  • Here is essentially where I walked to everyday around campus. I filmed this on my last day on campus after most people had gone home for the semester. Usually campus is not that empty.

    Hey Jasmine,
may I ask you how you were affected of the protests? Only a few days ago I was accepted for the exchange term (autumn 2020) at HKUST. I heard that most of the lectures were cancelled and am now a little bit scared not to be able to get all of the required creditpoints. So was it possible to wright all of the final exams?
I would be so glad if you could help me

Hi Fabli2, I wasn't affected by the protests too much in the early semester. Most of the protesting has taken place on Hong Kong Island which is pretty far away from campus. Later in the semester, especially after the HKUST student passed away, things got pretty crazy. All in person classes were canceled and final exams were modified to take them online or changed into essays and projects. Classes were kind of moved online, but not mandatory as lots of students are in different time zones. As the outcome of the situation is still very uncertain, I would have a back up plan if you can, I know the spring exchange term was canceled. And discuss with your home school to see what would happen to your classes if they were canceled early due to the emergency situation.
