- Dennis Chambers is Goat to me. I love all drummers but I must admit Dennis is my all time greatest inspiration when it comes to playing drums. Had the distinct experience of having a private 1 on 1 drum lesson with Dennis in 1991 at the Long Island Drum Center in Nyack, NY. Just $40/hr back then.
I was into Scofield's Pick Hits Live at the time. Said he didn't read and said he was going for the Garibaldi thing with Sco. Showed me a couple of Tony licks along with what he played on Pick Hits.

YASSSS ! Just great to see Eric wail on this beautiful Funk classic. For me, “pick hits” with Dennis and Gary Grainger is probably my TOP Funk / Fusion tune of all time. the drum intro on the live version blew my mind back in the day & had to transcribe it. The groove alone is genius.
