Doesn't work. Vanilla gift card reject the transaction as Amazon doesn't use the CVV code. The Vanilla gift card will work online only on those sites where you can enter the CVV code. Just enter all the information as regular credit card and choose your home address as billing address. I tried it on one of the site where it takes the CVV also and it works.

Sorry for the long comment but, I figured it out! So I went the route of using the gift card to add funds to my Amazon gift card because you can set the specific amount. Anyway, the name is “A GIFT FOR YOU” or whatever the gift card says in the typical name area and I used my normal billing address. I’m sure you could use the vanilla card just as a normal card BUT if you’re Amazon order is anything above the gift card amount (if you’re using two different payments) then it won’t work. Which is why I went the avenue of adding the vanilla gift card amount to my Amazon gift card. They email you when it’s been completed which took 5 minutes for me just now!
@@jaydenbyers7257 I added the vanilla card as a payment method first and under name I put “A Gift For You” (without the quotes) along the card number, expiration date, little number on the back & used my shipping address as the billing address. Then I went down to the gift card balance section and used “reload balance”, chose the amount that was on the gift card which was $50 & when you hit “buy now” on the reload balance, it will take you to where you choose what payment method to use to reload it. Use the vanilla gift card that you entered into the payment area & it will tell you that it’s sending a confirmation once it’s been loaded on. My confirmation took roughly 5 minutes but it worked seamlessly!
@@jaydenbyers7257 I really thought I replied im so sorry. I used “A Gift For You” as the name :) added it as a payment method & then used that payment method to purchase the exact amount of reload onto the Amazon gift card area. It worked perfectly!
I tried to do this. I have a $50 vanilla card and added it as a payment method. Then I tried to add $50.00 to my amazon gift card balance using the vanilla card as the payment method and the payment was rejected. I even tried $49.00 just in case there was a $1.00 hold fee or something and it still failed to process the payment. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong!
@@snails2802 hmm that’s odd! Thats exactly how I did it too. Are you typing in the “name” that’s on the card along with using the little number on the back & a billing address? If you are doing all of that, this is probably a dumb question but did you verify if that amount is still valid on the gift card? All probably dumb questions I’m asking but trying to think of everything haha
With Vanilla cards it seems that when using online or in store you have to purchase something that doesn't go over the gift card amount. When loading it in the Amazon acct are you then able to add another method of payment if the purchasr is over the g.c. balance?

blackaroni and cheese
No, this does not work, it declined. I just read that vanilla charges card for declines till they get your gift card balance depleted.
