  • The Kinosoo legend is well known through the Northern parts of Saskatchewan and Alberta. The First Nations tale was originally a warning to any would be fishermen to stay out of the middle of Cold Lake, one of the deepest and windiest lakes in both provinces. The spiteful behemoth is known to take down moose or canoes and swallow men whole. Is it real? Is it fake? Is it still alive? Watch and leave a comment below on what your thoughts are.

    I am absolutely fascinated by folk tales of mythical beasts that have perfectly logical explanations. Something about people being presented with stuff in nature they haven't seen before, and then using their imagination to fill in the blanks, makes me both pity and appreciate the human brain.

      The brain does wild things to add complex adventure to the simple. That’s where some of the spice of life comes from! But I’m with you, Occam’s razor.

    Oh, another fun fact, Moose, can stay underwater for a long time, they feed on long grass along the bottom of lakes, seen some huge Moose eating on the bottom of lakes

      That’s impressive. It adds to the whole “moose bones” angle.

    I've lived in cold lake for 21 years and I had no idea that marvels wolverine was said to be from here. I knew it was Alberta but that's shocking to me. 😂 instantly googled it after hearing you say it haha

      There is even a statue up by the old nato radar site, north of the bmx track. Go check it out!

    Wolverine from cold lake can you explain 😅

    • @DiveInCanada
      @DiveInCanada  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely. Wolverine is a popular marvel super hero who was given a proper back story in the 2000’s. His birth place was mentioned as the area around Cold Lake, Alberta, Canada.
