miss the cat... I wish that she is happy wherever she is now....
Cats are clever mate! Don't be deceived ❤
Great video my cats are always around me I have 6 ❤
A STRAY CAT ENTERED MY HOUSE AND KEEPS MEOWING LOUDLY!
I just recently moved to another state. I've had to place my fur babies in a pet motel. I miss them terribly and I know they miss me. They're eating well and are getting lots of play time but the photos I get reveal to me that they are scared, not their usual look . I hope to get them back soon cause being away from them is killing me 😢
As intuited , my cats are calm and happy in their home and trust me.
i wish we had our own place still my cats prior happiness is no longer here i hate her being unhappy she was the little joy to everyone where i used to live with everyone i cant wait to get out of my current situation so i can be with her normally again
