I did my taxes last night thinking it was going to be free but paid over $120 in the end
You’re not alone brother: I thought I had to pay $50, I ended up paying around $150.
The crazy part is 30 bucks is not even our full refund... just imagine how much they really gotten away with
Ikr, I paid approximately $130 every year for at least 10 years and they only want to give $30 back for 2 years SMFH

I paid them $130 to do my taxes, and thought I was getting a $1200 refund, but nope I hade to pay the irs $200. 😡

Oh boy, I can't wait to get 50% of what I paid for my taxes. Hooo boy. Maybe we shoudl have a better tax system like many other countries. OH wait, we can't do that, because then our politicians won't be able to get paid by big companies to keep us in tax hell. Shucks. Guess we're stuck.
I've used TT every year since 2013 and all I received was $29.37 plus this year I only got back $14 and somehow ended paying TT $40.

I am happy with the services I’ve had from them and I’ve done my taxes with them every year except for the year I graduated college. They tried to say my taxes were quite ‘too hard’ and tried to make me spend more money. Definitely pivoted after that to do them with another company! Sad that they’ve been able to deceive some people that long!

I used them this year it say I was getting 128$ had to spend 59$ an it still took out more my refund end up beening 26$ something not right
I used them in 2018 for my 2017 tax return, they owe me aswell. They pull a bait and switch on people regardless. Taxslayer is no better.
Turbo tax was never free
I only use them once because fool me ones shame on them fool me twice shame on me.
Intuit TurboTax deposited $0.00 in my account today as if that was something to send. 🙄
What good is 30 bucks when they charged me $200 for self employment? Hmm that adds up let me tell you.
Increase the settlement amount 100x and they'd feel it
I've been filling my own taxes with them for yrs no problem... People try to sue for anything... It's free to file your self but if you get expert help etc it pays so people are trying to sue TurboTax because they couldn't take the time to read 🤣🤣🤣🤣 go back to Jackson Hewitt from now 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Only 30 I know I been charged over a 100 each year
---- I have used this service every year no pay ---- same thing happened to me this year they said mine was to complicated and redirected me ---- Cost $78 and I file simple form ---- So How do I get my money back $30 wouldn't be correct---- I have receipt via email

If they used the Free Edition, how were they wrongfully “charged”? I know of the bait and switch practices they are talking about but this particular segment did not make it clear who would receive compensation.
$30 for each year I used with them? thing is I think only this year was when I was actually charged and I'm on the free version but something when going through the steps that got me to be charged for filing so they better pay me $90
Did you use them in 2016, 17 and 18? Did you pay for each of those years? Was your income less than $34K ($68K married) for each of those years?
If yes, you will get $30 for each of those years where those things are true.

Nothing is for free unless you go to the IRS to have it done.
They are the biggest scammers; how does the average person understand the confusing document(s) layout (as far as what to enter & where)?!?! I mean, you have people under the age of 20 having to file taxes for various jobs…or whatever background - you name it...and these documents are not “easy” to navigate for the average person who is trying to “go by the book”!!!!!!! The whole institution is a sham for that reason alone! T.T. and the IRS is teaming up to make a sheer profit on the vulnerability of the masses.
This is the shit I cannot stand: Yeah, the advertising wasn't 100% clear. Whose is? But once at the site it specifically tells you how you qualify for a free filing vs. if you have to pay. Now, every website is all about an upgrade and that is what they do once you get there, they try to sell you on the upgrades. As much as their practices might now have been 100% transparent, they weren't deceptive in any way. READ THE FINE PRINT! We literally want everyone to hold our hands and do everything for us! Who the Attorney Generals of these states should be targeting with a damn lawsuit are these airlines and their fees, these cities and their tax assessments, and for the love of God would someone PLEASE reel in these exorbitant fees for using credit and debits cards to pay certain bills/expenses!

It is free if you have >simple forms< that means only a w-2 once you start adding more deductions etc it will ask to upgrade dont expect it free after.
If you want an entirely free process you can always get the forms off the irs for free and send off your return on your own.
