I remember an interview with Eric Moore where he explained why all of these new young pro drummers are so good. I think he was right when he said in so many words that they had the benefit of the internet and essentially they're the best educated drummers of the gospel genre as a collective we've ever seen. These new young guys are so good that sometimes when I hear the new pro drummer 20 somethings I secretly think to myself they're actually better than some guys who've been doing it for twice as long (and they'd crush me lol, I never even went pro frfr although I made a few dollars yada yada). Eric Moore is one of the few Gen X guys who can do this classic drum solo and STILL (in spite of all the advantages the young guys have had) do it in a way that makes his performance stand out from all the other amazing new players who could kill this. This dude is an ELITE beast!!! The moment I saw rain on us and his name I was like I'm about to have a once in a lifetime experience. He killed it. Definitely inspiring the next generation of straight up beasts!!! He releases the cracken at 1:57!!!

You don't know how much videos like these influence me as a drummer and a person. This is the type of stuff that makes me want to practice so bad and makes me realize the musical extent that's achievable as a drummer and musician.
