  • Hope this video helps anyone who will be studying here! I was an exchange student living in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) Undergraduate (UG) Hall 3 from end Jan to May 2017. This is a brief tour of what a double bed room looks like and the rest of the floor.
If you have any questions on going on exchange, Hong Kong or the dorms specifically, feel free to contact me!

How difficult is it to get into halls 7 to 9 for international students? Were toilets clean? Thanks for the video :)

I can only speak for exchange students, but from what I know, it is completely random so you have equal chances of getting 1-9. Every floor's bathroom was cleaned daily around 11AM so it was fairly clean.

Hi there! this video was very helpful >< I just wanted to ask what hall 3 is like in general? (e.g. lots of local/international kids?, was it far from the academic building?) thanks!!

I definitely felt like there were more locals but given the # of local (about 65%) vs international in the school overall, I believe that's expected in any of the halls. It depends where your classes are! The campus is huge but I'd say this hall was average in terms of convenience, not the closest and not the furthest. For reference, it took me about 10 mins to get to my computer science classes but about 20 minutes to get to the business building (due to the fact that you need to take lifts to get around campus). Hope this helps!

What sort of accomodation for PhD students. Do they have single rooms.

    • @anupranshsharma650

yep they are! but you have to state your reasons on why you want a single room, eg. any allergies or habits that don't allow you to share a room with someone
