I like the idea that Lothar was standing behind the retainer when he blew up the ghouls. Reinforcing the retainer's zeal that he was indeed put there to slay all evil.
Those Feats of Exploration are literally the greatest thing, since hiding treasure, to implement if you want to encourage your players to explore rather then just slay everything
Great episode and so glad that most of the club was able to get back to the table this week. I am completely shocked that Lisbeth has gone from O level torch bearer to 7th level druid all at 50% rate of XP. Longevity has it perks not that the AV club would know much about that...Thanks for sharing and I am stilling wondering how Jon is going to get Elvis a cameo in upcoming episodes...Spoilers Below Jon did another fantastic job with the description of Lothar's procedure and the end result that was fantastic "theater of the mind" I also loved the reaction to Mike's smartass remarks about the battle maps and minis...Did team consider having Wulfheard use his invisibility to spy on Weskenim once they returned to Goblintown or were they too worried about the invisibility "blessing" expiring while his doing something more dangerous than scratching himself? Were the Goblin shaman ruled out or was Kerbog Khan just too enticing?
Great episode. Feels like some of the early ones when they were encountering the undead near the then Halfling encampment. Yes you’re killing them, but it would only take a lucky hit to paralyze party members and turn the tables. The whole dynamic post-Neferet has made me reflect on what happen in Arden Vul to begin with, sans the origin of various undead. High ranking Thoth cult members (and others) used their knowledge and power to research means of escaping death, with the unfortunate result being mummification into undeath. Those around them, or killed directly by them then spontaneously rise as lesser undead themselves. While Neferet and others may have been entombed, the lesser undead were free to scatter and plague the halls throughout the long centuries.
My theory is that the process of creating a Mummy/Liche etc in most cases inherently makes them a loci or font of necromantic power not only sustaining them, but also in effect “tainting the groundwater of reality”. Destroying entities like Neferet could fundamentally change the ecology of Arden Vul as her presence creates and sustains other undead. Well, that’s my head cannon anyway.
Ted really comes through on negotiating the real rewards

Good to see you all back. Eleven more episodes until milestone episode 100. I hope Jon is planning something special.
It’s up to the players to make it special! I just react to what they initiate.
I was thinking montage of some kind:) Mike’s one liners are classic

Why oh why did it feel so damn long between sessions. I know that Jon had an off week, but man it felt like weeks since the last one.
Ted’s accountant doubles as a plumber
Yost, “I’ll be back…”🤖 😱
Man that ghoul finale encounter was awesome.
I spy with my little new eye... Something undead.
Right in time for my drive home from work.

Another great session guys!
There's got to be a back door to that eye. Not like it's open source or anything. He's watching everything.
Upior had the key to the Library of Thoth and locked the door behind him when the party left.
Shame about that hole in his pocket.
Well that title isn’t ominous at all.
Very cool techomany upgrade
The real question is, can Brother Lothar use his new eye as a camera?
I love all 3d6 Down The Line videos!
I can see Kerbog Khan speaking with a transatlantic accent.
For some reason I imagine him being voiced by David Lynch. 😂
Like an old-timey radio broadcast.
NOT THE PEAR!
i'm glad someone got it
"How exactly is this going to help him see again? "
A little disfigurement... no big deal.
