exchange student tips.. 1) local students usually go home for the weekend, so you'll have the room to yourself 2) the main climate difference between spring and winter semesters? spring is humid (towels dry in +2.5 days, mildew grows surprisingly quickly, unless you switch on the ac or get a dehumidifier) 3) dec/jan/even feb is cold (~8-12 C at night), and there is no heating - bring a warm blanket/buy a heater 4) cooking: only microwaves provided, but you can get an electrical stove. there is a small fridge in your room (for the good shit you don't want stolen, jk), and a big fridge/freezer in the common room 5) laundry costs $15 HKD per load (wash and dry) 6) cheapest, airport to HKUST (with check-in luggage): A22 bus to Choi Hung, 91M to HKUST (take the small green buses if you don't have big luggage) 7) don't buy general medicine, pretty much all you need (flu to hk feet) is "free" at the hkust clinic 8) there is a grocery store (park and shop) on campus 9) there is a big gym (everything you need), and a small gym beside hall 8/9 (cardio machines) 10) I wouldn't say curriculum in hk is more difficult (than north america/europe), but maybe students try a lot harder/are more stressed about grades? Idk. Bell curve? Or b/c business? 11) You can register for courses that aren't on the "Exchange student course catalogue", even if you don't need it as a core course. Just look at the full catalogue and email your coordinator - they'll hook you up good. real good.

Hall V is originally designed for PG students, they are meant to be single person rooms. So it is accomodating double the students then it was intended...no wonder the condition is worse than other halls.

They chased a Hall 5 for me and it really sucks, how the hell do i make the transfer from hall 5 to hall 7,8,9 Please give me some advice or maybe a tip is there any way to do that because i really really don't wanna live in Hall 5.

Big gym is at number 6
Small gym is at Hall IX (near the big running track)

24000 HKD (3000 USD) for a whole year is actually pretty cheap! At HKBU the price is 7000 USD for one year.
