Came to the comments to post a similar statement. Dozens of officers and cruisers as well as a helicopter with 2 crew and hourly operating cost of the aircraft reaching $1,000 per hour +. The FLIR time indicates at least 1 hour for the pursuit and arrests. So over a thousand dollars shown in this video and the suspects were most likely released without bail and back on the streets the next morning and will not show up for their court date. Just keep voting the same way you do and pay your taxes Seattle area citizens.....🤣
If they use a visible laser, then the suspect will know they’re being marked. If they us invisible infrared lasers, then the officers on foot pursuit would need nightvision goggles to see the laser 💸💸💸
I heard helicopters have this neat ability to hover in one spot, why do these guys constantly circle around ? All it seems to do it make it harder for them to keep eyes on the guys
It's way more dangerous to hover. If there is a mechanical issue the helo will drop like a rock. Maintaining some forward air speed gives them a "chance" to autorotate in an emergency. Low airspeed and low altitude are higher risk. They call that flying below the dead man's curve.

QUESTION: Why don't I ever see police helicopters with a targeting system? I mean... something that would 'lock on' to a vehicle... like you might see in a military aircraft. It aeems like that would help prevent losing a target at night and/or in heavy traffic. Just curious!
