    Oh thank you so much!! I'm taking the kids here on Friday from Brisbane ☺️🌺. We have never done it before and excited to go and dig and have fun. Was a bit worried as on the net besides the gov or tourism sites no one has said anything about this spot for there actually being any lol. If you do have any advice or places along there or even close to gympie we love to know. Was looking at your chinamans creek one and chinamans creek road not all that far from there 30 mins? Is chinamans creek along side the road of that name?
    Also it looks so dry so no swimming at deep creek at the same time as panning? 😯😯🌈 thanks i was excited to see your video seeing as we going this week!!

      hopefully you will do well, obviously there is gold their, ( it will be mildly hard to find because the locals have probably had a good wack down their but im sure you'll be alright)
      just like he said, look for inside bends, be persistent, look for rock crevices if you can find any, and if in doubt, just find the area that he worked in the video 8:27, he got a bit their so hopefully you will too
      i wouldn't recommend swimming, the water looks a bit dirty

      Yeah dig where I showed you in the video and hope you score some shinny. Be careful with other areas though as you generally need permission from land owners 😉

      Jane Burgess Psychic Medium Hi Jane, if you follow my instructions to where to find the gold that should give you the best chance? For Chinamans creek you generally would need permission from land owner and sorry I can’t help with that. Just be aware of rules on gov website in terms of prospecting and have fun

      Thanks so much to both you! I'll keep you posted!! And we will get out permits and thanks for letting me know all the other info. And unbelievable about how low the creek is. 🎉🌺

    Thanks Smoky, I was thinking about visiting this site and I was not sure if it was a worthwhile prospect or not, so it is great to get a visual on the area. If someone was just going to use a gold detector and they did not have a 4WD but were willing to hike what area would you recommend in Gympie if you don't mind me asking?

    Hey bud. Good video! Its a great spot, if you know what to look for. Two notes. 1. All the gold there is from the tailings/mullock piles of the past miners. 2. Get a hold of as many old black n white photos of the mining in action. You should be able to put the puzzle together from there.
    I will say theres plenty of gold in the clay layer of the banks. From past big floods it has moved along and gotten stuck in the clay. Get an 18v cordless drill and dummy up any kind of head for it. Then you can break it all up in a 20L bucket of water.

      Hi mate, this is exactly why I started this channel so people like you can share their knowledge. I feel great that you have extended your time to provide all of us the information that you obviously know well.
      I for one will put your information in the memory bank for my next visit. I might even have a crack at the bank to see if I can find some more clay higher up. 👍👍👍

    I haven't been down to Deep creek for a couple of years... I couldn't believe how dry it was. In fact it was nearly unrecognizable... a spot I panned a few times successfully is thick grass now :(
    Anyways... no luck today, local so there is plenty of time to have another look.
    Also... the bloke at the museum that does the panning lessons is great to have a chat with 😉

    All that jagged rock your finding is road base the council built a bridge through conondale 2010-11 that washed away during a big flood, 100s of tons of the shit

    hey, not sure if this is why all the rocks aren't water worn but apparently during the first gold rush in gympie, deep creek was mined up so much that the creek was destroyed. They later rebuilt the area and made the water flow where the original creek did before.

    • @SmokeyProspecting
      @SmokeyProspecting  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow really! That would explain the strange rocks in the creek there. I’ll get back there again when lockdown is over to see if I can find everyone a better spot to dig as I’ve recently heard one of our subs found some nice Chunky there.

      Hi Zac, it’s west side of Brisbane road. Go in and park on Victoria street and you will see the entrance, walk down and take the path to the left. You should be able to see the spot then if the water level hasn’t changed. Good luck, let us know how you go👌😎

    • @SmokeyProspecting
      @SmokeyProspecting  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Glenn, I’m pretty sure you could get a header unit to make it a high banker. You might even need to change your matting with the increased water flow required. If you give Ben from Gold diggers in Brisbane a call he can guide you through the correct set up. Make sure you tell him Smokey sent you 😎👍👍. Let me know how you go.
