AV club party members are encouraged to attend open enrollment this November to discuss new benefits. New this year is a comprehensive vision plan. Retainers may be included. Great episode guys!
Oh, sans-voyance. Eye get it now. 😵 Im totally recalling a scene from Total Recall right about now. Edit: whoa! I wrote this before I'd heard the part where Jon makes the same Total Recall reference!! 🤓
"I'm the most from head to Ptoh-Ristus" it's so good haha Wow that was a jam-packed episode, looking back, so much happened. Real nice guys! And Gosterwick, It's been ten years if it's been a day.
Damn, Ted can spit bars! Quite a shock this session, eye did not see that coming. A very grim reminder that artifacts can be hazardous to mess around with sight unseen.
Mort the Bard of Vul. You mad lyrical genius. Great job Ted! Mike! Ride the Thunder!!! Odin will be pleased (I hope). Matt, I think Wulfheard is your character. John, good luck dealing with the whole split party deal! But guys if you don’t get your own tower/keep/place to set up “MJ’s Adventuring Guild” in GW I don’t what you will be doing with all your funds
Super exciting that this is, beyond all of the unique decisions and interactions the AV Club has had with the Halls of Arden Vul, now a geographically unique Arden Vul
Consider the lightning ridden X.X I appreciate Ted's roleplay of the arcanum's effect, leaning into with disregard for consequences. Maybe it will inspire his character to research chromatic orbs or some such?
You guys better whip another cleric (or more) to add to the post death pool for new AVClub members/retainers. They appear to be perishable and undead presence seems to be ramping up lately. Plus more mythric readers would be valuable. Enjoyable ep all around, I almost regret having caught up.
lol the ironic thing is being able to have a mythric reader is based on having a positive intelligence score. thats not something we've been terribly successful with.
@@michaelmorrison8679 I hear you, dice are brutal. On another note my sense is that Ted is not especially attached to Titus yet, which might point to further potential vulnerability in the group. Expendable is one thing, keeping track of items, weapons, papers, backing up party members and precious levelled retainers are others. Recent turnover is like my hungry pencil sharpener. I miss Yost already.
@@thaliahelene I think we've talked about this in Detox, but Titus leveled up so fast I haven't really had a chance to get attached! (Mort had to work for it, like all goblins, while the fancy half-elf had all those XP just handed to him by the FoE. Another example of the System keeping the goblin down.)
@@warduke42 Only worried about you guys, thinking about how it could go suddenly horribly wrong. Please don’t interpret as criticism, I’m just invested.
My theory is that a madman or madwoman went all out necromancer and what we're seeing is a necromancy experiment gone horribly, disturbingly wrong. And, obsessed with immortality, one or many mages attempted to grant themselves and others life after death, sometimes ostensibly to protect sacred items or jealously hoarded treasure. Who better to grant these arcane students the knowledge to do this than the great Thoth? If this is true, what it also implies is that the AV Club too can pick up necromancy... Maybe to build an army of undead. But it's just a thought; maybe I'm completely off base.
I realy thought the club would leave the eye-ripping book for Gerilad to find, when they want to atack him. A blind caster is easy prey. Also: the Mort Rap is legendary!
Brilliant idea... As long as whoever discovers the book isn't already aware of the type of trap it contains. I'm not 100% convinced Gerilad is just some hermit chump with an affinity for ugly daddy monkies.
As a librarian, you guys would NOT be welcome in the stack or archives, though I think we could swing some supervised access to the makerspace. No wands though, lightning and 3D printers don't mix.
@1:00 Ted that was epic. I almost stopped watching at that point because I thought it would be all downhill after that. Everyone loves all 3d6 Down The Line Videos, especially when Ted has a great open! Then you got Mike giving Jon ideas, "For all we know you read the book and a new page shows up with your soul in it." Stop giving the DM ideas. You'll be sorry.... Not resistant to lightning bolts? Pretty sure that is all characters in OSE.
Av was the last of the original characters rolled in the first episode. Matt technically still has his original backup character from the start as well I think.
Love the show and have been ripping thought them since I've found y'all. I've wondered why you've opted to have no ambient sounds or music behind these? I know there's an abundance of royalty free stuff out there and always end up playing dungeon synth behind watching these. I don't at all mind doing that, I've just wanted to ask for a minute.
We intentionally try to pare down as much artifice as possible, so it’s basically just the gameplay that is firing the imagination. Very few crutches, so no battle maps, no fx, no minis, no tokens. For me personally, I’ve also found that background music will often not match the tone of what is occurring at the table. And on the opposite end of the spectrum, managing a soundboard with dozens of cues for specific scenarios is brainpower I’d rather spend on something else. Thank you for watching, and I’m glad you’ve been enjoying the series!
My ruling is that it does not grant sight as a default. It presumes sight as a given, and then heightens it. What’s more, the biggest problem with the Iron Circlet is wearing it openly in the Halls. It isn’t sustainable.
Ted is an absolute legend.
I certainly didn't expect to witness Mortus J. Gobliano dual-classing into Goblin / Bard this episode. Bravo Ted!
ok that "good news you're twice as wise as odin.." bit by ted made me bust out laughing
I love this show!
OMFG I was shocked at that twist. You could hear the excitement in Jon's voice when he was narrating the "incident".
omg! "blathers empty, beers full, eyes plugged out" ouch!
"...a one time bonus of +2 to ANY roll... ANY roll."

Hey guys, I have doing some math and if you keep posting weekly you will hit episode 100 coinciding with the end of the year. That would be awesome!!
