You just saved me a bunch of money taking my car to a mechanic. I tried your technique and was able to fix the brake lights in about 30 seconds. God bless you for making this video!

Thank you so much. I kept trying to install new switches with plungers that had already been pressed down. (They all look the same.) After seeing your video I pressed the plunger down all the way on my original switch, then pulled it out. It then installed easily and the brake lights are working.
    Great video!

Greetings from Australia! Thank you for this superb video. I am not sure how anyone could have successfully replaced the switch for OPTIMAL function if they had not viewed your video. It is the best I have seen today and I have seen lots and lots and........!!! Thanks again.

I literally built a spacer for my brake light switch not realising they were adjustable until this video.. I assumed the pedal was slightly off after I completed my manual conversion

Thanks for the information brother. I fix school buses and we have some where the lights stay on after driving. I'm going to check the switch and see if it clicks all the way out before letting the pedal go. thanks again.

If you have a classic plunger car you use the same methodology but with two nuts on a metal frame in front of the trigger arm on the brake pedals stem, sort of like a sparkplug looking thing. I'd advise plugging it in and having someone watch your taillights as you press it.

vedran milicevic The brake pedal must be in contact with the switch to keep the brake lights off. When the brake pedal is pressed the spring loaded switch is released and the lights come on--I think the video is very clear on this.
